Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The territory was becoming more familiar to him after many sunset strolls with Ratster, but on this evening the leader was a bit tied up with his mate. Fabledflame had laughed good-naturedly, waved him off, but his mood was soured as he now lumbered on his lonesome. The ensuing nightfall felt a little bit chillier without his friend's sunny accent to warm it, and how ever was he meant to learn more about this clan's curious customs without his daily lessons? He sighed dramatically and scuffed the dirt at his paws.

Ravenmask watched the long shadows cast by the setting sun in the SummerClan camp. He always liked this time of day as he reflected on the day's events. He had been on a morning hunting patrol and caught his normal share of prey, although he wished he had gotten that squirrel that gave him the slip. He sighed. Maybe he'll get another chance some other day.
As he was engrossed in his thoughts, he noticed Fabledflame who was off by himself looking a bit unsettled. With a stretch, the gray and black tom got up and padded over to him. "So how was your day?" he asked as he approached.
He was startled from his thoughts at the approach, but, true to form, his composure fell fluidly back into place. "My day was fairly pleasant," purred Fabledflame's honeyed voice. "And yourself?" He considered the other tom for a moment, attempting to think back to any previous encounters or mentions of who it was, but the clan's naming scheme was difficult enough for his foreign dialect to grasp without trying to assign names to cats he may have only encountered once or twice.

"Oh, my day was fair enough," Ravenmask meowed. "Just an average, uneventful day. I suppose it's better than an awful day though," he added with a smile. "By the way, I'm Ravenmask, a Red Guard member." Not being prone to boastfulness but he liked his position with the elite SummerClan group.
He noticed Fabledflame had been hanging around Ratstar recently so he thought it strange he wasn't with him right now. "So, does Ratstar have other business tonight? Is that why you're not with him?"
"It is good to make your acquaintance, Ravenask. My name is, how you say, Fabledflame. I am still growing used to it." Nicholai had rolled off the tongue more easily than his new moniker, but he had chosen to embrace all manners of SummerClan culture to fully comprehend and adjust to the lifestyle change, even at the sake of struggling to pronounce his own name. "Red Guard," he mused afterwards, "How is that? It is position here, but for what?"
He frowned at the mention of his absent friend. "Yes, Ratster was indisposed tonight. He has taught me much about SunmerClan, but today not so much."

The black and gray tom had to listen carefully to Fabledflame's different accent. Strangely, it sounded pleasant to his ears, kind of musical. "Pleased to meet you too, Fabledflame. The Red Guard? Oh, we go on special missions for SummerClan. Often they're more dangerous than just an ordinary patrol. You have to be a good fighter and have quick wits about you to be chosen." He paused and smiled wryly. "Actually, I'm still assigned to ordinary hunting and border patrols. The Red Guard isn't always needed, just on special occasions."
He looked up and saw the moon was already crossing the sky even while the sun was still setting. It wasn't full but it was still bright. "Have you seen our territory by night yet?" he asked.
He soaked in the information like a sopping wet sponge. "Ahh, I see. This sounds honorable, such is what I learn of your clan." His features pulled into a gentle, good-humored smile as the other tom finished his explanation, then followed as Ravenmask glimpsed skyward at the dark expanse. "I have not. I only have began hunting and patrols," he answered.

"If you'd like, I can take you to the top of this mountain," Ravenmask suggested, casting his eyes up the mountain that rose behind the SummerClan camp. "It has quite a view even at night." Besides the waterfall, this was one of his favorite places in the territory.
"If you would be kind," agreed the ginger-and-white tom. In his homeland he'd never been to the mountains, though he'd been able to see them towering distantly, so his interest was properly piqued at the prospect of venturing further up.

"Great, let's get started then," the black and gray tom replied. "The moon's not full but it'll give us enough light to see a good portion of our territory. You might want to come up during the daytime sometime too. On a really clear day you can see all the way to SpringClan on the other side of the lake to our north."
With a wave of his tail, he beckoned Fabledflame to join him as he walked out of the camp.
