Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The Bengal she-cat didn't look back as she left the city behind. All the grime in that place never ceased to amaze her. How could cats stand living there? How did she live their for so long? Thank the gods she was no longer tied to that place. She shook out her fur, and dust came off in waves until her beautiful fur made her glow in the dim moonlight. She carried on away from the salty sea breeze at her back until a faint orange glow on the horizon caught her eye. A fire.
She looked over to see a whole forest burning. Which one was that... SunClan. They bordered the desert. Perhaps the place was finally burning to the ground. Ghostcrown didn't give her good impressions when she talked to him earlier, and neither did her son. She held nothing against them, but they probably deserved it. She flicked her ear back at the sound of another cat approaching from the direction of the city. She let out a dramatic sigh and turned around to face whoever this was. "I see the city trash has left the dump. Get out of here."
Jetstar had been growing frustrated with her situation. She'd gotten one glorious moment to get back at Bloodycrow before she'd had to return and put a lot more effort into being a good leader.
No sneaking off to the other side of the mountains because she needed to get to know all the cats. Work her way into their good graces and keep herself in power. Sure she had nine lives, but if she could persuade the cats of SpringClan to help her get rid of Bloodycrow her chances would increase greatly.
Unfortunately, winning cats over took time. Especially given that Jetstar had always focused mostly on fighting skills rather than her social skills.
So needless to say working to forge good relations with the cats of SpringClan, had left her on her last nerve.
So to avoid a blow up, Jetstar had left SpringClan after telling Goldengriffon she wanted to go take a walk to clear her head. Washed off her scent as best as possible. Going so far to even slip into league territory to pick up their scent and made her way back towards the Forest Clans.
She slipped out of the city heading towards the forest clans, eyes widening when she saw the fire. 'Another fire?' She narrowed her eyes trying to see into the distance. Her heart jumped to her throat when she saw it was SunClan. But if SunClan was burning... and burning that brightly.
It was likely it had consumed most of the territory.
Heart sinking into her stomach Jetstar bit back the grief rising and grasped for her anger instead. If her brother and Littlestar were dead it was on Bloodycrow's head. Anyone's death was on his head. He was an incompetent, vile, disgusting, traitorous, piece of fox dung that was piled together in the shape of a cat-
Her angry musings were cut off by the sound of a dramatic sigh and she glanced over to see that she wasn't alone. A bengal she cat sat and her tart words registered and Jetstar's temper rose.
"You're hanging around the dump, what exactly does that make you? A trash rat?" Jetstar shot back blue eyes narrowing into slits.
"It can speak." She mocked surprise as the other she-cat's form came into view. Jet black face, paws and tail, and tan fur with striking eyes. This she-cat's scars told Igziq everything she needed to know. This cat was a fighter and a survivor, a darn good one at that. Such power and such beauty, but she had nothing bengal like herself. Her scars were just as easy to see, and she wore them with pride. One such mark was on her chest, which became easier to see when she puffed it out: a square with an inscribed circle.
Igziq almost laughed at the she-cat's retort. Just like all of the rest of the city scum, Jetstar thought a semi-clever retort meant something to her. But it didn't. Cats like Jetstar were nothing, and would always be nothing. "But speaking does not make you intelligent, my dear rodent. Smart decisions do. Now, be a good little mouse and do as I say. Get. Out. Of. Here."
Jetstar curled her lips at the comment. "I am no mouse." She said. "A mouse would scurry about, perhaps run." Her blue eyes gleam.
"I can run faster than any mouse could. But I would only run at you, not away." She said stalking forward, muscles flowing with each step, coming to a stop barely a tail length away. "Between the two of us, you would find you are a mouse. Unless you'd be willing to face me in turn."
She unsheathed her claws, flexing her forepaw letting the moonlight flicker across the edge of her claws. Body tensing like a wound up spring.
This was what she'd been looking for. An outlet. And if this cat was willing to go. Jetstar would happily meet her.
Igziq's dismissive gaze never faltered. She only grew more tired of the leader's bravado as she approached. Who did she think she was? Whatever. This would be over before soon. A small smile blossomed across her lips as she rolled her shoulders bit and flexed her claws. A cliff behind her, grassy fields in front of her. She would have preferred the desert, a beach, or even some fluffy snow, but whatever. City trash could only fight so well, and never well enough.
"I hope for your sake that you are fast as you claim..." First priority: get away from the slope. Before lashing out the she-cat rolled the side so that she had solid ground behind her. From there, she waited for Jetstar to make the next move in a ready position.
Jetstar pivoted with the strike, sparing a glance back taking note of the cliff. And mentally filing it away for later. She'd made the mistake of losing track of her surroundings in her last fight with Senescence, and had nearly fallen over. She couldn't afford to be so careless here.
Though a thrill went through her at the idea of making up for her past mistake.
Jetstar stepped to the side moving so the cliff wasn't directly behind her, before surging forward striking at Igziq's shoulder and right side testing her guard.
Igziq took a mental note Jetstar's step away from the cliff. A dumb city rat would have ignored the cliff in its hubris. So, she was a down to earth city rat. Even more fun to gut and kill. Then she saw Jetstar's surge. Easy enough. As Jetstar came in for her strike, Igziq sidestepped away and felt her claws tear away at her fur. She really was fast. Maybe this wouldn't be so easy. Now at Jetstar's side, Igziq dove and scratched at the back of her forelegs quickly before backing away to stop Jetstar from falling and pinning her.
Jetstar hissed as the other cats claws drew blood, but her eyes lit up with glee. This, this was what she'd been needing. A place to just let it all loose!
She lunged after Igziq slashing at the cats retreating flank, meeting mostly air. The other cat was slippery and good at keeping moving moving. Jetstar would have to make sure to keep up.
But Jetstar was content batting and swiping. A thrill going through her when she opened scratches in the other cat's fur. Eyes dilating when she drew blood. It brought a sense of release that she'd been dying for, as she aimed her strikes to force Igziq to continue backing up.
They had plenty of room to play with, no need to risk it getting an abrupt end with one of them going over the cliff. Jetstar wanted this to last.
Her style demanded this type of fluid motion. One dodge into the next into the next, and it all went well. The little scratches here and there didn't bother Igziq. She simply kept moving, until she was ready for her next move. In an instant she suddenly stopped and threw her shoulder into an oncoming slice. As Jetstar's claws ripped into her flesh and slowed on impact, Igziq bit into Jetstar's leg and gave it a nice pull.
(sorry for the short one. I've been trying to figure it out for an hour or two and just wanted to get something down.)
Jetstar hissed as Igziq bit down on her leg and yanked, upsetting Jetstar's balance for a second. Her other forepaw slapping the ground to recover her balance.
Then with a snarl, she bunched her hindlegs and moved forward rather than pull back. Slamming her body weight into Igziq.
She lifted her other forepaw to start smacking at Igziq's head, avoiding using her claws to open any wounds on the cats face. Focusing instead on smacks that might stun the cat into releasing her leg.
Igziq held on tight as Jetstar's weight slammed into her. She locked her jaw and held her ground, but did feel a sprouting pain in her neck from the shock of the impact. Great. As her paws rained down onto her face, the she-cat knew Jetstar's balance would need more to be toppled. So she let go of Jetstar's foreleg and dipped underneath her striking paw and out of reach.
She chuckled as she regained some of her breath. "Not bad for some city trash, I'll give you that."
