Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Thread idea: Maskedpaw some flower language but Maskedpaw at first is all like tsk! I dont need that i need to be a strong warrior.
Then he loves it XD Honeycream tricks him into liking it because Maskedpaw finds a crush and doesn't know what to say, or there's the properties of poisons that come along with flowers and their meanings, kind of like for spies and what not
Honeycream was shocked to get an apprentice, but he took it in stride and tried to plan some thing for them to do. Honestly, he just wanted to hang out in the meadow, not hunt or, heaven forbid, fight! The cream tom hated fighting, more than he hated anything and he really didn't hate anything. He was a peaceful tom, a kind one who smiled at any and everyone. Many had sought him out for advice or just to talk or vent, some even came to him for certain flower mixtures to give to a loved one. Or even to have flowers deciphered that they'd received. Maybe....maybe he could teach that? With that in mind, and an apprentice in tow, Honeycream changed the plan. Though he'd never really said what they were doing out aloud to start with, but that was mostly because he hadn't had a plan until now and they'd just been wandering the territory.
They'd been wandering for a while and Maskedpaw's ear twitched shooting glances at his mentor. So far he'd just shown him some of the clan's landmarks and the apprentice was thirsting for some information. Tactical information.
Like which was a good spot for hunting mice, or a good position to catch sight of oncoming attackers. Since the invasion from the league cats were more worried about staying safe and Maskedpaw wanted to be sure he could protect his clanmates.
"Not that I'm not loving the tour, but when are you going to tell me of our secret battle locations and moves, and our super secret springclan tactics!" Maskedpaw asked. "I remember during the exchange some FallClan cats were talking about how cool their battle moves were! So what's SpringClan's secret move?"
Honeycream hesitated, nearly tripping in his steps at the thought of fighting. Could he get away with dumping the apprentice off on someone else for battle training? Maybe not, but he'd see. "Well, there's a few spots. I..I guess I could show you." His eyes darted towards the direction of the meadow, how he longed for there instead. Surrounded by flowers, sweet scents, and the messages they gave away. There were a few he knew to stay clear of and others that were safe and harmless. The medicine cats had even asked him once about a flower, the one time he'd felt actually useful, well besides for send the flowers as gifts for cats but still. "Is..is there..well did you wanna see a particular one?" Honestly, the tom only knew of two good spots, he'd hardly payed attention when he'd been taught the strong holds of the land, just knowing enough to get by when it came to fighting. The tom had cried the first time he'd injured someone in training, and then again when he killed his first prey. SO there really should be any surprise that he was the way he was. Hesitant to fight or hunt, but easily ready for herb collection, babysitting, and flower arranging.
Maskedpaw was a bit disappointed Honeycream didn't have a list of cool battle places in mind off the top of his head. "You don't have any locations with cool stories attached to them?" He asked tail drooping a little. Like any apprentice could get the tour. He wanted the stories of glory! Of warriors of old who might've lost their lives in pursuit of keeping SpringClan safe.
"Well SpringClan is pretty peaceful, no? Why would I know of any battle places then." Honeycream's paws lead him away, his head down and his face flushed with embracement. He was royally screwing up this training session, this whole apprenticeship in truth. Before long they were at a small clearing and then Lake. settling beside the water. He thought, long and hard about any stories he knew of battles and glory that the cat may like. But he didn't pay mind to the flowers around him, a first, but he knew these ones well. And knew even better to not touch a few least he wanted to be dead.
(touch a flower do it! or at least try to, lol this'll be the moment where poor Maskedpaw realizes his mentor isn't completely useless lol) Jetclaw
Maskedpaw's ears drooped. "But-but when Jetstar was becoming leader, Lightstep talked about a lot of bad leaders. Weren't they overthrown in epic battles?" He asked.
But he still followed after his mentor, even though his frown deepened as they walked. The tom offered him no information on where they were going. Surely he had a cool hunting story from somewhere? OR a tale of caution about places where a fox might lay. The lack of any stories was really bumming Maskedpaw out. He wanted to hear tales of glory! OF adventure.
He huffed drifting closer to the flowers that Honeycream had paid no mind to. On their way to the lake, every so often he'd reached up to bat at a leaf or flower they'd passed. Since it didn't look like he'd get much excitement otherwise.
As they neared the lake, he reached up to bat at one of the flowers Honeycream had ignored
Small yellow flowers grew near the waterway, far enough that most didn't pay them any mind, but close enough that they could be seen, and they'd walked right by them. Honeycream knew they were there, and made sure to avoid them. Just touching them wasn't poisonousness it was ingesting them that was, and he didn't even like to touch them without thoroughly washing his paws afterwards just in case. Out of the corner of his eye during their walk, he'd kept watch as Maskedpaw messed with the flowers they passed. None before had bene a problem, all were harmless, but not this innocent looking yellow flower. "Stop!" His voice raised with the hint of a growl, and he leapt to his paws to shove the apprentice away from the flowers. This was the first time the cat had heard him yell, or even get close to that and never had anyone heard him growl. It was very, very unlike Honeycream. The normally soft spoken tom furiously looked over his charge, searching for any signs that the pollen was on his fur. "In the lake. Quickly!" He had to bath and now, least he have any of the pollen or such on his fur and go to groom later. The sight was slight terrifying, to see such a kind, shy, tom shoving and yelling and growling at an innocent cat, but he had his reasonings and he'd stand by that.
