Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
SunClan lay in ruins. At least, compared to what it was. The strongest Clan driven from their territory by a coalition of cats seeking something more, something Omega sought to explain to his apprentice. His only true apprentice. Most of the Fire Gang's former members dissipated, and it was really was shame for him, but Discordantmelody now had his full and undivided attention. She proved her apparent loyalty back in the war. Note the word apparent. Such a limiter always existed next to such a word for Omega. Today, his apprentice would learn why. She would learn his Code.
"You showed dedication to me. I do appreciate it, but I do not trust you. Not in the traditional sense." He turned around to face his apprentice. "We are not going to fight today. You are going to learn something far more valuable and dangerous. You are going to learn my Code. Not the Fire Gang one, but mine. This Code does not limit you like the SunClan's or the Fire Gang's. It guides your steps and your thoughts to the most important end. So listen closely. The first and most fundamental rule: Peace is a lie. There is only betrayal." He paused. "Tell me, what do you understand about that?"
Discrodantmelody always looked bemused, lips curled ever so slightly, eyes with a natural comedic tilt, it was like she was perpetually on the inside of a joke no one else heard. Even in the presence of her mentor and leader, Omega, she didn't drop the mast. Infuriating for some, endearing for others, it was just who she was.
"Peace is a lie. There is only betrayal." She parroted back, tilting her head slightly from side to side, "All that tells me is to never trust anyone. No cats truly acts on the behalf of the greater good. Instead we are all motivated by the same thing: How can I turn this around in my benefit? Peace is a lie told to followers who'd rather shirk responsibility on another cat than take it for themselves. The betrayal is coordinated by the cats at the top who have the same motivator as everyone else, just more power to do it. Honestly, anarchy is the only way to truly find peace, it's a shame it doesn't really work."
"Not bad, but not quite. You said that anarchy is the only true way to achieve peace. You're wrong. That peace would be as much of a lie. The world's natural order is anarchy, yes, but not just anarchy. Anarchy and conflict. Any peace in anarchy would be off the fleeting wish of your neighbors. As soon as you had something they wanted, that peace would evaporate into nothing." He didn't care for Discordantmelody's bemused look. He cared that she listened and got the job done. And she did. Her poisoning the food proved that.
"Striving for peace is someone else striving to maintain their power over their subjects for as long as possible with as little effort as possible. When they fail, it is because someone else broke the peace. It is never their fault. Why do you think DayClan is as weak as it is? Their lifestyle is built on delusion, and they'll keep paying for it until they realize their mistakes." He paused. "Then we have the next step. Through betrayal, I gain ambition."
