Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Phantom Kvalun and Toxicbird's thread He had finished his unique training with Howlingnight not that long ago, and it showed. Gashes and scrapes crisscrossed a landscape of deep bruises across the young tom's body. He walked with a bit of a limp, and winced whenever he looked anywhere but straight ahead. Howlingnight gave him a long, deep gash underneath his neck. A sign of respect he said. He knew he was much closer to becoming something like a pureblood. Of course, he would only get there in death, but he demonstrated his capacity to serve the Clan with him, now he needed someone else to push him.
The charcoal Bengal knew Toxicbird was a pureblood enthusiast. She was no Dottymask, but blood mattered to her. And he was going to learn everything he could from her. His amber eyes never left his target as he approached, and then his soft voice echoed on the camp walls. "I want you to teach me to be a WinterClan cat. Like Howlingnight did." Several pieces of his outsider heritage spilled from his mouth. His native language's rolled r's and deeper vowels highlighted their common tongue as a second language for him, and marked him as one with no blood in the Clan. "Please."
Toxicbird was sitting alert when Kvalun approached her and began to speak openly, the look on her face changed instantly from being relaxed to one of complete disgust as she glared at the outsider. She was a small cat, one day knowing that those younger than her now would even stand taller than she but her personality made up for it, like her mother she was ruthless and judging and made it clear to all her stance when it came to those who were not of pure-blood status. Her amber eyes never left the tom as he asked for her help. She had seen him with Howlingnight quite often, noticing that each time he returned more beaten than the time before, she had assumed the warrior was just stringing him along for fun but had never been interested enough to ask. "You want to learn how to be a Winterclan cat? So that's what you two have been doing..." she narrowed her eyes, ready to send the young cat away but didnt, yes she would never consider him to be part of this clan but his willingness to approach her and ask such a thing had an idea forming in her head. "Alright, I'll help you for now, but in the future I'd advise you not to speak so openly to me, you're lucky I'm in a good mood today."
He knew few if any of the purebloods here besides maybe Howlingnight had any respect for him. He talked liked someone not from the Clan, and his dark fur contrasted with WinterClan's whites. But Kvalun knew that he had WinterClan blood in him somewhere. How else could he have such long, flowing fur? Maybe his father was dead, but Kvalun just knew he had to have been from WinterClan. He'd get beaten down for even suggesting such a claim, but he could dream.
Like any WinterClan cat, Kvalun was not detered by Toxicbird's hard gaze. He looked right back at her and held it. It was his first test in Toxicbird's eyes, and he would not fail. When she agreed, he dipped his head. Kvalun knew his standing, and that this was a gift, one probably he would feel for weeks to come if she was anything like Howlingnight. "Thank you. I won't let you down. I'll do better than any apprentice you'll ever have."
