Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
In the earlier days of the clans, killing a kittypet wasn't murder, it was obtaining the warrior code. Weak, strong, old, young, they weren't people to us. We'd hang up their gutted bodies along the tree limbs as a warning to outsiders. One night this poor sap of a kittypet came into our neck of the woods. Jingle jangle, jingle jangle. His collar clinking back and forth as he moved. Now on this particular night a forest clan felt a little more guarded, a little more sadistic. So they said, "Hey, Mister Jingles, why don't you come inside with us." Down, down they went into an elders den. Horrific unthinkable things were done to Mister Jingles that night. They say his cries could be heard over borders and into the stars. For two days they would kill and resuscitate him, brutal people we used to be. When they were finished with Mister Jingles they stuffed him into a hollow apple tree. But every year they say Mister Jingles leaves his final resting place to slaughter the lives of forest clan cats like they did to him. You can always hear him coming from the jingle jangle of his collar.
The sound of a jingling collar woke everyone up from the scary story. Gingersnap screamed while Dawninghope only smirked at Harvestcharm's story.
Harvestcharm cackled at Gingersnap's reaction holding up a kittypet collar he had been jingling with his tail behind his back. "You can shrug this off as a story, but I say we find this apple tree. They say it's gnarled, smells like rotten flesh, and that the apples carry a distinct, almost meat like quality to them. I think we should find it and pay tribute to Mr. Jingles with prey so he can let us live peacefully for another year." Harvestcharm said with a wide grin to those who had listened to his story.
(Let me know if you're interested in your characters getting injured during this adventure)
Knightrunner was ashamed to admit he'd tensed up a little when he'd heard the jingling collar, before he relaxed and let out a sigh, shaking his head. He didn't recall the story from his own apprenticeship, and he'd been an apprentice last leaf fall, he didn't recall hearing about Mr. Jingles then.
He tipped his head to the side. "Wouldn't that just attract predators and vermin to 'his' tree?" He asked. If said tree even existed.
Cinnamonsavage scoffed. "Why should we offer him tribute? We should drive out his ghost once and for all. Clearly he's not at rest here if he's coming after cats so long after his demise. If he's driven out he'll go to where Kittypets are supposed to go."
"All the more reason you should come, Knightrunner. We could use your expertise," Divinefavor said, she was sitting between Harvestcharm and Gingersnap, despite their bad blood from her apprentice days, lately she seemed to gravitate toward them, "... Or are you too chicken? After Mr. Jingles is gonna show up and be harder to manage than a fox?"
"How are you going to drive a ghost, Cinnamonsavage? You don't think anyone else has tried that?" Sweetwheat rolled her eyes. While she was less than thrilled to see Divinefavor was here, she still didn't like her new DayClan siblings very much, she wasn't going to leave Harvestcharm alone. It would get them out of the den for a while, even if there was no ghost.

She hated ghost stories like this. Why was she even here? But she needed the break. Her golden eyes have gone glassy, tired after working around the clock. It was telling when Princecharming only jumped a little when Harvestcharm jingled the collar rather than jumping in the pile with Gingersnap. "Y-Yeah. And why do it now? Wouldn't it be wise to do it in the morning?" Princecharming's voice went up an octave, a shudder in it like the creaking of broken blinds.
"Look, if we wait any longer, we'll lose the light of the blue moon," Divinefavor got to her paws and fluffed out her fur. When she did so she really looked just like her biological, Autumngossamer, all except for those odd eyes of hers, "If you are afraid you can stay here, but me and Harvestcharm are going to go find Mr. Jingles. Right?" She cocked her head at her brother.
Knightrunner's ears flattened. He didn't want to let his fellows go on a potentially dangerous mission on their own... even if he didn't think it was real. "I can't let you go alone, even if there is no Mr. Jingles, there can be other dangers in the area."
Cinnamonsavage scoffed. "You're all mousebrains." He said shaking his head.

What does that have to do with anything? Princecharming couldn't help but think, her attempts to keep her expression neutral were failing. She shouldn't be scared, she was a prince for a lot of cats. Someone to look up to. She really couldn't let something like this stop her, but she was close to running off.
"Bunch of kill joys," Harvestcharm muttered with a smile. It was kind of refreshing having people drag their paws. Usually in SunClan everyone was so gullible and such a follower they would always let fear lead them. Here, even a harmless scary story had criticism, which for as obnoxious as that was it was welcomed.
"Uh huh, yeah," Harvestcharm replied to Knightrunner, but nodded his head to him joining, "Okay so it's agreed, Cinnamonsavage isn't allowed to play with us and we're going to go, let's get to it then," He said, already quickly walking, hoping Cinnamonsavage wouldn't follow. He made his siblings look like saints in comparison to Cinnamonsavage's judgmental behavior. The guy judged everything except for nuggets, whatever the heck that was.
Leading the group forward he couldn't help, but feel excited to have Sweetwheat and his long lost sisters with him. Maybe they could finally start to get along, Princecharming had always been nice, after all, but Divinefavor had been the ultimate challenge.
"I got it guys!" Gingersnap said in a muffled voice, coming up beside the group with a juicy mouse in her jaws, "Supernatural things HATE squirrels, so I think the mouse will do."
"Right..." Harvestcharm replied slowly to his older sister.
"Ohh, do you think poor ol' Cinnamonsavage will be upset about being left behind?" Gingersnap worried.
"Uhh..." Divinefavor was always annoyed by Gingersnap, she certainly didn't hate her sister but for some reason she found it hard to not pick on her. She just made it so easy, like what the heck, supernatural things hate squirrels so she brought a mouse? What part of that made any sense? However, one thing Divinefavor couldn't deny was that she always felt terrible after hurting Gingersnap's feelings. Taking a deep breath, she decided she would really, really try to be nice-ish to her, "...I'm sure Cinnamonsavage is glad to be left alone."
She was not going to comment on the fresh-kill. That was a danger zone for sure.
"No one likes being alone," Gingersnap said with concern, but carried on with the rest of the group.
Harvestcharm led the way to the apple orchard, "Have you ever seen a creepy apple tree around here, Divinefavor?" He asked, she had been there longer. He had only joined DayClan when he was an older apprentice. Despite his siblings isolating him the rest of the clan had been pretty welcoming though so he still felt fairly at home with the lands. However he tended to stay away from the apple orchard the most since it was up against SunClan's border. He did not need another run in with Arcticsong.

Okay, she tagged along. And now the once peaceful apple orchard felt threatening. Princecharming jumped when her paw bumped into a fallen apple. It rolled a foot or so away, slowly revealing that a bite had been taken out of it and the insides had started to rot. Princecharming hurried to catch up with the rest of the group, just catching the end of Harvestcharm's question.
Most of the trees were in a straight line, none of them sticking out from the rest. Well, except for that one. "Only one I can think of is the one skirting the border." Princecharming answered, and realized just after she did and her head droop. What was she doing? She was gonna die today.
Harvestcharm turned to Princecharming with a teasing evil smirk, "Great," He said in his best pretend deranged voice when he saw her freaked out expression. He laughed it off walking to the border, searching for the apple tree. Really nothing was giving him the creeps more than hovering around SunClan's border until he saw the apple tree Princecharming was talking about. Even before walking up to the tree there was that feeling that something wasn't right, the "night effect." Friendly places feeling distorted, eerie.
The apple tree ahead was twisted, leaning heavily to the right. The wood itself was startling, it almost appeared to have faces in the grooves like souls moving along the bark. In the dreary darkness he could make out a small glint in the tree, nearing to it he could see it was some piece of small metal trapped in the bark over time. When the branches moved from a wind, he just about leapt out of his pelt, but had enough dignity in himself to stay still instead of running, but soon he found it was for a different reason. The mud around him was sinking him in. "Don't come closer!" Harvestcharm tried to warn right when Gingersnap was about to walk right into it.
Harvestcharm tried to move out of the mud, but by the time he was getting closer to the edge he had to stop when it was up to his chest, "This isn't happening," He said with a tired expression from trying to move through the mud to get out. Unbeknownst to him, but easy for everyone else to see were the whites of bones just barely bobbing out from the mud of victims claimed by the trees dangerous terrain.

Oh she had done it now, seeing Harvestcharm's crazed expression made her grit her teeth. She could almost feel the glares on her pelt, but the group continued. With each step, she shook and suddenly decided to take a side step away from the group. She was obviously scared, but she didn't want the rest to know she was shaking.
Princecharming was already not getting closer. As the whites of the bones rose to the surface, she couldn't stifle the shriek that ripped through her throat. Now she was visibly shaking, eyes wide and jumping around. "We need to find something. Like a tree branch to pull him out." Her voice became almost painfully high.
"There's apple trees all around, this is DayClan after..." Divinefavor immediately wanted to chastise Harvestcharm for what she perceived was a stupid question, but she caught herself and stopped mid-sentence. After an awkward couple more seconds, she simply answered, "No. I haven't."
She wasn't sure what it was about Harvestcharm. She was probably closest to him out of all her her littermates yet got along with him the worst. It didn't make a whole lot of sense but given what they were doing now it was certainly not the time to deal with those confusing emotions. Caught up in her own head, the ginger-and-white she-cat would have most certainly wandered into the mud had her brother not called out when he did.
"What in the...!?" Divinefavor stumbled backward, fur raising along her back as she realized that they needed to act fast. Seeing as everyone else was just standing around, she took the initiative and grabbed a nearby branch and slammed it into the mud, splashing herself and anybody near her with dirt and grime. She was being so ramy that she very nearly hit Harvestcharm with it, "GRAB ON."
Gingersnap paced around the edges trying to make sense of the substance, why was it pulling Harvestcharm down? It was almost like water, or a really dangerous kind of mud?
Harvestcharm bit down onto the stick holding on with all his might. He didn't let go, but it seemed no matter how hard Divinefavor could tug it didn't change the result that he was stuck.
"Here I'll grab hold too," Gingersnap said, gripping onto the longer end of the stick she helped Divinefavor pull at Harvestcharm, but it still wasn't working, instead Harvestcharm let go of the stick with a gasp after straining his hold for so long.
He shook his head, "It's not working, it's plastered to me at this point, but you both know the woods best, Ginger can stay with me and you two can run back for help. Ginger's fur is bright enough to easily find your way back to me."

Princecharming hesitated, yeah. But she almost couldn't move. Like she was one stuck in the marsh instead of Harvestcharm. And when she was able to hear again, her paws could move. She jumped on the stick too, pulling with all her might while almost hyperventilating through her teeth. But it did no good, and her teeth ached when the group finally let go. She did better with instruction, so at Harvestcharm's idea, she nodded before looking over at Divinefavor. She really had no clue what to say to her sister, it left the normally chatty she-cat at a lost as she started running towards Dayclan. "Who do we even ask?" She asked herself more than Divinefavor.
