Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. Pumpkinkit laid beside the pool, her head rested on her paws. The air outside was getting cooler but, thankfully, the cavern stayed quite warm. She dipped her paw into the pool, watching her ripples disrupt the still mirror image of the night sky. The ginger tabby let out a sigh. She was lonely and it mostly had to do with how weird the other kits thought she was. She didn't act like a normal kitten. Her energy level was much higher than that of a normal kit. In fact, she's almost certain that this is the longest she had ever stayed in one place.
Creampuff zipped through camp padding straight up to the freshkill pile. Since Firewind entered her life she felt more capable than ever! She had a routine now sinking much of her time into running practice as well as inventing her own tactical maneuvers in hunting. Since NightClan very rarely ever went to war it felt more useful to practice hunting techniques than any combat specialties. After all she was a loyal guard member, she had to be capable and brave!
Breathing in deeply she took a bite into her prey, letting out the most heavenly sigh as though she hadn't taken a bite out of food this good in ages. Reality was she ate breakfast a few hours ago, but the world around her was amped up 400% into whimsical wonder. The way she loved life everyday was the way people could only hope to someday have a moment of passionate happiness with their life.
Somehow her side tracked mind managed to awaken when her amber gaze drifted over to Pumpkinkit. With a happy fast wave of her tail she greeted the kit as she sat a few fox lengths away from her, joyfully eating, "HI PUMPKINKIT!" She called across camp to her even though they weren't far enough for her to be yelling.
Pumpkinkit nearly leaped out of her fur when Creampuff's loud greeting caught her by surprise. She let out a breath of relief, feeling her heart race in a speedy rhythm. She bounced over to Creampuff, her ears perked with curiosity. Creampuff had never said hello to her before. She had always thought Creampuff was super pretty and was most certainly the most popular cat in the clan besides the leader. Afterall, she was the leader's adopted daughter. "Oh, uh, hi Creampuff." She greeted, forcing herself not to be too overly excited. She didn't want to scare off a warrior as well. "What are you eating?" By the time Pumpkinkit had reached Creampuff, the meal she had been eating was torn to pieces and she couldn't quite make of what the creature used to be.
"Hmm..." Creampuff said thoughtfully to Pumpkinkit's question. What was she eating? She sniffed at it, licked it, pawed at it, "I don't know," She said in a cutesy playful voice. "What were you up to today? I was doing my practice runs. We're in leafbare and I am ready for it, we are not going to go hungry this year!" She declared.
Pumpkinkit opened her jaws to respond to Creampuff not knowing what she was eating but wasn't sure what she should say and closed her mouth once more. Creampuff's next question caught her off guard. No one wanted to know what she was doing. She was the annoying little kitten that followed everyone else around and got under everyone's paws. "Me? Oh, I'm not doing anything important..." She scraped the ground with her paw. "Not much you can do to help out as a kitten. I wish I could go help you hunt! I bet I could catch so much prey that the clan would have enough food to last the entire leaf-bare!" Pumpkinkit piped, puffing out her chest.
"Well we can go out on our own adventure then!" Creampuff suggested, "We could um... We could go spy on DayClan, maybe mark our scents on their border, that would get them real riled up," She giggled.
The orange kitten's eyes widened in surprise. "Won't Flamingstar be mad?" Despite being worried about getting in trouble, going on an adventure sounded so much fun and her paws began to tingle with excitement.
