Sparrowkit wasn’t really allowed to leave the high priest’s den. Her parents had said that she was still too small. She didn’t think she was that small at all! She wanted to be able to go out and play with the other kits. They seemed like they were such fun! Instead she had taken a position right at the entrance her den, watching the cats of her clan move about gathering different materials. The small kitten tilted her head to the side, her dual colored eyes wide with amazement as she watched her clanmates work. She wasn’t entirely sure what happened. All she knew was there was some kind of fight, and now the cats of Sunclan were working on fortifying the camp. Her little tail swayed thoughtfully behind her while her ears twitched at all the sounds of the camp. Sparrowkit slouched ever so slightly. She didn’t want to stay in the den with her mom and siblings all day. Oh! She would help her clan! Her mommy and daddy would be so proud of her if she helped the warriors and apprentices! Sparrowkit jumped to her paws excitedly, running out of the high priest’s den. The taupe colored kit waved her tail about excitedly as she stood in the middle of the camp, observing what the warriors and apprentices were doing. Many of them seemed to be gathering sticks. She could do that! Sparrowkit eagerly ran about camp searching high and low until she found a stick, twice the size of her body. With a happy little squeal, she grabbed the stick in her jaw despite the large size of it and attempted to drag it along the ground to give to one of the warriors.

Havenkit had much the same thought as Sparrowkit, having slipped away from the watchful eyes of her mother while she slept and out into the clearing.. Her white coat was already smeared from mud, as she worked with some of the other apprentice to make balls for Dessertpaw's contraptions to sling at the cats looming over the edge of their camp starting down. Things had been very confusing latley, but the mud felt great between her toes and was helping to keep her cool. She looked up from her task to see another kit dragging a stick along the ground that was far to big for her, but the strangest part was she had no idea who this kit was or what they were doing. Setting mud to the side and leaving footprints in her wake she made her way "and who are you?" she asked blinking staring curiously at the strange colored kitten

Sparrowkit could do it! She was strong! Her daddy was the high priest after all! She continued to drag the large stick along the ground, her little body grunting softly with effort. Yet still, she waved her tail high in the air at the thought of being able to help. Her mommy and daddy would be so proud of her! The taupe-colored kit flicked her ears and looked up as best as she could, tilting her head at an odd angle as she looked at the other kit. They must have been helping too! This was great! Sparrowkit dropped the stick, and started flexing her jaw a bit before beaming up at the other kitten. "I'm Sparrowkit! Are you helping too? Oh! Can you help me carry this stick?" The little she-kit asked as she circled around her large find. "I don't know where to take it, but I've seen lots of warriors and apprentices move lots of sticks and rocks!"

"I could, but I don't think this is helping very much..." she replied, her tail swishing behind her as she looked down at the stick "If you really wanna help then you should come with me, BUT you are gonna have to get a little dirty" she grinned dropping into a play bow and wiggling her rump "You are not afriad of a little mud are you?" she giggled booping the other she-kit and leaving a muddy footprint on her nose as she dashed back towards the river

Sparrowkit had looked a bit disheartened at that as she looked over at her stick. She really thought that she was doing a great job bringing it over to whoever needed it. But when the older kit said that she could still help, she quickly perked up. Her tail shot up straight into the air as she nodded quickly. She wouldn't mind getting a little dirty, but before she could say that to Havenkit, she suddenly felt something wet on her nose. She giggled excitedly when she wiped at the mud, only smearing it onto her muzzle a bit more. "I'm not afraid of anything!" Sparrowkit squealed as she ran after her

Havenkit bound into the thick mud, it coming up to her stomach "We are making mud ball for Captain Desert! He is going to fling them at the enemies. He said to make sure that there are rocks in them so that they cat cause some damage" he picked up some mud and rolled it between her paws and set it beside the others in the shallow dip of water to keep them moist "He said hes going to let us do a practice run soon!"
