Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It was time, even though she had tried to push it off until the last moment she knew it was time. Time to move into the nursery... Dappledglacier's belly was heavily swollen with kits of her own from her arranged marriage with Emberbrand. When she had told him of her intentions, he had went ahead and prepared a nest for her there though he wouldn't be joining her. There was no love in their marriage, but he had made sure that she was taken care of during her pregnancy as per their agreement so she had no complaints. Returning from her final hunt before temporarily being taken away from her warrior duties, she placed her catch onto the freshkill pile before slowly padding into the nursery. Her paws were swollen from walking through the snow and the extra fluid from the pregnancy, and the witches had advised her to stay on bed rest until they arrived to ensure their safety. She slowly made her way inside, letting her eyes asjust to the darkness that contrasted with the brilliant white snow outside
"Hi Auntie!" Rosemarykit purred, wasting no time getting herself tangled up around Dappleglacier's paws. She was absolutely as cute as a button, the perfect combination of her mother and father, snowy white fur with delicate tabby stripes on her points. It was a soft, misty appearance, perfect camouflage for snow-speckled mountain tops. Those eyes of hers, though, they were a different story. While they were still tinged blue due to her young age, the shade of them was so dark that her pupils were hardly visible. It made her impossible to read, a skill most cats didn't develop until they were much older, but a skill she was born with, "Did you come to play with me?"
"Just try it darlings, if you don't like it we can throw it out and have milk for today," Dottymask said reassuringly to her youngest kits. They were getting older, which meant it was time for them to start branching out and trying more solid food. Each of her kits had a mouse, which at their age they really didn't need an entire mouse to eat. Her older kits, now apprentices were stationed inside, they had been the ones tasked with bringing back five mice and now were meant to sit like obedient watchful dogs as their masters ate their catch.
"I don't like it," Fluffykit said, chewing and then spitting out a fat mouthful as she scraped at her tongue, "ick."
Rottenpaw couldn't help but salivate at the prey. He couldn't remember a time in his life when he wasn't hungry, but since being made an apprentice he was downright starving. Dottymask policed them, wouldn't let them eat until night and even then they could only eat the clans cold scraps, which were all the ill tasting meats.
"Oh Dappledglacier, what a lovely surprise seeing you come in. Don't worry, my little demons are well behaved," Dottymask assured the new queen before winking, "They know what happens if they speak." But that was a lie, none of them ever knew the consequences except that it was worse every time. She turned to look back at her demonic litter, "As a special treat for helping you can lick up any of the pieces they spit out. I'd hate for dirt to have to fertilize disgusting mush like that," She said, implying that she had more sympathy for the dirt than them. She was always especially mean when company was around.
Fluffykit laughed at the thought of her older littermates having to eat up mushy prey covered in spit, "Rosemarykit, you sure you don't want to give this a try?"

"Oh Hi there little darling" purred Dappledglacier at the warm greeting of her niece weaving around her legs, lowering his muzzle to gently nose the young she-cat affectionately before settling into her nest laying slightly to the side to keep her belly from having to much direct pressure "but I'm afraid I can't play with you today, the Witches said I need to rest until my kits arrive" she smiled kindly "You are going to have some little cousins soon enough, and when they are big enough you will have all sorts of new friends to play with" but when Dottymask spoke of the demons she curled up her lip in disgust "I don't know why you allow them in here, aren't you afraid their influence will corrupt your children?" she huffed laying her head down on her paws, eyes watching their every move "Vile creatures" she didn't want her unborn kits anywhere near them
"Yes momma, thank you momma" Dirtypaw replied with a big smile on her face, as if Dottymask had given her the best present by allowing them to eat the spit up fresh kill. She sat up straight and tall, like a proper lady trying to force herself to have proper posture. The only thing even slightly bent was her ears, falling forward from the heavy crystals that had been fused inside of them, glinting in the low light. She had been taken away for a while, only to reappear at her apprentice ceremony with the mysterious crystals and crusted symbols carved onto her back
"Don't worry Auntie, I keep them in their place! They won't mess with you," Rosemarykit's dark eyes darkened more as she pulled away from Dappleglacier and swiped her deadly kitten-sharp claws at Fallenpaw's forearm, a cute little hiss escaping from her mouth as she did so. In that moment she looked just like her mother, "Don't stand so close to the entrance! You're making Auntie nervous! If you don't start using your head I'll have Daddy shred you next." Phantom
Sinfulpaw tensed and stood up, if someone didn't stop her soon she would be the one doing the aforementioned shredding, but it wouldn't be Fallenpaw who was going to bleed.
"They're servants to my kits, I can't imagine anyone would try to harm my kits if they see those demon mutts around," Dottymask said passively.
Rottenpaw wanted to shift his paws with discomfort from the stiffness in his muscles, but refused the urge. He could feel Dappledglacier's piercing gaze, she had an inflated head with a wild boar like stink that only someone as prideful as Silverfury's family could have. But even though she was a queen with bigger things on her mind she could still destroy him in moments if she wanted to. That was why when he noticed Sinfulpaw start to move his tail moved over top of hers with a warning look that said, not worth it. In a setting like this if one of them were disobedient they were bound to all be retrained. It was a good method to force the siblings to keep the other in check because he definitely did. He could smell rain in the air, which always meant freezing rain in WinterClan. He did not want to sit outside in that. He was already counting his blessings that the WinterClan apprentices hadn't made them sleep outside.
Fluffykit stared at Dirtypaw, what a weirdo. She turned to look at Dottymask, she always seemed to like Dirtypaw more, that was why she was gifted to her as a servant. However, even though Dirtypaw was a demon she somehow felt intimidated. Mother always seemed to fawn over Dirtypaw, but she supposed she shouldn't confuse that for love as her mothers obsessing almost always turned into punishing behavior. Luckily she was her real daughter, her parents would never land a paw on her or her littermates. "If you're hungry I can always spit out more for you peasant," Fluffykit smirked.

Dappledglacier chuckled as Rosemarykit swiped at the demon apprentice “Deary , no need to dirty your claws with their blood” she looked over to Dottymask, she didn’t understand why she would entrust the safety of her children to such monstrosities, but she would not allow them to curopt her own children once they were born “Do what you wish with them, but if they touch or speak to a single one of my kits, I‘ll rip out their claws or tongue” she mused curling her tail around and up over her belly protectively “There are to few pure-blooded kits in the clan for them to be influenced by demons”
Dirtypaw just smiled sweetly, her face not breaking at all at the thought “If you desire to bless me with food, then I will happily eat it” she responded politely, keeping here eyes downcast out of respect.
Sinfulpaw did stop when Rottenpaw pulled her out of it, but she cast him a glare for intervening. She hated how often she convinced herself that today was going to be the day she did something worth execution or worse, but she always chickened out or came up with reasons to avoid it. It made her feel pathetic.
Rosemarykit dropped her paw down on command and cocked her head at Dappledglacier. Her aunt took a different stance toward the demons than Dottymask, she thought they were so impure that it wasn't even worth the risk of touching them. Dottymask, on the other hand, taught her that physically reprimanding them was the best way to keep them under control. She didn't seem even slightly concerned about catching their ick or whatever. It lead her to beg the question, "What'll happen if I touch them too much?"

"Who knows, but I would rather not find out" she gently rasped her tongue behind the kit's ears that had asked her "You see dear, demons are not something you should mess with. They are vile little creatures, and just being close to them could be enough for their influence to rub off on you. For example, if one piece of prey in the fresh kill pile begins to rot it can quickly spread to the others. Be careful who you associate yourself with"
"It's true, that's why you can't be soft to them, if you show weakness through kindness they'll grab a hold of your soul and never let go. Convincing you that their the victim, but as Wintrystar will warn you, you'll know what a true victim looks like if you let them go. That's why they must stay in WinterClan, we're selfless unlike the rest of the clans who let demons run free, causing disasters. Instead we take the burden of keeping demons, taming them the best we can in order to withhold their ability to cause wrath," Dottymask explained. But did appear visibly annoyed by Dappledglacier trying to scare her kit away from the idea of touching the demons. How was Rosemarykit going to grow up to be domineering if she shied away from striking a demon? Her tail twitched just slightly before turning to Dirtypaw, Rottenpaw, and Sinfulpaw, "How about your little siblings take you out for some exercise while the grownups chat."
Dottymask leaned back in her nest once her kits left to play outside, her demon litter keeping a close enough eye on them that she could rest easy. Turning to look over at Dappledglacier with only the mild interest of checking if she was still there in the nursery she eased her head down all the way to relax. Normally she would speak first, but she didn't have Dappledglacier figured out yet. Possibly a more defining part of who Dappledglacier was would be how she initiated the conversation so she left that open to her.
