Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Markedpelt had noticed Dawnmemories was looking a bit frazzled.
He couldn't blame her, there was a lot going on. The trouble with the league and SpringClan. The twolegs and the ocean.
SummerClan seemed to be facing a lot of problems, and it was times like these that Markedpelt was infinitely glad for Ratstar. If Markedpelt had had to lead like he'd initially been looking to, he wasn't sure he could've handled things as well as Ratstar had.
It was a daunting challenge for certain and he felt Dawnmemories could probably use a reprieve.
"Hey, Dawnmemories." He meowed after setting down a plump rabbit. "This rabbit's a little bit too big for me, think you've got a minute to help me work through it?" He asked, figuring it'd make her feel better about taking a break if it was presented as her helping him.
life is a lot, and I'm sorry for how much it impacts me here

Dawnmemories truly was trying to keep it together. It wasn't that she didn't enjoy being deputy - it was that she was terrified she'd make a mistake. Make the wrong call. Do the wrong thing. It was a constant shadow behind her, that terrible possibility. And she thought sometimes that other cats could see it too.
So, of course, when Markedpelt of all cats approached her she steeled herself for a lecture, for a speech of disapproval. But she should have known better, because her friend only wanted to share a rabbit. "Oh, of course, I'd love too. Thank you, Markedpelt." With one last instruction to a waiting Cherrysky she let herself relax, intending to enjoy her small break with an old friend.
Markedpelt tilted his head when she'd tensed at first. His amber gaze soft, "Come on, let's go find a quiet spot to sit and chat." He suggested bending down to pick the rabbit back up. Then offering her a smile around the rabbit he led her over to a quieter spot in camp, setting down the rabbit and plopping down beside it, tail beckoning for her to do the same.
"Have you had a chance to get any swims in lately? With leaffall now upon us, those twolegs are starting to be around less and less." Markedpelt noted.

Dawnmemories followed obediently, though casting glances around the camp to make sure no one needed her. Satisfied that all was well she settled down with Markedpelt, "oh, no, I haven't actually. I should make it a point to do that before leafbare. I was beginning to think those twolegs would never leave. How about you?"
