"I'm sorry, what?!"
"Sorry, Stormsurge," Asterblossom responded, shifting uncomfortably, "I was just told to ask you to take Soullesspaw out hunting." Before the she-cat could argue Asterblossom turned and bounded away, to the safety of the fresh-kill pile. That left a furious Stormsurge just outside the warrior's den. Soullesspaw? What a disgrace! And to have the news delivered by Asterblossom, of all cats.
With venom in her voice she marched over to the apprentices gathered in a knot in the chilly morning air, "Soullesspaw, you're with me. Let's go, now." She gave Soullesspaw a withering look before withdrawing towards the camp entrance.
This wasn't exactly great news for the apprentice either. None of the pureblooded WinterClan cats, save for Jiltedlinx, ever meant anything good for the apprentice. Her demon blood guaranteed that, and the scars lacing her pelted showed for it. Still, only worse things would follow if she didn't go with the warrior, so she said a quick goodbye to her siblings.
Stormsurge's withering glare didn't phase her. She got one from everyone every day. She shrugged and followed after him. "Perfect. Exactly how I wanted to spend my morning."

"Enough with the talking," Stormsurge chided, as though the apprentice had been incessantly talking for hours. "We're hunting so be quiet. Now, where do you think we should begin?"
She kept walking, tail lashing, without so much as a glance at the apprentice following after her. This entire day was one big inconvenience for her, there was much more useful, meaningful things she could be doing right now.
Gods. This she-cat was something else. Her ears went back as she trotted along after her. A part of her wanted to egg on Stormsurge, but justice wasn't on her side. Anything, even her own beating, was to be her fault alone with a pureblood like Stormsurge on the opposite side. It wasn't worth it.
"Maybe the lake on the eastern border near SpringClan? It's warmer there so the snow won't be as think." She overheard another pair of apprentices talking about earlier. "Or maybe the northern mountains, if we want a challenge."

"Pah! The northern mountains may be a challenge for the likes of you, but not WinterClan warriors. We'll go there," Stormsurge meowed, turning their paws towards the mountains. "You can, briefly, tell me of your training. Perhaps we can pinpoint why you're lacking so."
She rolled her eyes. Of course they would. This tom really had something to prove. "If you want to be done as bad as I do, then let's just go there and be done with it. While you're there you can drop me off at the border and I can leave." Her gilded green reptilian eyes glanced towards the mountains. "But, just the basics. If that. They don't teach us much." It made sense that Howlingnight and Frostcloud didn't teach them much. If they knew too much, then they could fight back. She and her siblings needed to be cannon fodder. Expendable.

"Pathetic," Stormsurge replied, rolling her eyes as they padded along, "they apparently didn't even bother to teach you to respect senior warriors. You could be quite capable, you know." Every cat could be taught to hunt and fight, every cat would make a decent warrior, this Stormsurge believed. She simply doubted the worthiness of non-clanblood cats to carry the name WinterClan warrior.
"You're right, I could be capable, but this stupid doesn't want me to as good as cats like you." She almost made herself vomit at the last part, but this one seemed like she'd appreciate something like that. Any support, even if it was not-so-passive-aggressive, could save her some trouble down the road. Demons like her were bound to "Why would I respect a Clan or cat who doesn't respect me?" She glanced at the approach peaks, and shivered. She'd never hunted in them before.
