Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Lilacbane walked so closely beside Snowcloak she could have been his shadow. Since his arrival everything had somehow been better even with her punishment. Sharing a nest together finally made everything feel like they were an official couple. No longer two apprentices sneaking around together between borders, but were at a stage where they could be considered responsible parents. However not everything was perfect, not long after their confrontation at the border her mom ordered her that Snowcloak could not be her mate. She had the authority to do so now that she was a Maverick and as such it was harder for them to spend time together. Luckily the two were good at sneaking around at this point, which was exactly why they decided to take a walk around cadence valley and not in the public eye of camp.
"I'm sorry things have been rough," Lilacbane said, "I'm sure my mom will come around and let us be mates," She said, the statement humiliating enough that she needed her moms permission to be mates with someone. She was being treated like a kit, unable to do anything without an authority figure. But according to her mom she had been acting like one, now she was being treated as such.
Lilacbane was close to being due any day now, that couldn't have been more clear when she stopped and winced. False contractions had been happening a lot, but it was no big deal. However when she stopped again she let out a gasp and then a short cry, "Maybe I should lie down real fast," Lilacbane said bashfully, really hoping that she wasn't about to start kitting outside of camp.
Hearing Lilacbane gasp and cry out, he panicked a bit. Was it really happening this time? He knew to expect something some time now, but it had been false alarms for the most part. "Uh, yeah, maybe you should," he said as his eyes darted around, looking for something to use as some sort of bedding. He had no idea what he was doing. "Uh, uh, uh..." Nothing wasn't in the immediate area except for some fallen leaves but he had to make due. Gathering what he could, he placed into the form of a bed. "Here," he said leading her toward the makeshift bed.
"It's okay, it's probably early contractions," She winced, "Why don't you get my mom so you both can help me back to camp, it'll be safer with two cats," She said reassuringly to Snowcloak. After all camp was close enough where if things took a bad turn she could holler for him and he would hear.
"O-oh well that does make sense," he said as started to head back to camp. What if she actually went into labor and he wasn't there? He wasn't at all familiar with DayClan's territory yet so he didn't know what predators lurked out there. "Are you sure you'll be okay by yourself?" he asked, concerned about what could happen if the scent of childbirth attracted some creature.
"Statistically there's more of a chance for birthing complications than any other danger so yes, I think so, I need a medicine cat too," She said decidedly.
CleaverSpot (I need Brakewings and Windchaser to be in camp so when Snowcloak runs to get them they can help out)
Windchaser laid in a sunny spot in the Dayclan camp. She was soaking up the rays of the autumn sun, unbeknownst to her that her daughter was in labor. She saw her head out earlier and assumed her daughter would be fine. Lilacbane was a warrior, now, after all. Windchaser couldn't watch her every minute of the day but she still worried about her daughter especially going out of camp so close to kitting. However, she knew if she smothered Lilacbane any more than she already had, Lilacbane might choose to leave Dayclan for good and she couldn't bear to lose her daughter again.
The tom nodded once. "Of course. You just stay right here and I will be back in a flash," he promised before running off.
Arriving at the camp, he went in search of Windchaser and Brakewings. Fortunately for him, Lilacbane's mother was easy enough to find. He approached her cautiously, their relationship, at least to him, had to improve.
"Excuse me, Windchaser, I dont mean to alarm you, but your daughter may or may be about to give birth and she told me to come get you and the medicine cat." Not waiting on a reply, he headed off toward the medicine cat den in search of Brakewings. Spot
Without Fairytalebride to help him, Brakewings was forced to do more of the busy work in his own den. He was in the thick of it, sorting through shriveled leaves until his eyes were blurring as he carefully sorted them into groups. Normally he would have Darkpaw attend to this kind of work, but she was busy elsewhere, so he was left alone. The ginger tom huffed. He didn't miss being an apprentice and doing this all the time.
He glanced up as he heard Snowcloak enter his den and nodded to him. "How can I help you?"
Seeing leaves grouped and organized over the den floor, Snowcloak assumed the medicine cat was busy and he was intruding. He dipped his head respectfully. "I apologize if I'm distracting you but I need your help with something. My mate, Lilacbane, I think, is about to give birth and she told me to come get you since, you know, the medicine cat." he explained. "If its no trouble to you, would you mind following me?" Cleaver
Brakewings stared at him blankly, wondering how he could be speaking so calmly. The last time he attended a kitting, the father looked nervous enough he could have been the one having kits, but Snowcloak was still so polite.
"Of course," he echoed, shaking away his bewilderment. He swept through his scattered stores and grabbed a pawful of spare herbs just in case, then turned back to the warrior.
The tom let out a sigh of relief. He wouldn't have to find someone else after all. He nodded and exited the den. Hopefully Windchaser would be joining them as well. You would think a mother would want to be there for her grandchildren's birth so there would be no reason not to right? Spot
Windchaser shot to her paws after Snowcloak had given her the news. Instinctively, she darted for the camp entrance but realized she didn't know where her daughter was nor that Snowcloak was following her. Anger fueled through her until she realized the newly joined warrior was heading for the medicine den. The anger instantly vanished and was replaced by a sense of urgency. She paced before the entrance, considering whether or not she should try and track her daughter through the forest but it would take longer and by then, Snowcloak would have already caught up to her. Relief flooded over her as she saw him emerge out of the medicine den with Brakewings at his heels. "Where is she?" Windchaser asked, ignoring her previous fued with the former Moonclan tom.
"Shes not too far from here. I'll you to her," he said as he started off out of the camp entrance. "But we're going to have to sprint though. I don't want to leave her by herself longer than I already have." Hopefully nothing has happened to her while I was gone. "Come on," he said as he began to run at a good clip.
Windchaser didn't have time to go their normal speed. The ginger and white tabby she-cat was well known for her speed, she could make it to her daughter in about half the time they could. "Tell me where she is and I can run ahead and get to her faster." She demanded, running alongside Snowcloak, feeling cramped by holding back her full speed.
To be honest with her, he couldn't her good enough directions off the top of his head for her to get there. He still wasn't too familiar with the lay of the land. He just generally remembered the path he took, but seeing her impatience, he compromised. "By all means, feel free to follow the strongest scent back to her," he said with a hint of annoyance, her tone of voice reminding him of when they first met. "But if you're worried about getting there faster, I can pick up the pace. But it wouldn't do us any good if Brakewings wasn't there as well," he added as he glanced back at the medicine cat. "That is, if you're not able to keep up." Cleaver
Windchaser curled her lip back in the beginning of a snarl. This tom was getting fresh with her and she would not tolerate it. This would have to be dealt with later. She looked back at Breakwings, hoping her old friend would be able to run any faster even though they were nearly running at full speed.
"I can keep up," he asserted calmly. "I was a warrior before I was a medicine cat; I might not fight anymore, but I can still run." The herbs he was carrying would make it more difficult to measure his breathing, but he was confident he could keep up with them. It was important they get back to the queen as soon as possible if there was going to be any issues.
Wonderful. "Well then, let's get going then," he said as he increased his speed. He was more worried about the older cats in his company not being able to keep up, but it came as a bit of a surprise that Windchaser wanted to go faster. Iguess thats why she has that name. he thought to himself. But how fast is she? It was honest curiosity that would have to wait for another time. They had more pressing matters to deal with.

Leading them back to Lilacbane's location, he slowed down as they got nearer. "Lilacbane, I'm back and I brought your mother and Brakewings," he announced. Faith
Windchaser picked up the speed as well but still stayed beside Snowcloak's side. When her daughter came into view, she rushed over to her, skidding to a halt beside her. "Lilacbane! Are you alright?" She immediately began examining her daughter frantically.
(Sorry I neglected the rp! I got carried away from the giant four clan war plot. We can each reply once and then skip ahead to them being born, I'm too squeamish about birth scenes xD)
Lilacbane touched noses with her mom, but wincing sharply, "I'm glad you're here, I can tell they're coming, can you..." She winced this time losing her breath, but got her voice back, "Tell me everything's going to be okay?"
She reached her paw out lovingly for Snowcloak wanting to feel him near her.
