Ew, Twisterdestruction thought bitterly, another leaf is falling. He knew that soon enough leafbare would choke some of the vibrancy out of his world and the bees and butterflies would retreat. It was a sobering thought for the tom who relied so much on his oasis in the flowers, amongst the winged insects he loved dearly. Still, he was a garden keeper now and much to old to pout his day away. Instead, he strolled through the familiar part of his territory, breathing in the clean flower-scented air as though trying to commit every single scent to memory. He was so incredibly focused that the presence of another cat entirely escaped him.
Rosepaw was wandering the wildflowers of fall, much the same as Twisterdestruction. Unlike Twisterdestruction, however, she was not enjoying it. The she-cat, more warrior aged than apprentice aged, was still new to Summerclan, but she knew enough in her two months to know that she was not happy as a Garden Keeper Apprentice. She wanted to fight, wanted to be useful, like her sister.
But she couldn't. She balked at combat, too traumatized by her past and her failures, so they had assigned her here. Some days were better than others, but today was one of the bad ones. The pretty apprentice was stalking around, trying to remember the names of herbs and flowers she'd been told to memorize, and the glint in her amber eyes was sulky and withdrawn. She was distracted, and when she bumped into Twisterdestruction she mumbled an apology, glancing up at him with an embarrassed anger.

sunlight hiya, this is equally late. I apologize ;-;
Twisterdestruction was completely taken by surprise, so much so that a very shrill shriek erupted from him for just a moment. Just long enough for him to jump away and register that it was Rosepaw. Though never much for talking he of course knew of the other Garden Keepers. This one, if memory served, most often seemed tortured by their duties rather than excited by them.
"Ahhh- oh, oh." Twisterdestruction relaxed fully and shuffled a bit, "Rosepaw. Sorry, you startled me. I'm used to being alone out here." He cocked his head as he studied her, "pardon me if I'm overstepping, but you look upset. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," said Rosepaw, though she clearly was not. "You're Twister... Twisted something? Sorry, I'm still trying to learn everyone's names." Before this she had only lived with her parents and her one sister, so names did not come easily to her when she also had to learn herbs and how to plant them.
"And I really am okay," she added after a moment, embarrassed at being caught in her temper. "Just overwhelmed and wishing I could do something else for once."

"Twisterdestruction," he corrected, seeming slightly embarrassed by the name. "But, Roachpelt calls me Twist, if that's easier."
He looked around, taking in the flowers and herbs all around him with appreciation, "do you not like garden keeping?" For him, it was the only role he could see for himself, but perhaps Rosepaw was misassigned. It happened. Another cat, Cherrysky, had been a garden keeper apprentice before deciding to be a warrior.
"I'll call you Twist," Rosepaw said with a small smile, trying to lighten the mood. Her own amber eyes darted around, taking in the same flowers and herbs. Sure, they were pretty, but they were not something she was very passionate about.
"I started off as a warrior apprentice," she said, shuffling her feet. "But they moved me here. I wasn't... very good. Couldn't even bear to kill a mouse." It had been downright humiliating, the way she had stopped in her tracks and cried when she'd tried to hunt for the first time. Despite her fear, she wanted to be a warrior. She just couldn't. "It's okay. It's not hard. It's just... I wanted to succeed as a warrior."

[ I'm really sorry this took ages ;-; ]
"I understand," Twisterdestruction responded, feeling a spark of fondness for this cat who couldn't bear to kill a mouse. "And perhaps you'll be able to one day. Plants aren't for everyone, I know that. Maybe you just... you know, have to find your dedication for being a warrior? I could help maybe."
