Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Clan life was never quite her thing. It was all so rigid and, frankly, she didn't want to necessarily follow anyone. Igziq considered herself quite the capable leader., at the very least more capable of establishing a Clan's territory and not just this casualness that was DayClan. But the relaxed clan had its benefits. She was strolling through their territory on one trip, and just happened to pass through the valley. She needed to sleep, so she found an empty cave and slept their. That morning, someone told her to go out on a patrol. And she did. And that was a week or two ago at this point. The Maverick dozed in a sunbeam outside of her cave. Her bengal fur look as if it were on fire as the she-cat rested, that was until a shadow blocked her light. She opened one of her azure eyes to stare up at the cat that disturbed her. "Hmm? What do you want?"
Lilacbane stood in front of her, one of the many orange tabbies of DayClan. But she always stuck out from her curly Q tail that curled inward towards her back. This time that wasn't the case though, what made her stick out was her protruding pregnant belly, a decent size. "It's Lilacpaw, I'm Lilacbane now." She seemed to notice that she was blocking the felines sunlight and stepped aside, "Desert life got boring?"
Her former apprentice. How delightful. "Dear Lilac, no, I'm just a figment of your imagination. I guess the berries did a number on you after all." She remembered what those berries did to her. Some came out shivering, some stoic, but everyone changed. Lilacbane was one of the stoic ones, a stronger one. "As for me, I'm settling for a change of pace." She gestured towards her pregnant belly. "I'm between litters myself, so I decided to try something new."
"It's sucking pretty bad for me, my mom grounded me when I got back. Now she says I didn't learn my lesson so she made a maverick, she won't even let my mate into my life like he should all because he's an outsider. But hey, I'm pretty sure I'm stronger than her now so at least I have that come back to win a few arguments," Lilacbane reasoned, but grinned back at her, "Guess our kits will play together if you stick around."
Maverick. She'd heard a few cats call her that as well. Maybe it would come up later so she didn't have to ask. Igziq shook her head at the comment about the kits. "I'm between litters. I'm not pregnant, but perhaps some tom here will be worth my time." She chuckled. Kits were a game to her. She was yet to find the perfect game, but she had to figure it out eventually. "If you actually finished your training, then none of this would have happened." She rose to her paws and assumed the same pose she struck when Lilacbane woke in the desert those moons ago. "I would be willing to lend you some of my berries. I'm sure your mother would appreciate them." A devious smile grew across her lips. "Aren't you curious as to what your mother fears?"
"I would love to finish up our training! I just couldn't keep my paws away for long. Not cause of my family or the clan, but I just really liked Snowcloak. I didn't want to disappear on him, he's the only cat around here who's not an absolute pacifist about fighting. If you're still around after the kits are born I'm up for some more training," She winked, but gave her past mentor a teasing smile, "My moms a stuck up fox heart some days but I just couldn't do that to her."
"You can't finish your training. You're well past that." She didn't train people who abandoned their post. It was that simple. If Lilacbane was just a common rogue, she would have rained hell down on her, but being in a Clan complicated that. "If you really wanted to finish it, you would never have left. My training has traditions and commitment, and you disregarded them." She cast her glance down at her belly. "I hope for you kits sake that you've learned at least one of those since then."
"Eh guess that's true," Lilacbane said, "It just went on for soooo long, I mean that sand kick, that took a whole day, that was insane."
She smirked at the Huntress, "I really never saw you as the uppity type. But yeah, don't worry, I plan to raise my kits and all that. Just because I'm not serious all the time doesn't mean my hearts not in it." She said leisurely, she was much more relaxed since the last time the Huntress saw her. Before Lilacbane was very uppity herself, but since taking the herb the Huntress gave her she seemed to be at peace with any stray emotions, more sure of herself. But why wouldn't she be? At this point she had learned cross battle skills from the short desert training she had to DayClan's, to some Primal Instinct and MoonClan moves. It made sense for her personality wise, never able to stay in one focus for long.
"It took a whole day because it required perfection. Without perfection, the desert is death" She did miss the feeling of the hot sands beneath her paws. It was inhospitable most days, but she enjoyed braving the sandstorms and sandstone caves on a daily basis, with and without apprentices and kits. "Kits require that kind of perfection or, interestingly enough, minimal attention. Anything in between messes them up." She dipped her paw in the waterfall next to her. "I made a litter of mine hunt for themselves the moment they were weaned? You know what that means? Scorpions. Snakes. They handled it, quite well I might add." She drew her paw away. "I believe you actually met them."
"I did meet them, they were cute. Are they still living in the desert or did they get bit by a snake or something?" Lilacbane asked nonchalantly. The desert had been an interesting place, she could see herself roughing it out there if she ever became fed up with DayClan. Although she doubted Snowcloak would find it as enjoyable as she did.
"No. I gave them to WinterClan. Nothing special, just a little experiment of mine." She loved her kits, she really did, but they would never grow to be strong if she cared for them until adulthood. "I'm sure they're apprentices by now. Hopefully, they've learned how to speak to them." The bengal got up and walked past the warrior. "Care to join me on walk? You can show me your favorite place on the territory and point me to any notable toms." She licked her lips. "I could use a new litter."
"Trust me, there aren't any notable toms here, that's why I fell in love with a tom outside of here. Every tom cat here is either gay or bland as sand," Lilacbane said simply as she led the she-cat out of camp. "WinterClan's currently DayClan's enemy, just a heads up for you, they've stolen kits and queens from us. It's why security is more rampant lately. Well, that and other things."
She sighed. "Ughhh, you have to be joking." There had to be at least one suitable tom in the whole Clan. "I guess I can whip one or two of the bland ones into shape. Berries do wonders on the mind." She didn't keep her supply nearby, it was still in the desert so no one could find it. "If not, I'm sure I can... convince your mate to spend a night with me."
