Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Fairytalepaw had been seated next to his siblings as the ceremony commenced. He was slumped over, not to anyone's surprise, he did endure quite the attack, which proved all the more that he was ready to become a warrior. But that was the issue, he was going to become a warrior, when was he going to become a medicine cat? Never.
His thoughts itched back to when he was recovering in the medicine cat den. His sight got more blurry by every passing hour. On the ninth hour Yellowmoon, the StarClan spirit told him, Brakewings, and Darkpaw that if he continued his pursuit of being a medicine cat he would lose his sight entirely. That this was going to be his sacrifice, but if he abandoned that dream he would be able to see again. He was willing to sacrifice his sight, he was willing to do whatever it took, but Brakewings made the decision for him.
So he was going to be a warrior now.
He tuned out most of the ceremony, he should have been in tune, they were almost all his family being promoted.
"Fairytalebride."
His yellow gaze looked up in surprise, a short teasing smile on his lips as he looked to his parents. Yeah, typical them, managing to convince Glowstar to get in on the joke. He waited for his real warrior name, but Glowstar moved on. He waited for the entire ceremony. Did he miss it? Or maybe he missed the fact that he was the joke...
He was an fool the entire day, pretending to be fine, waiting for the punchline. By night he was drying his eyes in his nest trying not to wonder if his family was ashamed that he was born a tom. Wondering what Darkpaw would say to him the next time they talked. He gathered every sane emotion together to excuse himself as though he would be gone for a while, but instead he left camp, sitting at the large pond in Cadence Valley. His pelt burned with embarrassment, which was saying something when he couldn't feel anything. He tried to hold back the tears for a moment, but the feeling of shame and humiliation took over as he let his emotions out over the pond.

Fallfling watched as her brother fled the seen of the ceremonies, taking off without saying very much. Her heart sank, knowing all to well that he was upset even though he didn't say as much. Quickly excusing herself, she left the crow letting Sprout clamber up onto her shoulder so that she could run faster to chase after him. She thought she was never going to catch up, but finally he sat down by the pond. She approached quietly, trying not to startle him she let her feet drag across some of the fallen leaves "Hey..." she greeted, taking a seat beside of him and staring deep into the water's surface. But she really didn't know what to say that would bring him in comfort, instead she choose to just be there, and let him take the lead as to how the conversation would go.
As silence settled between them, the reality of the new name she had been given began to settle in. Fling? Like to throw, or ... No Glowstar wouldn't be that mean to her, would she? She had picked out a mean name for Fairytalebride, so why would she be exempt? No this wasn't about her. She pushed her thoughts away, focusing in on her brother. This was about him.
Fairytalebride looked up at Fallfling, rubbing at his eyes more. He looked like he was going to say something, but instead he leaned into her shoulder, sniffling slightly as he tried to regain his composure.
Finally sitting up straighter he managed to leave his eyes bloodshot, but no longer teary, "I..." He gave his voice time to sound right once more, "How could our parents name us something like that? How could our leader approve of them naming us this? I..." His brain was still trying to make sense of it, "These clans are awful!" His furious gaze turned to his sister, "From birth, clan culture has ruined our lives, splitting us up from family. Making it okay to lie about our birth, not allowing us to take the path we want to take. Following religions that only hurt and humiliate those who step out of line, I'm done with the theatrics of it all."
For a moment anger held in the air, but fell last second as he wiped more tears from blurring his sight, "You had the right idea Fallfling..." He said sadly. After a hollow moment he looked back at Fallfling, "I'm going to stand up for myself, are you?"

Fallfling let her tail drape over her brother as he leaned in closer sobbing into her fur. She placed her chin over his shoulder, closing her eyes for a moment just wanting to be there for him "Life has dealt us a cruel hand" she agreed. What even was normal? It was hard to know, everything they had know had be turned upside down. The lies, the betrayal of those closest to them. Now they couldn't even be bothered to give her and her siblings a half-way decent name. Yet even after all that she still cared for them. For the mothers that had raised them, the biological parents who killed gods to be reunited with them.
She remained close, not letting him pull away from her embrace "What did you have in mind?"
"I want to flush out DayClan." He said it so naturally even he seemed to catch himself by surprise, "Not literally! But what I mean is I want to flush out the old rules, the old DayClan and make it something brand new and better. We can do that by sending them omens, something they will listen to..." Suddenly the wheels in his mind began to turn, "Because I'll make the omens and then I'll identify them, and if things don't change I'll make the omen come true and when they do some true they'll see I am medicine cat material. All the while the omens will be pointing DayClan in the direction that change is needed. Fallfling," He exclaimed, staring right into her eyes, "This could work."

Fallfling blinked, lifting her her head back for a moment to look into his eyes trying to decide if he was serious or not. But the look on his face told him everything that she needed to know. He meant the words that he was saying, and honestly why shouldn't it be them that changed with way things ran? They weren't any better than other cats, but they didn't know what it meant to suffer at the hands of deities. The Sun God was cruel and manipulative, and StarClan wasn't much better. They had tried to convince her that they should punish an entire group of cats fleeing to DayClan for protection. She had been so angry back then, only letting it go when they backed off. Perhaps Fairytalebride was right.... Maybe they needed to take this into their own paws, and make the change they wanted to see happen "You're right, it could" she paused taking a moment to compose herself "I'm in brother"
"Then from now on maybe that's just what we call each other, brother and sister. We'll say each others names when we get proper ones we deserve."
He chewed on his paw in thought, "You know, there's something called the Yellow Moon Curse we could try. It can be performed during a moon like this, Yellowmoon told me about it, of course. She said it shifts a person into their most vulnerable form, whatever that means. I can warn them about the yellow moon in connection with the vulnerable and when Brakewings won't believe me, it'll happen. Then, we'll break the curse by giving ourselves new names, proving that this was a message sent from StarClan so DayClan will think better on what they name vulnerable apprentices. And that'll just be the start. Is that too dark?"

Fallpaw listened, nodding slowly after he had finished. It didn't sound like they would be hurting anyone, and perhaps it would help others that were put into similar situations in the future "Perhaps they will think twice" she paused "But what is the yellow moon ritual? What do we need to do to complete it?" she wasn't against some harmless fun to help encourage the clan to go in a better direction, but something didn't feel right about this. If the Yellow Moon Ritual was a good thing than why hadn't she heard of it before? "Brother I am all for guiding DayClan back to the way things should be, but we should be careful or we could become the very thing that we are trying to change"
"I think it'll be fine, there's only so much evil a StarClan curse can accomplish. All you gotta do is collect frosted morning grass, place it in water and leave it there until the moon rises. Then whoever drinks it is affected by the curse. So basically if we do this to the water supply everyone will be cursed. But it only affects cats while the moon is out," He said, but cracked his neck a few times in thought, "I wonder if we should drink the water so we're not suspicious. Or go out on an especially long hunt the entire day to avoid it entirely. I'm sure it'll be fine if we drink it." He said thoughtfully.

Fallfling slowly nodded, it sounded easy enough and rather harmless. Especially if the effects faded after the moon went down. It was temporary, and it didn't sound very painful "Yes we should drink it to" she agreed. She wasn't sure exactly what this curse was supposed to do, but perhaps it would teach the clan a valuable lesson "Brother, I will be with you every step of the way" she purred
