Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
GidgetGalCleaver Tis the thread between Poppymask and Lovearrow and tehri riveraly for Chimerastar's heart! Idk how we want this to go down though sooooo
(No worries! I'll give you guys a starting prompt! ^-^)
The sky was a blanket of cold grey, with a chilly autumn wind blowing across the moors as Ratstar arrived at the place where Chim had discreetly told him Swiftclan was temporarily making camp. It always astonished the Summerclan leader when he visited the nomadic clan; the difference in set-up and lifestyle was so unique, unlike anything he had ever encountered before, even in the twolegplace. As the Scout who had spotted them approaching and escorted them in went to fetch Chimerastar, the brown tabby set down the large bundle of herbs he was carrying on the grass, turning to Poppymask beside him. "Thanks for comin' with, darlin'. I wouldn't of been able t' carry all o' these herbs by myself, an' with Graythorn havin' t' care for an injured apprentice last-minute an' all..."
Lovearrow had been the scout they happened upon. Knowing of the friendship between the two leaders, she'd been quick to fetch Chimerastar. "Chimerastar! Oh, Chimerastar! There's someone here to see you. I think you'll like this visitor." The poor scout was unaware pf the rivalry that was about to happen between her and Poppymask, as she knew not that the other she-cat was just as much in love with Chimerastsar as Lovearrow was herself.
"Someone I'll like?" he echoed, genuinely confused who could have come to see him. "Well, let's go find out." Chim finished his task and headed out of the den to meet the pair of visitors.
Chim glanced Ratstar over once, surprised to see him standing there. Lovearrow hadn't been wrong, though: he did like the other one-eyed leader, especially when he came bearing gifts. "Thank you, Ratstar," he greeted with a slight dip of his head, "SwiftClan appreciates your generosity."
Ratstar's friendly grin only grew wider as the other one-eyed leader emerged from the make-shift den; though they had only known each other for a couple of moons now, the Summerclan leader already considered Chimerastar to be a good friend of his. "Aw, no need t' thank me," he purred in response. "I only wish we coulda gotten these herbs to ya sooner. What happened to Swiftclan just wasn't right, pal."
In slight jealously, Lovearrow wished that Chimerastar was thanking her with as much affection as he was currently showing the leader of SummerClan. With a smile, "yes, thank you Ratstar. It was truly a terrible thing that happened here, but we're surviving now under a great leadership. We couldn't ask for anyone better to lead us in these times." Was she bragging about Chimerastar? Yes, yes, she was. She wasn't afraid to show support and favoritism to her lovely leader. Especially if it boosted his imagine the presence of over leaders. Her leader was the best and she'd stand by that. Sitting tall, back straight and head tilted up in pride, the white she-cat settled herself to join teh conversation even though she'd not been expressly invited.
"It ain't no thing, sugar," Poppymask purred through a mouthful of herbs, attempting to mimic Ratstar's accent although, like with most things, she didn't do a very good job. The flame-pointed she-cat tried to lean into the SummerClan leader's side as the walked but her bulging belly made it difficult. The best she could do was rest her hail-tip awkwardly on his back which was exactly what she was doing up until Lovearrow showed up and lead them away.
"This place is so ugly," Poppymask remarked as they padded through SwiftClan camp. There were no flowers, no flare, just nests and a fresh-kill pile. She couldn't even begin to understand why they wouldn't just settled down somewhere and make a home out of it. She also really pitied the queens who were forced the travel so much; the trip had been short but her paws were aching. To be fair, though, she wasn't exactly in shape, pregnant or not, "I wish you would have told me SwiftClan was so boring, next time we visit I'll have to bring some knock-out roses or something to decorate this place. It's just so dreary! I---"
She stumbled a bit as Ratstar came to a halt, which causes her trademark flower crown to tilt over her eyes. When she shifted it back into place, the first face she saw was Chimerastar's, and her heart skipped a beat.
"You're so handsome!" She gasped, bondi blue eyes shining bright against the auburn mask that framed them. Poppymask was known for saying whatever was on her mind before thinking, so yes she was going to flirt with this new tom, pregnant, with her mate literally right there, "Dear StarClan, I was wondering why all these cats were following you around in this shanty-town of a Clan, but now I know! Please tell me you're free this evening..."
Poppymask was an Alpha female, so far she felt Lovearrow was barely even a blip on her radar, but she still shot her a nasty look while she waited for Chimerstar's response for good measure. That's right, back off.
Ratstar was more than used to Poppymask's...eccentric nature, so her comments on the state of Swiftclan's camp were met with simply a passive 'hum' of acknowledgement; he wasn't sure how often Chimerastar planned to move Swiftclan around, but he had an inkling that roses were far from being on the nomadic clan's mind at the moment. Of course, in hindsight, he probably should've known better than to underestimate his mate's ability to catch him off guard at every turn. The she-cat's pass at Chim was so uncharacteristically bold, even for her, that it warranted a double-take from the Summerclan leader, before he burst out in a fit of laughter. "Dear Starclan, hun!" He managed to get out in-between guffaws. "Give the poor tom a warnin' before ya come on so strong!"
Lovearrow had dismissed the comments about their home, for she too agreed that it needed a little flare. But she wouldn't not sit by while the love of her life was hit on by a pregnant she-cat! A hiss escaped her, "how dare you! Your pregnant and you dare attempt to attract the Great Chimerastar's attention. Have you no shame?!? I knew other cats were unworthy of His mere presence but I never understood the full aduncity they possessed! No wonder Chimerstar never wants to met with any of you! I would never dare such..such disgrace!" Loevarrow was practically in the other cat's face, standing between Chimerastar and the SummerClan cats with full rage on her face at the mere presence of the other she-cat. She'd attack if it wasn't so frowned upon to hurt a queen. Maybe a slap to the face would be a good enough wake up call though for the rat to see that Chimerastar was taken, by Lovearrow no less.
Chimerastar was used to Lovearrow's compliments and ignored her easily; he strove to ignore Poppymask's insults as well, though he did flash the other leader a questioning look. Why would he bring someone to his camp that was going to be so disrespectful? Other leaders would do it to get a rise out of him, but he didn't think Ratstar was that kind of cat. Chim didn't particularly care how ornate his camp looked either, floral arrangements only made his heart heavier with nostalgia, but it was rude of her to come in and point it out.
And then? He really, really wished she was still looking at the desolate camp.
Chim recoiled a little from her words, heat rising into his ears. Of course, every cat that walked into his camp just had to try and flatter him, like they thought he was the type of cat who appreciated it when you lied to his face. "Nice warrior you've got there," he started to mutter to Ratstar when he was interrupted by Lovearrow.
"Really Lovearrow, it's fine," he tried, swishing his tail as he only grew more embarrassed. "She's just joking."
"Oh? You think you can talk to me like that?" Poppymask purred, turning her bondi-blue eyes to Lovearrow, a grin on her face. It wasn't very often that other cats fought with her these days. She missed it. Her clanmates knew better than to engage her, but not so much the cats of SwiftClan, "Wait a minute... I know you! You were one of the SwiftClan apprentices that came to SummerClan for the exchange. We're you the one who got pregnant and had to go home early?" The Queen burst into laughter, she had a very unique one to be sure, it sounded like 'oh-ho-ho-ho-oh!' She lifted her paw up to he mouth to stifle it although really she wasn't trying to.
"At least my kits have a father," She rubbed her face against Ratstar's to prove the point, "And my litter before this had a pedigree too - the kits of Peachstar himself! I have standards. But I guess I shouldn't hold you to them, after all, you live in a different Clan with a very different... atmosphere," Poppymask turned back to Chimerstar and gave him a wink, "Anyways... Thank you for the compliment, I can tell that you are a very nice leader, too." She didn't pick up on the leader's clear distaste of her, either she was stupid or in denial, probably both.
"Joking?!? That's not joking, my dear! She's making a threat on what's mine, what she has no busy even thinking about. I mean look at her! Chimerastar, she's pregnant and yet she dares to act the way she does!" Her fury would not be so easily quilmed, even from words spoken by Chimerastar himself. At least not in this matter. Any other time, then she'd settle, step aside, and allow Chimerastar to do as he pleased and she'd follow him to death. But not over this! She would not be stepped upon, her love stepped upon, her devotion!
Her eyes snapped towards Poppymask. "A failed love interested, yes. Kits yes. But at least I do not go around throwing myself at another clan's cat, at their feet, while pregnant with another's kits. Who's even are they? A random tom, a kittypet lover? Or do you not know?" Her words were sharper, her eyes sharper, and her smile wicked. Lovearrow would play this game, oh how I'd been a while since she could. Let the words fly, especially since her claws could not speak for her. "Who cares what you last litter was sired by? You sull your name and reputation flirting with another's when pregnant with you someone else's litter. What does pedigree matter when the mother has no standards." She ended her words with a hmph, and to turn away for the cat." Chimerastar, shall I fetch someone to escort them away from our camp? I can even post notice that they are not allowed back, at least not with a certain cat in company for her, dare I say, attacks towards our clan."
"Nice warrior you've got there," Chimerastar started to mutter to Ratstar when he was interrupted by Lovearrow.
"Even better; she's my mate," Ratstar muttered back, trying and absolutely failing to hold back snickering behind his paw as the two she-cat's bickering began to escalate. Perhaps his friend would think less of him for it, but he absolutely adored when Poppymask was able to drop her mask, so to speak, and show her true colors like this. His mate had the sharpest mind and tongue in Summerclan, and by the time she had finished with her rant, he was staring at her with a completely lovesick, smitten expression on his muzzle. Though he had to give credit where credit was due; he hadn't expected this other she-cat - Lovearrow, he heard Chim call her - to keep up with his darlin'. It was an impressive feat, one that most even in Summerclan weren't able to accomplish.
But he could see poor Chim tensing up beside him; this was probably enough entertainment for one day. Quickly taking charge, the brown tabby pushed himself in-between Poppymask and Lovearrow, shooting his mate a warning glare to drop whatever smart retort she had prepared. "That's enough ladies," he meowed, as stern as he could muster. "Summerclan's visit 'ere is 'fer good-will, so ya best make peace 'tween yourselves. But if ya must know," he intertwined Poppymask's tail with his own; "Poppymask's kits are mine. I don' see nothin' wrong with a little harmless flirtin', but if Chim's uncomfortable with it, she'll drop it."
(omg they're sakura and ino in the first season of naruto fighting over sasuke!!!!!!) CleaverGidgetGalJadie
Lovearrow practically lost at, no harm in a little flirty? Had the tom no pride?!? Surely, he had some if he was a leader of a clan!! But apparently not, thus just proving that Chimerastar was superior once more. She huffed, put her tail in the air and walked away to stand back in her original place beside Chimerastar. The white she-cat refused to look either the leader or his rude mate in the face, instead keeping her nose turned away and towards the sky.
And things were only getting worse. Chim looked pleadingly at Ratstar, completely out of his element here, but his friend was worse than useless. Was he enjoying this? He couldn't even decide which she-cat was worse or if he was more humiliated or embarrassed, and Ratstar's intervention could not have come sooner.
"Thank you," he replied stiffly. As Lovearrow returned to his side, he felt a strange need to jump to her defense. Chim loathed having her around, he had made her a scout just to have an excuse to keep sending her away from him, and he should have been thrilled to see someone tearing her down. Instead, he was starting to feel a little angry on her behalf.
"Just tell your mate to watch her tongue in the future, and there won't be any issues," he agreed, inclining his head. "I appreciate you coming out here, all the same. And congratulations on ... that," he added with an awkward wave of his tail toward Poppymask, his voice a little bit incredulous, as if he still found it difficult to believe Ratstar was so proud to claim this litter as his own.
"Obviously they belong to Ratstar! What even kind of question even is that? I---" Poppymask was really getting fired up and red faced. How dare this SwiftClan nobody try to drag her name in front of TWO hotties?! That's not how mean girls works! They were supposed to back-stab and be friends to each other's faces, but no, Lovearrow was so stupid that she didn't even know how that worked! She probably would have kept going for quite some time had Ratstar not intervened. When he twisted his long tail with her short stubby one she, for lack of a better term, melted.
"Oh Ratty!" She purred, rubbing her face against his, "Always coming to my rescue! I love you soooo much!" She gave him a kiss right on the cheek while also side eyeing Lovearrow. Her body language said: Look what I can do, peasant! Upon hearing Chimerstar's request to hold her tongue, she very purposefully began to ugly lick Ratstar's face where she had been kissing him, now putting her whole body into it, her front paws all twisted around his, her weight against his shoulder, if he so much as lifted a paw the two would probably both topple over.
She broke eye contact with Lovearrow, redirected her attention to Chimerstar and winked.
Lovearrow was disgusted with the sight before her. Could that she-cat get any worse? I mean truly, she's already undignified and a disgrace but to do something so appalling to and in front of a leader at that! Lovearrow sneered at the ugly sight of the she-cat licking the tom's face like that in public. She was acting childish and not at all like the mate of a leader, how dishonoring to all mates of leaders.
And once again, strangely enough, he was on Lovearrow's side. Watching Poppymask slobber all over the leader was uncomfortable at best, and he averted his gaze, wishing for the first time that he had lost both eyes.
