Duskbriar snorted in amusement as Moon continued on, though she couldn't help feeling a bit nervous at the mention of a river. She'd wanted something smaller; a pond, maybe. Not an entire river. Slowly she trailed after her newfound friend, watching as the small ants clambered over her paws. With a smile, she made sure to step around the hill, and maneuvered her way up to Moon.
"Ants," she answered, watching them with curiosity. "One of natures most impressive workers. And not tasty, so I've heard..." she trailed off, giving a small shake to her head. "Don't ask about it. Anyways; be careful with some of them. There are red ones that bite, and it hurts really bad," she explained, shuddering slightly. She'd had one bite her before, and it hadn't been pleasant.
"What's the purpose of a man if he turns his eyes away, just to throw up both his hands?"

Moon didn't even want to imagine an ant bite. She lept up one more branch, happy she was taller than Duskbriar for once, before dangling herself off of the branch like a monkey.
By now the sun was in-between sunhigh and sunset, indicating they didn't have much time left before it began to get dark. The kittypet finally landed back on the lowest branch with Duskbriar, landing easily on her feet. The petite and small cat bent back down to observe the ants. "...I've never had a friend before." She had never said thank you to someone before, let alone have someone she actually enjoyed in her company. She hesitantly smiled up to the other before sticking her nose back into the ants.
"We have around and hour-or-so left of sunlight, what do you wanna do?" She offered to let the other pick, but mainly because she didn't have any ideas. Her curled tail dangled off the branch along with her left back paw. This was the most she had ever been relaxed away from home. It was a good feeling, to be comfortable in such an unknown place.

Duskbriar watched her for a moment, though the smile she gave was more uncertain and nervous. The last friend she'd had didn't turn out so well, and she was tentative about even opening up. Though, she gave a small sigh and watched as the sky began to change colors; creamy, and soft hues of pinkish-orange. "I've only ever really had a single friend my entire life, honestly. Though she ended up..." she trailed off, closing her eyes briefly before clearing her throat and glancing back at Moon. "Doesn't matter. What I'm getting at, is it's nice to be around someone else for a change."
She stood up and stretched leisurely, yawning. She carefully slipped down the roots, stumbling a little as she went. She'd never been the most graceful, or careful. "We can always head back to the farm. It'll probably be dark by the time we get there, anyways. Plus, the forest won't move, it'll be here tomorrow, and the day after. We can always come back," she said, being careful to side step the ant's again.
