Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
She panted, her breath escaping in huffs. The skinny brown she-cat stumbled through the undergrowth, her ears flattened against her head. The mouse she'd attempted to catch had scuffled away; she'd never been great at hunting. Duskbriar sat down to catch her breath. Being a loner was hard; she definitely hadn't expected that, anyways. With a sigh, she rose to her paws again and began pushing forward. The terrain was new; she'd left her previous den due to some other cats chasing her off. No matter, she would just rebuild and adjust.
That's when she caught a sharp scent; Clan scent. The thought made her stop in her tracks, her stomach churning and plunging with fear. Could she not escape them? The thought didn't last too long. She knew she'd stumbled over the border, but when she turned to cross back over, her legs seemed to disobey her thoughts. She stumbled and fell, smacking her muzzle sharply against a tree. She could taste blood, and she made a curse. She looked frail, and pitiful. The thought of being caught in such a state made her mouth taste bitter.
Too late. The rustle of underbrush told her she wasn't so lucky. She struggled to her paws, her head whipping around and her eyes wild with fight, or flight.
Many of his clanmates were still suffering wounds from the battle with SunClan, and the newly promoted warrior was picking up as much of the slack as he could. Last night he had barely gotten any sleep: after finding extra moss for his den, going out on a hunting patrol, and giving one of the new apprentices a few tips, he had been too cold on the exposed plains to get more than a few hours of rest. He had to keep reminding himself this was a temporary arrangement, that it made sense for a warrior to be a little tired when his clan was struggling so much.
But he still felt slow and sloppy the next day, and it wasn't until he heard a smack and a curse that he realized someone else was hunting near him today. Luckywillow blinked the vacancy from his eyes as he hurried through the brush to check on the other cat.
"Are you alright?" he asked as he emerged. Immediately he stoped and took a half-step backward, noticing the fright in her eyes. "Oh- hey, sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. I thought you were one of my clanmates, and it sounded like you took a fall." The tan tabby studied her closely and though he could smell blood.

She couldn't help the prickle along her spine, her neck fur beginning to stand in alarm. So this was Clan territory? How had she been so careless. Though the tom's words weren't hostile. And there was something different about how the Clan smelled. She didn't know, it'd be so long since she had been apart of one. "Where am I?" she croaked, her voice sounding dry and brittle. She hadn't spoken since she had last met that kittypet, at the barn. Not to mention, how long it had been since she'd gotten a drink. She could feel the thick consistency of blood trickle from her nose. She really did have the worst of luck. In a hasty afterthought, she stumbled in a rush over her words as she added, "I didn't mean to stumble over your borders."
"Well, I don't really know where we are. Nowhere important, I think." Luckywillow glanced sideways at her and seemed to accept that wasn't a helpful response. "Oh - you're near SwiftClan's camp now. We're traveling cats looking for a new place to settle down. Maybe that's why you didn't know we were here," he suggested. "We only settled here a few days ago, we won't be staying long, and..."
The warrior paused again, and shook his head once. "Sorry. You're already bleeding, you don't need me talking your ear off. Do you want to see our medicine cat?"
