Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
She was supposed to gather moss for the kits and queens, as an initiate, but also an apprentice she was supposed to take on more chores and considering that there were three clans within SunClan territory that meant she was pretty busy. However most of the moss was thin and frozen to stone. Her claws were getting dull from scratching them across the cold stone in an attempt to gather them, "Ugh! Pretty people shouldn't have to work. You get that right Luna?"
Luna was another apprentice, Eclipsepaw originally, but was going through the initiation process, "Um... I think if we keep looking we'll find some thicker morsels. We don't want the thin ones unless there really aren't any left. Plus we have to work twice as hard since my mom can't help us anymore."
"Omigash someone just HELP ME," Amber whined more.
The sound of claws on stone caught Lovepaw's attention, as it echoed through crisp air. A light layer of frost had coated SunClan's territory, but compared to the under clans that were burred underneath the snow, he considered their current situation to be rather agreeable. The long furred amber tom made his way over to the she-cats, his pale silver eyes shimmering against the backdrop of the frosted landscape. "You really have no clue what you are doing... Do you?" he asked, the warmth of his voice, indicated he was simply teasing the two sisters. It didn't take more than a glance, for him to figure out that they were initiates.
"Oh my gosh, thank-youuu, you get it!" Amber said, a smile playing at her lips, "I'm helpless, now be a strong tom and show us how it's done."
Luna rolled her eyes and continued to delicately work on scraping tiny shavings off the moss which would be impossible to actually use for a nest. Still she didn't want to come back empty pawed. She really wanted to pass so she could be with her mom and sister. SunClan seemed a bit disapproving of her, but they were never rude to her either, in fact the only person who was rude to her was Amber, "We don't need help, we're doing chores so we can prove ourselves. Not prove that we're helpless, Amber. If you want help, go ahead, but I can't let them think that I'm needy."
"She's so judgmental," Amber scoffed, in the most judgmental toned voice she could muster with a teasing curve of her lip.
"I couldn't just pass by, and leave two lovely ladies struggling in the bitter cold" he replied with a charming smile as he hopped down in between the two of them "However, you are both initiates, so unfortunately I am unable to do your work for you. All I can offer is some advice, and my pleasure of my company"
He sat down glancing at the poor excuse of moss that they were trying to gather from the stones. Moss was difficult to come by this time of year, but they were no doing themselves any favors by searching for it here "You might have better look in your search if you go to the waterlogged ruins. Moss likes to grow near water, and I bet that there might still be a few good patches of moss growing on the wood there. The moss here has been so damaged by the frost, that I'm surprised you have managed to gather that much"
Amber kicked a rock with pouty demeanor, "I'm Amber by the way," she smiled.
Ruby flames kissing against her satin pelt with flecks of gorgeous bronze and silver light traced the tips of her white fur like fairy lights creating an angel of gilded fire. From her honey brown eyes, red bleeding stripes streamed down her pelt creating a look of a bleeding gilded tigress. She placed a white paw over his, "What's your name?" Her voice was low like a whisper with a delicate annunciation to each word.
Luna rolled her eyes and already began to head off to where the tom suggested.
"Lovepaw at your service, my dear lady" he replied, he glanced upwards, the strawberry blonde freckles underneath his eyes giving the impression that the was blushing. He had to admit that for an initiate, Amber wasn't half bad looking. Had she been a full member of SunClan, perhaps he would have even considered her a potential love interest. For now she would make an interesting little play thing to bide his time. Should she make it through SunClan's initiation of course. "Would you ladies like me to escort you to the Waterlogged ruins? Although i'm sure you are more than capable of handling the hidden dangers of our territory"
"Yeah sure," Luna said, there was no harm in having a guide, but cflearly Amber wanted something else out of this cat. Likely for him to do all the work for her, that was never exactly her thing. Amber was always a pretty little thing that no one could bare witness do any hard work without someone swooping in to save her.
"Then it shall be my pleasure to escort you fine ladies" he flashed a charming smile, before turning to bound off in the direction of the ruins. Like most SunClan cats he walked with his head tilted towards the sun, and his tail high and fluffed out. Not only was it a sign of his confidence, but it boarderlined on the side of arrogance.
"This path will lead us to the Waterlogged ruins, but this time of year we must be wary. With the break in winterstorm, many predators will be out in search of food" although he spoke of warning, he didn't seem all that concerned about the possibility
Luna was holding back a groan as she followed, it was like having two Heatherpaw's, "Yeah, okay no problem."
Luna seemed more confident than she logically should. She had her fathers more stumpy kittypet looking build. She was about average size for a cat, but still, with her flattened ears she couldn't hear as much and her eclipse looking eye looked injured, like she couldn't see well out of it, but so far didn't demonstrate that such a thing was true. Her nose wrinkled a bit, "So do SunClan cats really not care that us apprentices go off on our own like this or do they just not care cause we're initiates?"
"Oh my gosh, has anyone literally ever told you that you have the cutest tail wag! Adorbs," Amber said, probably ignoring literally everything Lovepaw said.
"You are initiates, so this is all part of proving your loyalty to the clan" he shrugged, after all if they did do something to betray SunClan, they would be punished during their ceremony by the sun god. He would leave the judgments up to him. After all what they did while the clan wasn't watching mattered more than how the behaved in front of the other SunClan members.
Then he turned his attentions back to Amber and winked "Your not the first to notice, but thank you my lady" he replied giving it a little shake. After all if you got it, flaunt it. It was all just part of the game he liked to play.
"It's impossible to be loyal to a place that forced us out of our homes and stripped us of our rights. We can't even go to gatherings or pray to StarClan for help," Luna said, but sighed, "But my mom said this is important for the family so I've been trying really really hard to look past it. It's just so hard when I go back to camp and see the sorrow and pain that this clan has inflicted on so many cats. I feel like I'm joining the dark forest," She hissed.
"Ugh, Love, can you even believe? She's such a mess, I keep telling her that she's gotta get over herself," Amber said, rolling her eyes.
Luna stared back at Amber with a betrayed expression, "They've taken all the kits and people are starting to say that they killed someone" She whispered the last part.
"So? Our fat lazy kittypet clan mates probably deserved it if they did," Amber shrugged.
"SunClan is only trying to bring into the light of the sun. Things may seem bleek, but those that are accepted as the Sun God's chosen will be given a freedom that you can only imagaine" he did not say what happened to those that were not accepted into the clan. "Those are just rumors deary" he replied with a smile, trying to give her a little confidence
"SunClan would never harm those that are working hard to learn our ways, so you have nothing to worry about. We would like for you to join us, how would killing someone acomplish that?"
Luna felt behind her ear nervously feeling the feather of protection her mom had picked for her when she was born. Everything would be okay... Dream and her would grow up as just SunClan warriors. Was that humiliating? It wasn't like they had a choice, they weren't defeated in battle, Foxstar had grabbed multiple kits hostage and what else was there to do. And plus she was an apprentice, she was already supposed to be made a warrior last moon so she was more than ready.
"Yeah okay, you're right. I just get really worried for my sister is all and with my mom pregnant and my dad forced to not visit her I feel I have to be the one to watch out for everyone. I guess I'm getting pretty paranoid," Luna admitted.
"I mean like, no. You probably will be killed, I mean like you don't get a cult vibe and peaceful clan without bloodshed, I can tell you that. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I'm just saying don't be stupid, dummypaw," Amber said to Luna who stopped walking with wide eyes as Amber walked past her. She turned her head back to Lovepaw, "So are we any closer? And does this place have any good rocks to sharpen my claws on, they got really dull back there from trying to tear off that tattered moss. Hate to lose that gorgeous shine they have."
"It's just up ahead" he pointed with his paw. "It's not known for it's stones, but you might find a few" he replied as he looked between the two sisters. Luna seemed really worried about the initation, and who could blame her if Amber was whispering such things in her ear.
"You have nothing to worry about deary. The initiation is a rather simple test" that much was true. Everything was decided in mere moments. He couldn't say more than that, for it was forbidden. "A lot of SunClan members have been through the initiation, and once you are done you will be welcomed into the clan with open paws"
"Hey Lovepaw, since you're born here do you have to go through some initiation thing too? Obviously cause we're outsiders ours is probably a bigger thing for us to do, but do you have to do some big task before becoming a warrior or is it the same hunting and fighting test as any clan?" Luna asked, trying to change the subject, but fear was still lit in her eyes. She seemed dedicated, especially dedicated enough not to give up. It wasn't long ago that she was found freezing cold with a rabbit in her jaws that she chased half way into DayClan territory just to bring back to SunClan. But her fear from all the rumors made her uncertain about SunClan. If she was kidnapped by herself she likely would have never heard any rumors of initiates being killed, but with two outsider clans rumors got around.
"Sort of" he replied, not really sure of how to respond. He wasn't allowed to speak some of SunClan's secrets, but they were initiates. Part of their job was to learn about their new clan. He thought about how to word his answer.
"All cats born into SunClan have already been chosen by the Sun God. We don't have to prove our devotion to him. Instead we are promoted when our mentor, the priestess, and the sun god see that we are ready to serve him"it was true enough, but was vague enough that he wasn't breaking any rules either. Sometimes it was tricky to answer others while still adhearing to the rules.
