Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(Hey I wanted to do a fun rp between Dapple and Dusky if you're interested!) cookie
Duskslayer was the new priest promise of SunClan, but the whole thing likely felt strange to many cats. The last any SunClan cat saw of Duskslayer he was leaving the clan with his mate on peaceful terms. He was sent on a missionary trip in Renegade Regime. Now he returned to SunClan with four kits and the title of Priest Promise rather than someone who had been faithfully living in SunClan the entire time. Not to mention all of his siblings lived in SunClan, but betrayed and left it including his father, there was little reason to believe he would be loyal still. But even so Bloodystar didn't trust anyone so he must not be just anyone.
Today Dapplebreeze was told to meet with Duskslayer for an evaluation, whatever that meant. Duskslayer was sitting in the interrogation room when she entered. The entire den in the janus camp was sound proofed intentionally so the cries of anyone interrogated couldn't be hard, but Duskslayer had different intentions. "Dapplebreeze, hello, I'm Duskslayer, it's a pleasure to meet you," Duskslayer introduced. After all he had left before she was born, the two had never met until this moment. "I've heard a lot of promising things out of you, I hope you don't take this room as intimidating, I just know SunClan has a nasty habit of listening into conversations," He promised.
Dapplebreeze entered the room hesitantly. She had yet to see it be used for its true purpose, but it smelled strange and tangy and wrong. It smelled like fear. Instantly, the she-kit was on edge. The tom standing in front of her seemed nice enough though and she relaxed.
"Nice to meet you sir," she said, shoving her shoulders back and puffing out her chest. Promising things? That was exciting. The Janus smiled big for him. "What am I being evaluated for? I haven't been trained in much yet, but I promise I'll try my hardest!"
Duskslayer visibly brightened as Dapplebreeze did, she reminded him of his daughters. Hopefully he would do her proud and bring SunClan to a better place.
"There's not really an evaluation, I only said that so the warrior who came to get you wouldn't know what we're really talking about. You see, there's been a lot going on in SunClan and you've been here through all of the main events. So what I would really like to know is what concerns you have for SunClan. We can talk about any topic you would like and anything you tell me will stay in this room. Obviously I can't fault you if you don't believe in that, but I do promise you that I will not sacrifice the privacy of this room. My goal here is to earn SunClan's trust because if we don't start speaking honestly about our concerns they'll never be solved if everyone pretends things are okay. And I can never have that if I brought people into this room and immediately blabbed what everyone said. So I can confidently tell you it would be detrimental for me to reveal anything we say. You can speak as freely as you would like," Duskslayer explained.
The Janus nodded seriously as Duskslayer spoke. She was trying to follow what he said carefully, just in case this was an evaluation after all. After listening, Dapplebreeze picked honesty.
"I don't understand what happened with Littlestar," she said, thinking. "Bloodystar wants to help SunClan, but I liked it how it was before better. Cats seem scared now. Even my best friend left. Why won't Bloodystar work together with Littlestar - I mean.. Littlecrow?"
"So when Bloodystar causes the clan stress by intimidating SunClan and making some members leave it causes you distress because you know things don't have to be this way?" Duskslayer asked to clarify his understanding. He did nod though at the mention of Littlecrow, "Bloodystar's right, SunClan law is meant to be followed, but both past priestesses broke these laws for their own gain. Even if morally they did the right thing, they both broke SunClan code and as next in line it was Bloodystar's job to make sure both of them were punished. Even though, as I said, they morally did the right thing. It does say a lot that the right thing is against the law in SunClan. Have you told anyone else these feelings?"
Dapplebreeze shrugged. "Just my friend." Things were so confusing. Sure, she thought the law was important. But she also thought what was best for SunClan was important. And maybe that meant the law needed to be different. Duskslayer was really helping to put her thoughts into perspective. "Do you think .. does that make me a bad SunClanner? To think the law is wrong."
"I think it makes you more of a good person then the mindless soldier you're expected to be," Duskslayer said, sitting down next to her, "SunClan is supposed to be what the Sun God tells us it is to be. But I like to think that we're a part of that process. Before the Sun God was executed he was a representation of what is holy, righteous, and good, but he wasn't. Now that he's reborn, I'd like to think he doesn't represent those things, but are all those qualities. I pray that you live in a better generation than the ones the past generations lived in. They had to tip toe around the Sun Gods wrath or be shamed, humiliated, beaten, and-" He paused, remembering the last fatal sin the Sun God committed. Abusing a queen who was his soothsayer no less, killing her kits. "Just bad things. So, until we meet the Sun God again I think you should keep this between trusted friends. Your secrets safe," He smiled, but added, "And if he comes back mean I'll make sure to keep you safe, okay?"
She watched as Duskslayer sat next to her, curling her tail around her paws to listen. Dapplebreeze really admired this cat and she was grateful to have had this conversation with him. "You are really smart," she replied. And really nice, too. SunClan still had good cats after all. "Thanks for helping me figure things out. We're trusted friends now, right?" She leaned forward to boop noses with him in a friendly gesture.
