Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Fallenkit this is Snowbunny, he's going to teach you all about how to make good luck charms for the clan," Dottymask introduced. Most kits would be outside batting snowflakes or playing a game of moss ball, but Dottymask's kits were always doing something. Because of their demon background Dottymask was determined to give her kits the best shot at being equal to the rest of their clanmates. Fallenkit was by far the most well behaved of her litter so she wanted to give her the best shot at being a proud adored member of WinterClan. If Fallenkit could be seen working along side a knight she would have great social standing by apprenticeship!
"Hey Fallenkit, nice to meet you," Snowbunny said in a bold face lie to her face. He met her the moment she were born, watched Wintrystar give her that cruel name to symbolize the fallen path her mother took. The Gods had told him to leave her and her siblings out in the snow, promised him that they wouldn't freeze, but by morning they would be fine. That this would prove to WinterClan they were worthy, instead he chose not to because he didn't believe them. Instead he told Wintrystar to give them cruel names in exchange for their lives, but he wondered if he did the right thing. Although he was intimidated by her demon lineage he still felt he owed her.
"Don't mess this up," Dottymask whispered in a sing song voice directly into her daughters ears before moving away and smiling brightly to Snowbunny in a smile that didn't reach her eyes, "You two have fun, okay?"

Fallenkit peered up at Snowbunny from where she hid partially behind Dottymask's legs. After her last run-in with a strange warrior, she'd become very nervous around them. She didn't want to be dragged back to the demon again. Her wariness dissipated slightly as she heard what they'd be doing though. Charms sounded fun. She almost never got to do anything fun. Padding up to her mother's side instead, Fallenkit dipped her tiny head in greeting. "Nice to meet you too," she mewed softly, not sensing a hint of distate from him.
As the hot breath of Dottymask's whisper reached her ears, she curled into herself a bit. She didn't understand why the she-cat was always so mean to her. She wasn't like her siblings. But as Fallenkit had tried to convince them, she took it as her way of showing love and affection. Even if she wasn't biologically their mother, she had to love them like one... "Yes, mama."
"Take care you two," Dottymask said with a wave before leaving.
Snowbunny clenched his jaw watching the so called mom leave. Everyone in the clan knew Dottymask beat all of her kits, but not everyone agreed that she was awful for doing so. Some saw her as a saint for taking in demonic kits, but for him at least it sickened him. Maybe it was because he was there when Bluejay had just given birth, he had seen her, knew there was no evil omens about the kits. Nonetheless it was hard living with himself for standing by when everyday he heard the kits tiny pleas and cries.
He sucked in a breath, he couldn't focus on that, plus this was supposed to benefit Fallenkit's future. "So you're actually going to be the first person I teach this too," Snowbunny said cheerfully, "How much do you know about the Death Goddess and Life God?"
Snowbunny was shorter than most toms, pure white with tall pointed ears and shaggy bangs covering his eyes completely.

Fallenkit watched Dottymask leave with a pang of disappointment, but also with a sense of relief. The emotions tugged at her in confusing ways, but she swallowed them both down and turned back to the shaggy tom. It excited her to hear she'd be the first one he taught, but her enthusiasm was mostly overridden with curiosity. She wondered why she was the first and why she was the only one here right now. Wouldn't other kits want to be part of this too? The ones that were pure and respected? "I... um..." she began, digging through her mind for knowledge about the Gods. "The Life God is really good! And the Death Goddess is in the moon?" Her mismatched eyes darted away from his briefly, expecting him to not approve of her answer. Tensing her muscles, she braced herself for a blow.
"Both of those are correct, but the Death Goddess is good too. Sometimes I like to think the Life God makes beautiful and ugly souls, that he isn't perfect in his craft. But the Death Goddess loves all of his creations and when their journey is done she accepts all of them into her embrace. If death was gone there would be no balance, same as life, you cannot have one without the other. Same as the moon and sun, same as good and bad, both most coexist in harmony. That is why, although today we will be making good lucky charms we cannot rely on these. People must be allowed to live their own lives and experience bad luck as well as good luck, but never only one. How about you gather some leaves and we can start making some," Snowbunny suggested.

Fallenkit's eyes popped open again and she nodded along to his explanation, clinging to his every word. Some of it was too complicated for her to completely grasp, but she suddenly felt like the Life God wasn't as good as she had first said. If he was the one who created her the way she was, wasn't he the one making her siblings and her suffer? The direction of finding leaves pulled her from those thoughts however, and she scurried off with a determined "okay". Leaves weren't so easy to find in the camp, but she managed to retrieve a fair amount from some bushes as well as a few fir leaves that had collected on the ground. It took two trips for her to deliver her haul back to Snowbunny, and when she had finished the task, she beamed up at him. "Is this enough?" she mewed.
"Plenty, Fallenkit that was so helpful!" Snowbunny purred as he laid out her leaves, commenting on a few being plucked out in a good state.
"Okay, now when we make a good luck charm we need to draw a circle, two lines one through the top and bottom of the circle, and then a flower in the center," He explained as he drew it out. Interestingly his flower were three small wobbly lines moved in a circular pattern with two more circular wobbly lines in the center. "Can you practice that in the snow before we move onto doing that on a leaf?"

Watching Snowbunny's drawing with bright eyes, Fallenkit let out a few "oohs" and "ahhs". Drawing was not something she'd ever done before. In fact, the she-kit passed most of her time by doing nothing but watch her siblings. Normally that entailed listening to their constant complaints about Dottymask and the clan. "Okay!" she mewed when the tom asked her to practice in the snow. It was a good idea since she'd never done anything like it. Carefully, she brought the tip of her paw to the snow and dragged it in a circular motion. Stepping away to admire her work, she realized that it had ended up very shaky and uneven. Chewing her lip in concentration, she added the lines. They were slightly better but still rough, and her flower was more or less just a blob. Fallenkit smiled at her work before she glanced once more at Snowbunny's. Seeing his much smoother design made her joy crumple and she let out a disappointed sigh. "Mine looks bad" she murmured with her gaze on the blob in the center of her circle.
"This is what a first try looks like, it's not bad for a first time, I promise," Snowbunny said with a soft smile, "But when you do get it."
He drew the symbol over the leaf and placed his paw down on top. When he removed his paw from the leaf she could see a glow emitting from the symbol before vanishing completely leaving the symbol shimmery, "You'll be able to make it authentic someday too, I'll make sure of it."

Slowly, her mismatched eyes lifted from her design and she returned his smile. His reassurance in her abilities made her feel something she'd never really felt before. She felt warm and relaxed, excited... and well, happy. It wasn't a strong feeling, but it was something she'd miss if it were to disappear anytime soon and she predicted it would. Her gaze shifted down to the movement of his paw as it drew the symbol and then rested atop the leaf. Fallenkit had no idea what to expect but as he withdrew his appendage to reveal the brief glow and the resulting shimmer, her face lit up in amazement. "Oh my gosh! What was- How?" she exclaimed as her eyes darted about the leaf and then back up to Snowbunny. "Was that magic?"
Snowbunny nodded, "Not every warrior of the stars can do this, only those with an innate spiritual quality to them. However I have a feeling that you can do this just as I can. Wintrystar doesn't understand this yet, but the divine approved of you living despite what you are. They always have seen potential in you and your siblings, I see it too. You're all meant for greatness," He promised her.
(We can fas forward to when she's an apprentice? By then Snowbunny will have spent a moon in solitary confinement and recently released because he sides with the demons over Wintrystar.)

Was he telling the truth? Did he really mean it? Fallenkit had never heard anyone say something so kind to her or her siblings. Not even Dottymask had treated them so nicely. "Despite what you are" echoed in her mind, but she forced the praise to overcome the words. No matter how many times she was told she was cursed, she'd never believe it. Destined for greatness though? She hoped he was right. "Thank you," she mewed, only then realizing the wetness of her eyes.
