Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"This time of year, SunClan has always seen a slight shortage of prey. After leaf-fall follows leaf-bare and our food source dwindles as they bed down for the coming shift in temperature. Despite so many traitors abandoning the Clan, the Sun God has graced us with many new mouths to feed, and, as our numbers swell, so does out need for more and more prey sources," Bloodystar's voice rang out across camp. As always, he looked handsome and well-groomed, save for three parallel scratches across one of his cheeks, fresh evidence of Lionpride's disobedience, "Unfortunately, the territory has been changing due to the Sun God's absence... Many trees and shrubberies have wilted and died, water sources have begun to dry up and, as such, the prey that feasted upon those resources have moved on to greener pastures. To be blunt, as many of you have likely already concluded, SunClan is suffering a prey shortage, and an unprecedented one at that. All because of that traitor Littlecrow's decision to murder our beloved deity who has, for as long as any cat remembers, insured the fertility of our land and success of our Clan."
He voice rose toward the end of his first announcement as anger burned in his heart for the High Priestess that had so betrayed him. He paused for a few moments and scanned the eyes of the clanmates, gauging their reactions, but continued before anyone had time to speak out. When he spoke now he spoke with contagious energy and conviction.
"But do not worry, for the Sun God will always provide for us, one way or another. We are not totally without prey. In fact, we probably has just as much as any of our neighbors, just more mouths. Until our prey returns to adequate levels, most of the Clan will continue to eat as we always have, although portions will be more closely monitored to ensure that no cat is hoarding or over-eating. The prisoners, however, will be fed half portions, which will decrease and increase as we have the stocks to support them. The prisoners's support of Littlecrow's choices is reason enough to do this, but also bear in mind that their number includes many valuable hunters, no longer able to assist in supporting our Clan. It is only fair that they bear the blunt of this unfortunate circumstance."
Not entirely true, not entirely false. He was sugarcoating the situation quite a bit. Bloodystar could not afford a panic, but prey was getting really, really low, watching portions wasn't going to cut it in the long run, but it would for now.

Weed could not help the way her lip curled as the high priest spoke. She did not for a second believe that the lands have dried up due to the death of the false deity. She fully believed the true Sun God was in fact punished Sun Clan. Punishing them for the way they have treated each other, and for the actions taken against the high priestess. How was she, Weed wondered. Was she even still alive? The tortoiseshell could feel her tail lashing as she continued listening to the high priest as his anger boiled over after he mentioned Littlestar. The initiate stood to her paws, her green eyes fixating on the high priest. “Would it not make more sense to have the prisoners help the rest of the clan?” Were questioned. “With a shortage of prey and more mouths to feed it may be a good idea to have more paws helping to provide food. Or shall the rest of the clan work themselves to exhaustion in an effort to ensure the clan’s survival? It is no secret that our numbers have dwindled, high priest, with those loyal to the former high priestess escaping Sunclan and the rest of the warriors locked away. Why make it harder for the rest of the clan by excluding a valuable number of cats from the hunt?”
"I'd bite my tongue if I were you." Hemlockshadow growled softly to Weed in what was supposed to be friendly advice and not at all a threat. The large tabby had recently initiated, having been the first cat to take the leap of faith in SunClan's new trials. He turned to look at the initiate, clear boredom written on his expression as he regarded her. "What exactly do you hope to gain by provoking him? You already lost your rank and your name. If I didn't know any better I'd say you want to be thrown in prison." Nova

“Since when is a harmless suggestion a provocation?” Weed shot back as she leveled Hemlockshadow with a cool stare. “If there truly is a shortage of prey, would it not make more sense to have all able bodied cats helping to provide for the clan?” The tortoiseshell didn’t acknowledge his comment about her demotion. Instead she glanced back up at the high priest. “It’s no secret that Sunclan has shrunk in size. You yourself said that there were skilled hunters confined in the prison cells. Is it truly wise to let such talent wither where as they can help the clan? And some of the cats in those prisons have committed no crimes, they were simply condemned for their partners actions. If Sunclan is to survive then we should make use of everyone that is able to hunt, or you’ll find yourself with exhausted warriors who can no longer stand because of their constant excursions into the territory in the hopes they can bring just a small morsel back.” @samiam
Azura didn't believe a word of it. She always skeptical of everything the High Priest did, but this just... didn't add up. In DayClan they knew when the shortages came and went. They never held a meeting about it. Everyone just knew. Unless SunClan cats lacked that attentiveness to their territory, which clearly wasn't the case, then why mention it at all? The initiate turned to Romancefable and whispered "If it's not unusual, why would he call us to announce this?" She turned her gaze back to Bloodystar. "He's lying about something. Well, something else." Raykit dug her claws into the earth. If only she could get her paws on Littlecrow, she could teach her a lesson! She didn't quite comprehend the seriousness of the announcement, but it was start.
"Since the cat suggesting it has forsaken the right to speak their mind" he replied lazily, looking at her with disappointment as though the answer should of been obvious. "You're an initiate, technically no longer a member of SunClan your opinion is as worthless as it is stupid. If the prey is hiding already, sending out even more cats will only scare the remaining prey away, fewer hunting patrols and rationing out the prey we do find will mean more prey in the long run rather than trying to catch all the prey at once." As he spoke the tabby lowered himself to the ground so that he was laying down, resting his head on his paws, as he regarded her with very little interest. "Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's the wrong approach." Nova

Weed couldn’t help but scoff at his words. She did her best to remain calm as she glanced back over at him. Her whiskers twitched slightly as she addressed him as calmly as she could. “The only… foolish one here is you, Hemlockshadow. I did not say anything about sending more cats out at the same time. Perhaps you should get your ears checked. I’m sure our dear high priest wouldn’t mind helping with that. I am only suggesting that perhaps it would be better if more cats were able to help. Obviously Bloodystar would not send out multiple patrols at one. I did not think I would have to spell that much out, but I’ve been wrong before.” She said with a slight shrug. “All I’m saying is that the more cats we have to help, the easier it may be on the rest of the warriors. What was that term… oh yes… taking shifts, I believe?” The mottled tortoiseshell flicked her tail as she held her head up high, as though she were still the warrior she was before. “And I never once said that I didn’t like it. Making a suggestion does not immediately mean the disapproval or dislike of something. So perhaps you should not put words in the mouths of others and use your head for once.” @samiam
The dark tabby stared at her for a moment, like she'd just tripped over her own paws before blinking slowly. "Oh! right, my bad you can't see your own face. The look you gave Bloodystar when he announced his plan made it look as if you merely disagreed with what he said, but maybe you just had a bad mouse or two. Any cat would make the same mistake in their Assumptions." Stifling a yawn he stretched out, and rolled onto his back so that it was less of an effort to meet her gaze. "If we're working in shifts there's no need to involve more cats in hunting because, by the time their shift rolls around again the cats will have been well rested, there'd be no need to have cats lingering around the camp doing nothing. If you want to help so bad why don't you volunteer to go hunting more instead of volunteering others?" Nova

The mottled tortoiseshell ignored his gaze and simply focused on picking out the few bits of dust that clung to her pelt. If there were any. Weed was always very conscious about the way her pelt looked, especially before clan meetings and ceremonies. Her ears twitched occasionally as she listened to the tom speak. She couldn’t help the short laugh that escaped her throat. Weed brought her paw up to her muzzle as she shook her head slowly. “Oh? You mean the way my lip curled? Is that not the normal reaction a cat should have when hearing such distressing news? Or should we all be as emotionally stifled as you? Forgive me for showing my emotions. As for your other little statement, I’ve done nothing but provide for my clan. So much so that I’ve had to take multiple trips to the red hot springs to heal my blistered paw pads. The ground is not exactly the coolest. It’s true that Sunclan cats are born to handle the heat and ground below our paws, but even we have our limits. Any clever cat would understand such things.” @samiam
Bloodystar allowed his clanmates to murmur to one another for awhile, listening particularly close to Weed's complaints, given she was speaking the loudest and at times directly to him. He called the Clan's attention back to himself then leveled his gaze with the mottled tortoiseshell she-cat.
"You would be wise to demonstrate more respect to the full Warriors of SunClan," He was referring to Hemlockshadow specifically, he had a newfound respect himself for the former initiate who so quickly came to his defense, "The prisoners are more than welcome to join our ranks so long as they publicly denounce their loyalty to Littlecrow and swear their fealty to the Sun God and myself. While I cannot welcome them as full members of the Clan until the Sun God has passed judgement, I am willing to allow them some privileges... however, no prisoner has accept this mercy yet, and I will not put a single one of my Warriors in harm's way. These prisoners are dangerous."
Bloodystar drew his paw along the scratches on his cheek. They were far from life-threatening but they looked painful and nasty, likely to scar, "Just yesterday I went down to the prisons to distribute rations, and I was attacked. Littlestar's followers are restless and desperate. They know that they have done wrong but are too afraid to admit it. Once they do, I will trust them, but until then it is not worth the risk. I ask you all...," He gestured to the entire Clan, "...will continue to keep the Sun God close to your heart by praying to him daily and acting honorably as he would. We are his chosen. The largest, strongest Clan that there is. We will get through this because we always do."
Swelteringeclipse was sitting near the edge of the crowd with one of her adopted sons, listening to her clanmates murmur around her. She had remained neutral until Bloodystar brought up the prisoners being dangerous and a low growl rumbled in her chest, her only duaghter had been thrown into a dark cell and was now being labeled as a prisoner with the rest and for what? Absolutely nothing. The older she-cat stood up and glared at the High Priest. "What a load of cra-" her yowl was cut short as Heartbreaker slapped his paw over her mouth and pulled her to the ground.
The ginger tom glared at the she-cat who had raised him and shook his head before stealing a glance at Bloodystar, hoping the tom hadn't seen who the words had come from. He knew Pollendrone would have his head if he hadn't of stopped their mother.

Troublemaker moved in front of their mother, placing his tail over her eyes as his brother stopped her from speaking about before turning around "Mother you must be really tired, lets get you back to your nest"
The black and auburn flecked queen pushed her sons away from her gently and looked at them in turn. "Of course I'm tired, my duaghter and your sister is in prison." Her voice was more hushed now, but she didnt give any indication that she would be retreating to her nest. "If he touches a single hair on her then it's me he will have to deal with." She made it clear that it wasnt a threat but a promise, though she was not yet aware that harm had already befallen Pollendrone.
Heartbreaker looked at her for a second and then turned his eyes to his twin with a questioning look. what should we do? he mouthed to him, so Swelteringeclipse wouldnt hear.

Romancefable was quiet for a few moments, and simply listened to the New High Priest’s words. Of course it was unusual... To be honest he couldn’t remember a time that SunClans had ever had to portion out food, even in the harshest days of leaf bare. SunClan had always been blessed with an abundance of food, in fact most of the warriors joked about the mice being so far off sunflower seeds that you didn’t even have to really hunt, they would just all into your waiting paws. He leaned in closer to Azura, hearing her words. He had recently found out that she was expecting his kits, but they had been keeping it quiet “Yes it’s strange, but let’s stay out of this for now” he was worried about speaking out to directly with anything the High Priest said, at least until he could get Azura to safety stardance

Troublemaker wasted now time as he joined his brother on the other side of their mother gentlY guiding her back to the warrior’s den “Don’t worry mother, our sister will be fine, I’m sure she’s already got Lionpride wrapped around her paw” he motioned for his brother to help, the tip of his tail tickling him as it draped over Swelteringeclipse’s back “Besides, she has so many siblings here that he wouldn’t dare touch her” he tried to reassure her Phantom
