Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Had she made the right choice? Most of Wispycloud's family had left for WinterClan in the heat of the summer, but she just couldn't leave her birth Clan and her mother, it was cruel. Besides, she'd heard horrible things about those cold-hearted cats, whispers of arranged marriages and prisoners even made it all the way to the ocean.
SummerClan was free, warm, happy. She didn't belong anywhere else. And yet... she was still plagued with doubt. It was the hardest decision she had ever made. And she missed her father, Windyhurricane, greatly.
"Ah~ It's only fitting that the moment he leaves, a cold front blows it," Wispycloud laughed as she was buffeted by a chilly breeze. She'd been very young the last time it had been cold. Back then her fur had been short and she'd been kept indoors; now she had a thick, warm pelt, short enough for SummerClan's intense heat but long enough for WinterClan's below zero temperatures, "Moron." < your cat wanders up toward the end of her little monologue and thinks she is calling them a moron
“You know, I’m getting sick and tired of you all disrespecting me,” he snapped. Closing the distance between them in a few quick bounds, he looked over her with fury in his cobalt eyes.
“I’ve done nothing but serve this clan time and time again, yet do I get an ounce of gratitude? I don’t need to be thanked, but some respect isn’t uncalled for.” Sootstep growled, taking a slow step closer. “Did Mudthistle put you up to this with your lies?”
"That wasn't meant for you, although, judging by that short fuse of yours, maybe it should have been," Wispycloud countered, but she was blushing, she really was embarrassed that any cat had heard he speaking much less Sootstep. She hadn't really talked to him much but he certainly had a reputation. Still, the young she-cat tried to smooth out her own frayed nerves, she didn't mean to lash out at the tom just because of some silly misunderstanding. She prided herself on her maturity, always had, "Is something wrong, Sootstep? You seem awfully on edge this morning."
He glared at her, disbelieving. There was nobody else around for her to insult, so it had to be him. "You would be on edge too if everyone called you a moron the second you walked into earshot. Don't even get me started on the rest of my week."
Dawnmemories had been ignoring him, looking cold or hurt every time their eyes met. She was his greatest enemy and he couldn't understand why she was treating him like this, especially not when she had been so kind to him before she was made deputy. Sootstep didn't want to complain to this newly made warrior, though: his weakness was not her concern.
Wispycloud hesitated, she didn't exactly want to unload on Sootstep but to be fair that's exactly what he had just done to her. As sore a subject as it was she figured she may as well be honest, "I was talking to my idiot of a father who took most of my family and left back to his birth Clan - WinterClan - because SummerClan was 'too hot.' Except he waited until the very beginning of leafbare to do it. If he'd waited just a few more days he would have been here for the cold front and wouldn't have had to leave."
She turned her head to face Sootstep and cocked it slightly. She had beautiful almost foreign features and harvest moon eyes, "My turn. Who is the 'everyone' you just mentioned?"
"The cold front would only keep him safe until newleaf, at the latest. Besides, if his loyalty was already that torn, he was a danger to keep around here," Sootstep answered matter-of-factly. He had no sympathy for cats who couldn't make up their minds about where their loyalties lie. If her father's best interests lay in leaving, then good riddance he was gone.
"Redstar. The Redguards. Dawnmemories." Sootstep shook his head. "Mudthistle has hated me since we were kits, but she's been worse lately."
"You do kind of have a bad reputation," Wispycloud mused, nodding along as Sootstep listed his closest enemies, "Maybe it has to do with the fact that you always assume the worst, when you would be much happier if you assumed the best. I forgot what the words for that are... opossumistic and pestimistic? Yeah, you need to be more opossumistic."
Wispycloud tilted her head at him and gave him a wink. Speaking with a bigger grump than herself certainly did wonders on her mood. She was still angry with her father, but she'd forgive him.
