Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
She really disliked being given apprentices. Her mother usually only gave them to her as a way to keep her under control, and Lastaffair didn't doubt that was the reason for this as well. Of course, there were some rumors about this cat, and the entire litter, but nothing substantial. At least it was enough to give the warrior hope that Bloodpaw could keep up with her antics.
As such, she'd ordered him to meet her by Ceremony Springs, where the tom would find her up on the Springrock, tortoiseshell legs cycling in the air with disinterest. Could he take any longer? Probably. And he wasn't even late yet, Lastaffair was just supremely impatient. It was in her nature, after all. Of course, so was doing incredibly dangerous things, which didn't exactly bode well for Bloodpaw's chances of surviving the day.
Bloodpaw had scoffed silently to himself when he'd been appointed a mentor alongside his siblings. He was a cat who had decided at a young age that he'd been fine without one. The tom never did well with taking orders from anyone else but his siblings, so when his mentor had ordered him to meet her near the Ceremony Springs. He'd just huffed at her and watched as she'd gone off to Sun God knows. He'd waited for the appointed time to come and while he did so he'd debated on whether to show up or not. He'd conclude that it would probably best if he'd done what she'd ask. Assuming if he didn't it would draw attention to him and his siblings.
So he'd padded through the territory and had slowed to a standstill at the Springs where his penny copper eyes searched for Lastaffair. His stony gaze finally found her up on the Springrock doing... something strange. He'd snorted lowly before he moved a little closer, "I'm here." His voice was low and monotone though it almost had a bored undertone to it.

"Oh, you showed up after all." The warrior sighed heavily, not so much as glancing back at her apprentice as he appeared below her, though Lastaffair's ears twitched ever so slightly at his tone. Well, given his attitude, and what she'd heard about him, they'd either get on fantastically well, or terribly. Probably the latter, given her track record, of course, she'd managed to not make her former apprentice, Twistedecho, hate her, which was a miracle in itself, so maybe she'd have another stroke of luck. Unlikely, but theoretically possible, she supposed.
"Let's go. We're 'supposed' to be back by sunset, after all." She really was debating staying past that, but she'd most certainly get a talking to by whomever was within range, and she didn't really want to deal with listening to them blabber on and on.
With another sigh that declared just how much she didn't want to be here either, the she-cat rolled to her paws and stood, shaking her head and causing the thick scarf-like ring of ebony fur around her neck to ripple, multicolored green eyes peering down at the tom as though she could see past his disinterest and straight into his soul. Dropping to the ground, her tail twitched for him to follow as she walked towards the farthest ends of the territory.
She spun on her paws, walking backwards so as to face Bloodpaw as they walked. "I have one rule. Keep your mouth shut about what we do for training. I don't need another lecture from my mother about responsibility and the code and blah blah blah." As if to exaggerate her point, Lastaffair rolled her eyes, clearly having about zero respect for the High Priestess whom she was unfortunately related to. "That's it. It'll save us both from a headache, trust me."
Bloodpaw had eyed the she-cats actions with a bored uninterested gaze. He'd watched her jump down from her spot and start padding away before she turned on her heels and started walking backwards. The ginger tom and just kept the same expression on his face before he padded after her. His ears twitching as she spoke. The only expression that seemed to cross his face was a twitch of a brow as she told him what not to do. He'd been tempted to snap at her because he didn't follow others orders, but he bit his tongue. He was told to blend in with the others in the clan. To not draw attention to himself and his siblings. He breathed in a deep sigh before he gave a very brief nod of his head at Lastaffair. He'd play along, for now.
Given the tom's response, she wasn't exactly convinced. Maybe he would be when he saw what their training was going to be like. After all, some of the thing she had planned could get them punished if found out. "Lesson one. Pay attention. You never know what information might be useful, whether it be for blackmail, or insight into your allies and enemies, both their strengths and weaknesses. You want to know as much about those whom you engage with, more than they know about you. And in that same vein, you need to be able to react to your surroundings at a moment's notice, to adjust your plans and actions accordingly." With a flick of her paw, a jagged stone was sent flying forward, directly for Bloodpaw, as if to emphasize her point.
As Bloodpaw followed after Lastaffair he found himself rolling his eyes. All the she-cat was doing was telling him things that he already knew. The ginger tom wasn't one for making conversation but he was always listening and observing. Despite being a mostly obedient underling to his siblings he was smart. He was always on high alert his paw steps light and sure. Each one having a purpose. So when the she-cat had launched the jagged stone in his direction he'd sidestepped, the stone whizzing by and grazing the tips of his ginger fur. His ears twitched as he heard the stone clatter to the ground behind him. His copper eyes narrowed at his mentor, he'd about had it with her games already and they'd only shared a few words. "That all?" his voice was low and held a lingering tone of displeasure.

"Lesson two. Arrogance will get you killed." Her tone mimicked his, but she turned around and continued on, far past SunClan territory, and keeping on until twolegplace wasn't just a speck in the distance, but reality before their eyes. The sound of twoleg chatter and monsters roared in her ears, everything unfamiliar and moving at a faster pace than life in SunClan seemed to, at times. "Keep an eye out. Twolegs will snatch you up because of your youth, monsters will kill you if you venture onto the thunderpath, there are predators twice your size and larger who would make you a meal, and though some kittypets are friendly, they're not the only felines to inhabit these places. This is a place where your name, your rank, and what you think you know, doesn't matter. One wrong move, and you die or get captured. The rules of the forest, and the cats who can save you, are long gone."
Indeed, even as they talked, Lastaffair led them through a maze of alleyways, buildings, and streets, each looking the same as the next, with no reasonable way to tell one place from another as they weaved in and out of sight.
Bloodpaw went silent after she had finished speaking, though his eyes still remained slightly narrowed. As they walked he found only a few thoughts flickered through his mind. Though they were nothing of importance, they just held his attention for a few fleeting seconds before they were gone again. His copper eyes scanned the passing territory as they went. The familiar SunCLan territory slowly transitioning to the twoleg city. His fur rose ever so slightly at the unfamiliar sights, sounds and smells. He would be stupid to not be afraid, though his fear was being overloaded with a curious caution. He shadowed Lastaffair as they maneuvered through the winding streets. His silence remained as she spoke, only nodding his head slightly to acknowledge what she had said.
The ginger tom doing his best to place markers as they went along, not wanting to get lost in the unfamiliar stone and deafening sounds. But, as they went he found himself losing his place as everything blended together. Why were they here? And what was here? He was unsure whether he had spoken his thoughts allowed or not as he trailed after the she-cat.
