Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The evening air was still and chilly. Not a sound was to be heard except for the sounds of the occassional paw meeting the ground in a series of battle moves. Flamingpaw was in the middle of the training hollow going over and practicing each battle move she had ever learned on her own.
A slender dark red shape slipped silently through the undergrowth, her ears picking up the sound of paws meeting the ground. The fading evening light as well as the shadows of the forest provided Pinepaw with the perfect opportunity to hide from her sister as she snuck up onto the training hollow.
Finally with her sister in her sight, Pinepaw crouched down, putting most of her weight into her hindquarters and leaped out from the shadows and onto Flamingpaw. "GOTCHA!" she yowled.
Flamingpaw let out a surprised shriek as she was taken down by her sister. Thinking quickly, she kicked her sister over her head with her back paws and leaped back up and pounced on Pinepaw. "No! I got YPU!"
Giggling Pinepaw slipped away from Flamingpaw and darted to the other end of the training hollow. "I'll race you to the moor!" She challenged, playfully.
Flaminpaw huffed, "cant you see Im busy? I dont have time to play games. I have to keep practicing so I can protect my clan. Havent you been listening? Sunclan has already taken over two clans, Waterclan has vanished, and Nightclan just recently attacked Dayclan before Sunclan took over." She puffed out her chest and flicked her tail, "we dont know what will happen. I suggest you start preparing as well.
Pinepaw rolled her eyes. "Fine! I'll help you practice, that way we can both sharpen our battle skills. But then we go chase some rabbits!" she meowed.
Pinepaw yelped in surprise when Flamingpaw landed on her but quickly wiggled out from under her and batted back at her, playfully swiping Flamingpaw's ears with sheathed claws.
All of Flamingpaw's seriousness vanished and her kit hood behavior came back like old times as she battled playfully with her sister and suddenly, the weight of the world was lifted from her shoulders and all of her worries were washed away. For the first time in moons, nothing else mattered. She wasnt ambitious about becoming a feirce warrior, she didnt think about becoming leader, and she didn't worry about the other clans and the danger they could be in. All that mattered was the bond she shared with her sister and the fun they were having.
Flamingpaw had kicked Pinepaw off and wrapped her arms around her and pulled her to the ground, biting her ears and pulling on them gently just how they used to play as kits.
Pinepaw batted playfully back at Flamingpaw's muzzle before quickly rolling up onto her paws. "Betcha can't beat me!" Pinepaw said laughing, giving a wave of her tail before playfully bolting into the undergrowth.
"Oh yeah?" She growled playfully, bolting after her sister. By now, little flakes of snow were falling gently and the light of the moon gave the forest a wintery glow.
Pinepaw glanced up quickly at the sky, she loved it when it was snowing, the world seemed quiet and at peace, plus the snow seemed to make everything around her brighter in a way, despite it being dark out. "I can't wait until we have a lot of snow!" Pinepaw announced. She had only ever heard of the elder's stories of all the snow storms and the hardships they could bring onto the Clan, but to Pinepaw, the thought of having snow up to her ears was exciting.
"But it's fun to play in!" Pinepaw meowed. "But I don't like being hungry either." She added with a shrug. "But maybe we'll get a little bit of snow, at least enough to have fun in but still have enough prey as well." she said hopefully.
Flamingpaw cleared the fallen tree behind her sister. "I wouldnt get your hopes up, my sister. I haven't ever heard of a prey plentiful leaf bare." Then she paused and that playful look in her eyes faded. She took a deep breath before continuing, "Pinepaw...I feel I should tell you that I'm considering leaving Moonclan..."
(I'm so sorry I literally opened this and forgot to respond a while ago! )
Pinepaw stopped dead in her tracks, trying to process what her sister was saying. "What? Why?" Pinepaw asked, turning to face Flamingpaw. "MoonClan is our home!"
