Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Only moments after Cinderpeak (cookie) and Northwind (Phantom) were announced as a couple they were forcibly herded into a small cozy den before being sealed inside with some large rocks. They were each told that they would be confined in the den for twenty-four hours together before their wedding would take place the following night. Within the cozy den were an assortment of flowers and herbs strung about the den. The scent was strong, thick with the aroma of lavender and vanilla. Both scents meant to be soothing agents to force a calm relaxing vibe. Off to the left side were an assortment of foliage, freshly cut flowers and other decorations meant for the couple to decorate one another with for their upcoming wedding. The more extravagant and detailed the couple would accessorize themselves with, the more it symbolized a happy marriage. They could not dress themselves up, only each other.
This is the time for the couple to exchange pleasantries, get to know one another, and plan their futures together."
(if you would like a wedding thread later on, please message me or one of the staff, thank you.)
Northwind had fought against her clanmates who were herding nudging her forward, she wasn't a huge fan of being touched but they didn't seem to care as they got her and Cinderpeak into the den and closed them in. The strong scent of herbs and flowers smacked her in the face and she let out a sneeze, blinking her hazy amber eyes. "Stupid furballs, I would have walked in myself." She growled, completely ignoring the fact that Cinderpeak was there, she had barely ever spoken to the tom and now they were to be married. "Y'all are lucky you're my clanmates or I would have ripped your ears off!." She now had her front paws against the stones that blocked the only exit, yelling at the cats that had shoved her in here.
The large gray tom purred at Northwind's tirade. He was a total daydreamer and found this whole situation incredibly adorable. While he had never heard of marriages as a kittypet, this was the final eye-opener for him that he wouldn't be with the she-cat he'd joined WinterClan for. But that was okay. He hadn't really even known her.
Cinderpeak felt his heart drop though the more Northwind carried on. His ears flattened in discomfort and his stomach was churning. She really didn't want to be here with him, huh. "Hey," he said to her softly, trying to keep his distance to avoid a claw to the nose. "I'm sorry you got stuck with me, Northwind."
The blind she-cat, paws still on the stones grew silent as Cinderpeaks voice broke through her anger, she turned her sightless gaze but couldn't pinpoint his exact location with all of the floral scents swirling around her. She lowered herself down and let out a sigh of frustration. "That's not why I'm mad, everyone here is so pushy an-." Her words were interrupted by another sneeze. "Stupid plants." She hissed not bothering to finish her earlier sentence.
His eyebrows rose. "You don't like plants?" he asked, head cocked to the side. She didn't seem to be directing her anger at him for the moment, so Cinderpeak changed the subject before she did. "Or..if you're allergic to these, I can move them for you. Here!" The new warrior jumped over to the closest flowers, grabbing as many in his mouth as he could and dragging them away from Northwind until he reached the opposite side of the cave.
Her ears stood erect as he moved what sounded like a large amount of flowers across the cave, it didn't clear her senses as they were still trapped in the enclosed space but not having them completely surrounding her did help. "Thanks.." She wasn't sure how she felt receiving the help, having grown to be independent after being practically disowned by her mother she tended to work out ways to get by on her own despite the struggles that accompanied. "So, what are your feelings on all of this?"
He needed to be careful. Cinderpeak was worried he would scare her off if he seemed too excited, so he settled for subtle and calm.
"I'm actually so very excited!!" Okay, not so subtle, nor calm. But honest, if that counted for anything. He wanted to ramble to her about all of his history but they could take it slow. Or she could just immediately divorce him, worst case.
"So if you're not mad at being with me, does that mean you're okay with this? It's arranged but that can be kind of romantic, too."
She wondered how he could be that excited when the two of them really didn't know each other, but she brushed it away as he spoke again. "I'm not entirely against it, though it isn't like I had much of a choice in the matter." As she spoke she ran a paw along the cave floor until it met with some of the remaining flowers at her side, she didn't know what kind it was or how it looked but she lifted it gently and set her eyes on it as if she could see it clearly. "Romantic huh?" She couldn't imagine how that could be possible but something inside of her was reluctant to squash the toms obvious happiness. "I guess we'll see if that's true or not." Love and affection weren't something she often received growing up so it was a fairly foreign concept for her, aside from her doting father of course.
Still staring blindly at the little flower in her paw a sudden thought hit her. "Wait, aren't we supposed to decorate each other?" She lifted her head and let out a string of genuine laughter, how in the world was she supposed to manage that?
Cinderpeak grinned as Northwind agreed to the courtship tonight. As she held a flower that he'd missed, the warrior jumped to his paws. "We don't have to, Northwind! Not if the smell bothers you." The last thing he wanted to do was make his future mate's allergies horrible.
He was considerate, that was new. "No, it's fine, once we get out of this darn cave and in the fresh air I'll be okay I'm just having a hard time navigating with my nose blocked." She would work through it, hopefully her betrothed didnt expect her to rely on him, she wasnt sure she would be capable of it. "I also, well.. Nevermind, I'll figure it out" as she said it she began to pull different flowers towards her, none of them complimented each other and there was no coordination. It was clear that Cinderpeaks pelt was going to look like a hot mess with Northwind as his decorator, but she wasnt about to let her lacking sight stop her. She never did. "Okay, come here so I can put these on you." Strown out before her were a variety of blues, purples, reds, and greens, even a few yellows. Some of the foliage had been broken, petals missing from some of the flowers or wrinkled from her trying to sort through them.
The giant tom stepped closer so he would be within reach. Cinderpeak's smile had widened as he'd watched her paw through the flowers. "I'll tell you what," he said, a friendly purr rumbling up from his chest. "Why don't you tell me which scent you like best and choose those. And then I can pick the ones I like the smell of for you." And if she didn't have a preference then, well, he'd still be proud to wear whatever mess of colors ended up on his gray pelt. The warrior was enthralled by Northwind. She wasn't the mate he had been hoping for, but oh boy was he a hopeless romantic and this situation was giving him butterflies.
