Pollendrone let out a breath she hadn't realized shed been holding and looked back at the bush blocking her from Shadeflower, it was embarrassing enough going through it, how in the world was she suposed to tell someone else that Bloodystar was trying to force fertility herbs on them... both her and Lionpride had been refusing food, unwilling to give in to the High Priests demands but each day it was the same thing and each day it lay untouched. She shook her head and tried to focus on hunting, after a few missed shots she finally managed to snag a pitiful looking squirrel and a mouse but the effort left her breathless in her current condition.
Gathering her catches she made her way back to the spot she had left the other she-cat, setting down her prey she laid down resisting the urge to eat. The clan needed all they could get with the recent shortage and she wouldnt take food away from the kits at home waiting, turning her head away from the temptation she rested her head on the ground and waited for Shadeflower to return..

Something was going on. Every instinct she had screamed it at her. Her gut tightened as she recalled how quickly Pollendrone had changed the subject. Weed could hardly focus on hunting, but with the shortage she tried her best to catch something. However her mind kept drifting to Pollendrone. What was it that the warrior was keeping hidden? We’re they not being fed at all? Was it poisoned meat? The tortoiseshell shook her head. No. Bloodystar would not go that far. He wouldn’t poison his own followers. Most of those cats were in prison simply because of their current marital situation, much like Pollendrone. She was so focused in her thoughts, she barely had time to register the small bird that was pecking at the ground in front of her until it was almost too late. Weed pounced, and after a short dance, managed to take the sparrow down in one quick motion. She gave herself a quick shake. It wasn’t much but it was something. After a short while of looking for more prey, and only catching a small Vole, Weed headed back to where she was meant to meet Pollendrone again.
As she approached the other she-cat, her green eyes narrowed slightly. Something was different about her. Weed knew that Bloodystar ordered the prisoners to only receive half of the rations as a way to ensure that war those not forced into the prisons had enough to eat. But Pollendrone has seemed... thinner. As though she weren’t eating at all. Her whiskers twitched as she looked the creamy colored tortoiseshell over. Something was definitely going on, and it only made the feeling in her gut worse.
She had begun to drift off while she waited, her eyes drooping sleepily only to pop open, her ears twitching when she heard her companions approach. "Ah you're back, how was your luck? Hopefully better than mine."CV she gave a little laugh and motioned to her sad catch, the tiredness she had been losing to moments ago now pushed away. She was hoping the she-cat had accepted her short answer earlier and would let it be, but from what she had seen of her, Shadeflower was a strong-willed and relatively stubborn warrior, knowledge that left a lump of worry settled in her belly.

Weed had dropped her vole and sparrow down at her paws. "I'm afraid I couldn't catch much either. Sadly Bloodystar was right, there truly is a prey shortage. No doubt a punishment sent down by the Sun God though not for the same reason as he claims." The tortoiseshell did her best to keep her voice level, but she couldn't help but curl her lip a bit. The tortoiseshell was sure that the sun god was punishing the clan because of the actions of their high priest. The former warrior shook her head as she glanced back down at Pollendrone. It had almost appeared as though she were almost asleep when Weed arrived. Now that the she-cat was closer, she took a good look at her clanmate. Her green eyes were almost unreadable as she looked Pollendrone over. She seemed much thinner than the last time she had seen her. "Pollendrone, when was the last time you ate..?"
"Hm? Oh, they brought us food last night." She chirped, though she gave no indication that she actually ate it. She was the one refusing to eat so her current state could only be blamed on herself. She looked at Shadeflower for a moment, attempting to read her expression but ultimately failing; she was too unfocused. "You worry too much, you have enough to deal with so please don't wait too much of your energy on me." She got to her paws and picked up her catch knowing those at camp would be starting to wonder where she had gone.
{Wanna time skip to after her being hurt by bloody? Have Weed come see her at the prison}

(yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes here we go!)
Weed had still been bothered by her last encounter with Pollendrone. It had left the tortoiseshell worried, especially since she hadn't seen the she-cat since. She could hardly sleep and had been completely unfocused. It had frustrated the others, but Weed could have cared less about what they thought or said. She needed to see if Pollendrone was alright. The mottled tortoiseshell slid out of the initiate's den and quickly looked around. When she was confident that no one was watching her, she slid to the tunnel and began to make her way towards the prison. A brief feeling of guilt ate away at her stomach. Weed should have tried to bring a bit of food for them, but the pile had gotten so low she knew that someone would notice if she stole a few pieces. The initiate would make up for it somehow. She quietly made her way past the guards and paused for a moment. She swallowed thickly as she searched briefly for the familiar gray pelt of Lionpride, but quickly shook her head. Weed came to see Pollendrone, and if she happened to see Lionpride as well then so be it. The tortoiseshell picked her way through the dark cells, pinning her ears back as her eyes adjusted to the darkness. "Pollendrone?" She called out softly. "Pollendrone, are you here?"
It had been two days since Bloodystar had been to the prison to visit Pollendrone and Lionpride, two days since the he had left the deep claw marks on either side of her face, she did not know that though as the days and nights had begun to melt together the longer she was there. The wounds on her face had not yet been treated, she had to eat if she wanted medical care and she was still refusing to give the High Priest what he wanted. Dried blood crusted the marks while beneath an angry red had taken hold, not yet infected but irritated and swollen. The cream and tortoiseshell she-cat had spent the first part of the day beside Lionpride but after realizing the tom had drifted to sleep she got to her paws and moved to an empty cell, she did this often as not to disturb his rest, she didnt sleep much, the pain of from her wounds keeping her up. Pollendrone let out a sigh and rested her head on her paws as she lay on the cold sandstone floor, knowing she would not get any rest she simply closed her eyes and tried to think back to the days before everything fell apart. Her thoughts were soon interrupted though as a voice called out her name, her head shot up, ears twitching, the movement caused her to wince but she kept her eyes glued to the cell entrance. "Shadeflower?" It was hard to tell, but she was almost certain the voice was hers, although part of her was hoping she was wrong. She hadn't seen the other she-cat since the day they hunted and Shadeflower had questioned her about things she was unwilling to share... what would she say now, seeing her like this?

Her ears quickly picked up on the sound of Pollendrone’s voice. Weed carefully picked her way through the cramped den until her nose caught the sent of the other she-cat. Her green eyes narrowed as she saw the silhouette of Pollendrone. “There you are... I must admit, I was beginning to grow worried.” The initiate admitted. “I hadn’t seen nor heard from you since our hunt. In fact I haven’t heard much about the prisoners since then. Is everything alright?” It was an innocent enough question. Her voice had been gentle, and laced with worry. “I would have brought you something to eat, but the fresh-kill pile is beginning to dwindle quickly. They would have noticed if I took more then my share, but I’m sure I can find a way to make up for that...” Weed’s voice trailed off as the faint, metallic scent of blood hit her nose. She immediately froze and lowered her head, squinting in the darkness until her gaze focused on Pollendrone. A short gasp escaped her throat when she saw the claw marks on her cheek. The feeling she had before only grew worse as she inches closer. “Oh... oh, Pollendrone, what’s happened? Whose done this to you?” She questioned, her voice taking a harder edge to it. Not because of anything Pollendrone had done, but because of the sheer audacity that someone would injure the she-cat over what Weed assumes was nothing.
Anyone but Shadeflower. it was a simple thought, a prayer to anyone who was listening, she liked the she-cat and if she appeared now, Pollendrone knew she would only worry her. She waited and for a moment things growing quiet, perhaps a false alarm? Wrong. There she was, standing at the entrance, Pollendrones eyes had long ago adjusted to the darkness so it wasnt difficult for her to recognize Shadeflower. Fear instantly began to settle in her belly as she listened to her words, leaving no room for Pollen to respond until it was silent again. "What are y-" she was unable to get much out before Shadeflower was right in front of her, questions spilling out. "I did it to myself.." it wasnt a lie, if she had kept her mouth shut then it wouldnt have happened, but Bloodystar had gone too far. "Shadeflower, calm down please." Reluctantly, she moved to a seated position and curled her tail around letting it rest on the she-cats shoulder. This was exactly what she had been afraid of, so much worry and so many questions she wasnt sure she could answer.

“Calm down?” Weed echoed, almost in disbelief. “How can you possibly expect me to calm down, Pollendrone.” The mottled tortoiseshell’s fur was bristling. “Please, do not lie to me. Not for my sake, and not for yours.” The initiate stated, her voice now taking on a slight tone of begging. “There has been far too many lies passed between the clan for my liking. Let there be no lies between us.” Weed placed her paw over Pollendrone’s as she gazed at her pleadingly. “I want to help. However, I can, whether you want it or not. You shouldn’t be in this position in the first place.” She said. The she-cat could hardly believe that no one has been here to treat the marks on her cheek. They were red and irritated… it wouldn’t be long before they were infected. She was no soothsayer, nor high priestess, but she knew the basics to staving off infection from open wounds. Weed hoped that it was merely the darkness playing tricks on her eyes as she glanced at the marks on Pollendrone’s cheeks. “At least tell me whether they’ve actually treated your cuts.”
"It wasnt a lie, I spoke out and was rewarded for it. I do not regret my actions though, I would do it again and suffer the same." Her tone grew sharper, a tinge of anger seeping into her words though it was not directed at Weed. "You are to kind Shadeflower, if you are cuaght, you wont be let off.. Arent you worried what may happen then?" She wouldnt drag anyone down with her, Shadeflower especially, the she-cat had shown her nothing but kindness and friendship and she would let her be hurt for it. Pollendrone lifted a paw and ran it gently over first one of her wounded cheeks and then the other. "No one has treated them, but Lionpride and I have been doing our best to keep them clean." Her eyes flickered in the direction of the prison cell where Lionpride was now sleeping, but she quickly returned her gaze to Shadeflower.

The mottled tortoiseshell let out a small snort, and even offered Pollendrone a mischievous smile; something she hadn’t done since the day her sister had left Sunclan. “Let Bloodystar and his loyalists do as they please. I will at least will have done something worth while, not to mention worth it. I am loyal to my clan. Not necessarily the one who leads it. Though… he is lucky that he can hide behind his status as high priest.” Weed snapped as she looked once more at Pollendrone’s cheeks. “The absolute nerve… all because a cat would speak their mind.” The initiate took in a breath before she continued. “I’ll try not to wake him, the Sun God only knows you to need to rest and save your energy, but you cannot let those scratches go untreated and risk infection. I’ll be back soon with something for them, I promise”
Pollendrones features softened and the slightest of smiles pulled at the corners of her mouth, she had to commend the she-cat for bravery even if it was stupid of her to willingly risk her own well being, though she couldn't say much about it as she had been doing the same for Lionpride. She let out a surrending sigh and nodded her head. "Alright, but you must be careful, dont let the guards know what you're doing if you can help it." She had missed talking to Shadeflower, she just wished the circumstances of their meeting had been better than this. "Before you go though, how have you been? What has been going on out there?" News didnt reach the prison for some time and by then it was usually days or weeks old.

Weed let out a soft sigh before she shook her head. “I’m afraid it’s the same as always. Bloodystar is preparing for more weddings...” She commented. “It seems as though he is trying to get through them as fast as possible…” She twitched her whiskers as she looked up at Pollendrone, before briefly glancing towards where Lionpride was sleeping. Soon it would be them at the Ceremony Springs, being united as one soul. Weed straightened up. Now was not the time to think of it. There was nothing she could do about it, and nothing she should do. Pollendrone was a wonderful she-cat, Weed enjoyed her time with her. She was sure that she could make Lionpride happy. The initiate smiled apologetically at her. “I’m sorry. I’m afraid I don’t hear much either. Mountain has been putting me to work as he tries to convert me to Bloodystar’s path. I think it’s frustrating him that I’m so set in my stubborn ways.”
"It seems some are less rebellious in the marriages than others, they are doing those first." Her thoughts drifted to her half brother and his furious soon to be mate, Brilliantbeacon. A smile played on her lips, she was not close with the tom but he was family and from what she could see neither him nor Brilliant were pleased with the arrangement, though each had their own reasons. "I am curious to see how Bloodystar will handle the more reluctant of us." Her face had since changed from when Shadeflower had first entered, her raw emotions could still be seen in the depths of her eyes but there was now a lightness to the air as her smile grew. Her attention was reeled in slightly as the big goon known as Mountain was mentioned, she wasn't pleased with how the tom had acted that day and now Shadeflower was practically being tethered to his side. "It's nice to hear that, but you have to be careful, don't do anything stupid." She lifted her paw and poked the she-cats nose lightly. "That being said, be sure to give him hell."

Weed couldn't help the loud laugh that escaped her, but the she-cat quickly covered her mouth with her paw. She quickly glanced around to make sure she hadn't disturbed anyone, especially not Lionpride, before she lowered her paw. "Oh, you best believe I will." The mottled tortoiseshell chuckled. "It seems that Bloodystar still struggles with those that oppose him or those that speak out against him. I am curious as to how Brilliantbeacon's wedding will go. That will truly be a show, won't it? I do hope your brother will be alright though. She's definitely a daughter of Littlestar."
Pollendrone purred as laughter burst from her friend, it was a rare sound down here and she hadn't realized just how much she missed it. "Shadowking will be alright, he is a strange one but if he sees no gain from it then his interest will fade and Brilliantbeacon has made it very clear that she will not stand for it. It is only a matter of my brother gaining the she-cats trust now, so that she doesn't attempt to kill him." It was easy to see which cats here were related to Littlestar, each one had their own unique qualities but when looking at the bigger picture they were very similar.
"Shadeflower... Can I ask a favor of you?" Her tone grew more serious as a sudden thought came to her, she had not seen her father or youngest siblings since this started. She missed them dearly but more than that she was worried for their safety. "Can you check on Honeysplash and the kits for me? I've helped him raise them since they were young and I can't help but fear something may happen while I'm not there. Tell him I am alright and he shouldn't worry, do not for any reason give him the idea that I was hurt." She didn't want him to worry, it would only make things harder.

"You can ask anything of me, you know this." Weed said gently. She listened carefully, her whiskers twitching occasionally before she slowly nodded. "Of course I will. I won't tell him anything that would make him worry. Or your younger siblings." The tortoiseshell said with a soft smile. "But first, let's get those cheeks tended to. But I promise you, anything you need I will get for you. The both of you." She said glancing towards where Lionpride was sleeping. "All you need to do is let me know"
"Thank you." It was all she could say, she was relieved that soon her family would at least think that she was okay, it lifted a weight from her heart and she let out a sigh. "I'll be sure to let you know if we need anything." She lifted a paw and placed it over the she-cats with a smile, she didn't know what she had done to find a friend like Shadeflower, but she was happy that she had.
