Rain splattered all over his black striped faded tan colored tabby pelt. His green eyes narrowed to slits as he walked through the rain towards the Multi Falls. He had been in camp and decided that since he wasn't on an patrols or had an apprentice he would go hunting. He made his way out of the camp and through the Cenote, weaving through the path until he reached an opening that was wet with rain. He carefully placed his paws one at a time, until he reached the opening. He pushed out and stood facing the forest. instantly his pelt was soaked but he knew he needed to find prey to bring home. So he pushed through the rain, his eyes narrowed and his mouth open tasting the air for any signs of prey. After awhile he made it to the multi-falls, were he laid by the falls, for a few minutes as the rain decreased and the sun came out, warming his pelt. He rose and began his hunting, gathering fish from the falls, a few black and blue birds and a few mice. He was gathering his prey when he heard a noise behind him. Twisting his head around he narrowed his eyes and asked, " Who's there!" In a loud voice, his claws coming out, just in case he had to fight.

"Don't get your tail in a twist," Nightsky meowed as she came out into the open. "I'm not a badger or a fox." Her drying tortoiseshell fur glistened in the sunlight as she stepped forward. "Like you, I'm out hunting too." She smelled the prey Runninghorse had caught. Her own few catches were buried several fox lengths away, a sparrow, a mouse, and a water vole. She had hoped to catch some fish. That's what brought her to the water's edge. "From what I can smell, you had a lot of luck."

Runninghorse relaxed as he recognized the she-cat, letting his claws sheath back into his paws. "Hey Nightsky!" He greeted her with a n apologetic nod of his head. "Yes, I have, got up at dawn and just decided to take a small break, before continuing." He replied with a purr, as he sat back down, wrapping his black-tan tail around his front paws.

"It's nice to hunt now while the warm weather is still with us and the prey is plentiful," Nightsky meowed glancing up at the sun. "I caught a couple of things too and stashed them to take back to camp." The thought of Leaffall coming saddened her but she knew that there was nothing to do to stop it. One had to learn to take the good with the bad, the Greenleaf times along with the Leafbare. "How's the fishing today?" She looked into the rushing water and saw down to the bottom of the stream.
(ooc - Just so you know, NightClan cats usually spend their waking hours at night and sleep during the day.)

"Yes, indeed! I couldn't agree more!" Runninghorse replied with a twitch of his ears. "Though it's nice at night, the day time, does give us more prey." He said with a twitch of his whiskers. He looked at the falls and smiled. "It's pretty good so far!" He said as he walked to the edge of the water and looked down into it. "I caught a few." He stated with a smile.

(I know! Thought I would have him go out in the daytime, just once. )

Nightsky looked up from the stream and turned her eyes onto Runninghorse. "That's good," she replied. "I hoped I'd have some luck. I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep so I thought I'd do something productive." She peered into the water again and this time she saw a dark shape moving toward her. In a flash, her paw shot into the water and she tossed out a fish which flopped around on the bank. It took only an instant for her to pounce on it and give it a killing bite. "Well, here's one and it's a rainbow trout too."

Runninghorse looked at the water and then turned his gaze to Nightsky. "I couldn't sleep either." He replied honestly as he returned his gaze to the water. He paused a heart-beat and then flashed his paw into the water. Lifting it out with his claws hooked into a fish. He placed it down and finished it off with a killing bite.

"Nice catch," Nightsky meowed. "If we keep up at this rate our hunting patrols can take the night off tonight." She shifted her position along the stream and looked again for anymore fish.
I smiled at Nightsky. "Thanks!" I told her as I grabbed the fish and put it with the rest of my catches and turned back the stream. "I agree!!" I said as I settled a little bit away from her to continue my fishing. "It would be nice to give them a break." I said with a twitch of my tail tip. I shot my paw out again and scooped up another fish, killing it and continued on until my belly growled with hunger.

After catching two more fish, Nightsky stood up and stretched by arching her back. "I think I better stop for now," she meowed. "As it is I'm going to have to make at least two trips back to camp with the catches I made." She thought about her stash not far from there. If she was careful she could make it in just two trips. "So how many trips will you have to make?"
You stop your fishing, rise to your paws and stretch. "I have 2 black birds, 2 blue birds and 2 mice, besides these 4 fish." He replied with a smile. "I'm gonna collect the rest of my prey and take it back to camp." You tell Nightsky as you grab the fish you had caught and back tracked to the rest of your prey.

"Wow!" Nightsky meowed impressed with Runninghorse's hunting prowess. "You sure had a wonderful success today. Sounds like you'll be making a few trips back to camp with that load. And here I thought I did well with all I caught." She lined up the three fish that were on the ground in front of her and picked them up together by their tails. Then she followed the tom to his stash.

WRITING - TEMPLATE
GALLOPING AWAY
You give Nightsky a smile. "it's nothing!" You tell her. "Just doing what I am suppose to do, feeding the Clan." He mumbled through the fish in his mouth. They walked a little further, until you stop at a pine tree and begin to unearth your prey. You grab what you can carry and look back at your companion. "Ready?" You ask with your mouth full.

Nightsky nodded her head causing the fish to hit against her chest. It was hard to talk with three fish by their tails in her mouth. Casting a glance to the sky, she figured by the position of the sun she'd have time to sleep a little after they had made their second trip back with prey. She hoped there wouldn't be anything that might cause them a delay.

The Cenote was strangely quiet as Nightsky finally padded through the entrance. After depositing her catch on the fresh kill pile she stretched hard enough to make her tail quiver. "Well, it's back out there again to bring back the rest of my catch," she meowed softly to Runninghorse. She didn't want to disturb any of her sleeping clanmates. "Won't they be surprised when they wake up." She smiled at the growing fresh kill pile.
