Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. Ratnest's scruffy tail was practically dragging across the ground as he called out his daughters names miserably. They had been missing for sometime now and he was just about giving up hope. He rubbed at his eyes, but they no longer felt teary, just raw, he had used up all of his tears. There was no way to describe the sense of dread that suffocated his heart, he felt like he was gasping for air for days now, his facing turning blue, like any moment he could pass out. He remembered stories of kits going missing, how the parents wished to find a corpse, that the unknown killed them. Only now did he feel that, the feeling of the unknown, that horrible inability to neither mourn nor give up.
"Astral! Solar!" He called out again as he continued circling the territory. Never did he match his warrior name so perfectly, his fur was spiked up, tangled in all directions, he couldn't take care of himself. If he had time to take care of himself then he had time to look and if he had time to look he should be up and searching. He was certain he never walked this much in his entire life. He had been wandering NightClan so much he knew the back of every leaf, what insect was under every stone, which tree trunks had more protruding grooves than others. There were so many details he took in, looking for clues, a sign of a struggle, a tuft of fur. There was no rest for his soul, he could feel it wither away everyday he couldn't find his girls.
Bleakwind had also been searching for Flamingstar's kits. Flamingstar was a controversial figure among the clans, it would be no surprise for a rival clan to have taken her kits to hurt Flamingstar... or worse, killed them.
But as he looked into things, trying to see who might have them if they had been stolen he came across several disturbing truths after a brief interaction with some trading Renegade Regime cats.

And Bleakwind never trusted his rival in Flamingstar's affections as far as he could throw him. But surely he wasn't so heartless to let his own kits come to harm.
But even his own blood wasn't safe from him. Why would kits be any different?
He was checking around the border when he heard Ratnest's voice drawing near and he gritted his teeth.
He whipped around and glared at him. "You know if you were going to fake caring, you wouldn't be shouting their names when we already know they're probably nowhere near close enough to hear you." He growled, his ears flattening.
Ratnest's ears perked up at the sound of Bleakwind. His paw swiped at his tears as his shoulders rolled back strong with an unbothered expression on his face as he turned, "Yeah, you keep saying that! I bet they saw your ugly face and ran, if you saw it you would know why Flamingstar can't look at you long."
That was his problem, he refused to show his weakness or misery to others making him a prime suspect because he seemingly didn't show any concern. But then again, neither did Flamingstar, in fact she hadn't even looked for her kits once. There was a double standard in that sense. People could assume that she was in shock, assume that she needed to handle it in ways no one could understand, but the father didn't have that kind of mercy.
Ratnest turned back to what he was doing and instead stalked up the hill to distance himself from Bleakwind. The warrior was probably right, they weren't going to be in NightClan's territory, not when they had been gone for so long without anyone finding them.
