Her soft snow-white pelt blended into the snow behind her as she crept forward slowly, making no sounds or sudden movements. Up ahead a finch was intermittently pecking a the ground in search of it’s morning meal. Quietly, Rainpuddle inched closer and closer to her prey as she moved to the perfect angle to pounce. Just as she was tensing up her muscles and preparing for the leap, the bird flew off with a loud cry as it was startled by a loud noise. Desperate not to let it get away, Rainpuddle leaped with her claws extended and intent on bringing the bird back to the ground. To no avail, the bird continued to fly away and the warrior landed on her paws with nothing. “Mouse dung!” She cursed aloud, raking her sharp claws through the frozen ground beneath her in agitation.
Corpsepaw had startled herself when she rounded the corner and spotted another’s physical, cat. He mind constantly played tricks on her, making it to where she heard voices or saw cats that weren’t there. But this cat was really here. She’d nearly walked di to a tree while arguing with a cat that wasn’t there, one that disappeared when snow fell form the tree in a loud thump noise. Fur on end, she gazed around her for the cat she could have sworn was just there.

Rainpuddle’s head shot up at sounds of paws hitting the ground and spotted the apprentice. Annoyance fizzled through her and she rolled her sea blue eyes before narrowing them into slit. Carefully approaching the apprentice Rainpuddle studied her features and body language. She looked lost or looking for something. Great. Just great. Her hunt was messed up by a lost apprentice. Honestly things were never this difficult when she was in Summerclan. She had a certain distaste for the clan her father came too. To many cats showing too little emotions.
“Hey! Are you lost or something? You just scared away my prey.” The she-cat’s tone of voice was not hostile, just matter-of-fact. She needed to know what she should do to send this apprentice on her way so she could possibly salvage what was left of her hunt.
"Your prey?" Came a voice behind Rainpuddle, stopping the Summerclan cat from getting any closer to the apprentice. "Your trespassing on Winterclan territory. I believe that prey is ours." She circled Rainpuddle and stood on front of the apprentice, protecting her. Frostcloud was a beautiful all white she-cat. Her fur so pure, it blended in with the surrounding snow. The only giveaway that a cat was standing there was her bright crystal blue eyes and the gray fur against seashell pink ears. She looked flawless and stunning but she held a surprising strength and her voice was cold. Almost as cold as the leafbare wind that howled through the mountains. "State your business. And it better be a good one. Winterclan cats don't take kindly to intruders."
[Rainpuddle. Her and her siblings came to Winterclan with their father Windyhurricane from Summerclan.]
Rainpuddle curled her lip at the she-cat that moved to stand in front of her. Her eyes rolled as the she-cat spoke and she sighed, taking a seat on the cold ground and curling her tail around her paws. With a calm sort of disinterest, Rainpuddle lifted her paw and began grooming herself. “I am well aware this is Winterclan territory as my father was born here before moving to reside in Summerclan. Unfortunately, his pelt made it impossible for him to live in the sweltering temperatures and so he brought me and my siblings back here with him.” Rainpuddled replied, never really glancing toward Frostcloud as she told the story. “So, as I said before. The apprentice scared away my prey.”
(oh yes! You have the sibling of one of my cats lol! Thinking about moving her to Winterclan as well!)
"Oh, right, your those new cats" Frostcloud narrowed her eyes with a look of disgust. "I should have known. You still reek of Summerclan and your filling Winterclan territory up with your foul stench. You may be half Winterclan blood but your father decided to betray his clan to mate with a Summerclan cat." Her nose wrinkled as she said Summerclan. "Then had the audacity to return. Your not a Winterclan warrior and you never will be until you earn it. So that was our prey."

(fun! the whole family can have fun together XD)
The snow white she-cat stiffened at Frostcloud’s tone of voice. The clear distain and contempt for her and her family set Rainpuddle on edge, but she did not let it show. Instead the warrior schooled her features into an stoic mask. “Sorry, I didn’t see your name on it. So, as a member of Winterclan, whether you like it or not, I have the right to hunt where I please and gather whatever prey I deem fit for the clan.” She replied with a slight sneer. She loathed being looked down upon with ever fiber of her being. Her father was a strong warrior and great father. Nothing the she-cat could say would change that in Rainpuddle’s mind.
Corpsepaw slowly backed up. She'd always feared Frostcloud no matter her age, and it'd only gotten worse the more she started to hear things. The poor she-cat was a mess and she knew it but also wasn; sure what to do about it. So she suffered in silence and pressed on. It was moments like these though that made her want to scream. She'd heard the voice, saw the cat, and yet it was gone now. A figment of her imagination and now she was stuck in the middle of these two arguing cats. All over a piece of prey at that. "I'm sorry. I..I thought I heard something but..but I must have imagined it." This tom didn't yet know of the things she'd heard and seen, didn't know she was crazy. maybe she could keep it that way for a while longer. As long as Frostcloud didn't spoil things for her and call her out on her "hearing/seeing" things.
"You being a member is by luck. Usually cats like you are imprisoned first and more recently, Wintrystar has been wanting to make Winterclan pure blooded, in which you are not. Your a halfblood and a disgrace to Winterclan. Windyhurricane was smarter than that and I'm highly disappointed in his decision to mate with your pathetic mother. You see, your father was my student. Whatever disloyalty he learned, certainly wasn't from me. Your mother was probably the one to lead him astray. He never would have made that choice himself." She replied back, scorn and disgust sharpening her voice. She swung her head around and laid her spiteful gaze on Corpsepaw, unintentially giving her the impression that she was angry at the apprentice. "Not now, Corpsepaw" Frostcloud snapped, letting her anger take control. She wasn't angry with Corpsepaw, she was angry that the student she had the most faith in decided to betray his clan and then bring his half blooded children back with him.

Rainpuddle rolled her eyes at Frostcloud vicious and passionate rant. Honestly, the she-cat sounded like a half-crazed old loon and Rainpuddle could not care less about the blood flowing through other cats' veins. When Frostcloud spoke about her mother and father, her pelt bristled and she narrowed her eyes. "Say what you want about me and my dirty half-clan status, but you keep my mother out of your mouth. You do not know her, so you do not have any right to speak about her. And from what it sounds like, you did not know my father very well either. Such a pity." Anger and contempt laced her voice as she threw her words at the other she-cat.
"I don't need to know your mother to know that she was weak and manipulative." Frostcloud fired back. "Your father was my best student and had fierce loyalty to Winterclan. I had high hopes for him but then he chose Summerclan over his birth clan! He didn't even come back to Winterclan once he found his way back to the mountain clans. He chose to find her. If he would have chosen loyalty to his clan, you wouldn't be here." The white warrior lashed her tail, irritated that the cat before her controlled her emotions better than she did. "Come on, Corpsepaw. Let's get back to camp." She mumbled to the apprentice, walking passed Rainpuddle with a glare that could kill.

A scoff came from Rainpuddle as Frostcloud walked past and the warrior gave her a sickly sweet, sarcastic smile in return of the glare. "Goodbye. Have a nice day." Her voice was laced scorn and she rose to her paws, brushing off Frostcloud's harsh words and attitudes. Honestly, she expected this from the frigid clan and knew she would not be welcomed. Now that it was all said and done, Rainpuddle could go back to her hunt in peace and quiet.
(don't know what else you want to do with this thread! Maybe Skybreeze decided not to come with the rest of the litter but decided to come later and Rainpuddle finds Skybreeze at the border?)
(lol okay! Yeah! I think it would be cool to have Rainpuddle find Skybreeze! pao your welcome to join in as well! Didn't mean to take the show XD you just mentioned that this thread was here and I just jumped on lol! Do you can still join us if you want!)
Skybreeze followed the trail to the Winterclan border. Her paws shook with every step she took. This was a big decision she made, being afraid of everything in life. However, the heat from Summerclan was really getting to her. She had ended up in the medicine cat den twice due to a heat stroke. While her fur wasn't super long, it was rather thick and it got very hot. She chose not to come to Winterclan with her littermates because she desperately wanting to make living in Summerclan work. She loved her mother and wanted to do everything she could to stay with her. Though, she loved her father, too of course but Summerclan was where she grew up.
She neared the Winterclan border and her instantly felt her anxiety rise. What if they rejected her? What if they tried to attack her? Did her family get there safely or were they imprisoned? Would she be imprisoned? All these thoughts ran the speed of lightning over and over in her head. She gulped and sat down, waiting for a patrol to come by. The best way to avoid conflict was to respect their borders.

[Okay, cool! And pao should def join in!]
Rainpuddle shook off the encounter and pushed forward, following her nose to track the nearby prey in her area. She moved through the forest effortlessly and blinked in surprise as she found herself near the Summerclan border. A sigh left her as memories of her previous home resurfaced. It was hot all the time, but Rainpuddle never really minded as she would frequently take swims with her friends in the nearby creeks. There she faced no judgement for her half-clan status and treated the same as every other warrior. She missed it from time to time and she certainly missed her mother.
As Rainpuddle came closer to the Summerclan border, a new breeze was carried to her by the wind. The she-cat took a deep breath and the scent rang with familiarity. Her eyes widened and she took off into a sprint. Could it be? “Skybreeze?” She called out, skidding to a halt and gasping as she looked around for her sister.
"Rainpuddle?" Skybreeze's ears perked in the direction she heard her name before her eyes finally met with her sister. "Rainpuddle!" She bounded over to her and pressed her muzzle against Rainpuddle's, purring. "It's so good to see you again! How is Winterclan?"
(However you'd like to! They don't have to be related! You can bring in Wintrystar or you can bring in any other characters you have! Maybe you have a character that tries to discourage Skybreeze from joining or maybe Rainpuddle takes Skybreeze to Wintrystar to ask to join! I'll add her to the joining thread probably tomorrow!)

Rainpuddle closed her eyes, purring as well. Happiness filled her at the sight of her sister and she couldn't believe that Skybreeze was actually here. "Skybreeze! It's so good to see you too! Winterclan is cold and harsh, but that is to be expected." She replied, leaning back and giving her sister a wide smile.
