Shadeflower all but collapsed near the entrance of her den. She had been out all morning hunting for the clan and finding any excuse to leave the camp. But now her muscles ached, and her paws throbbed. A yawn escaped the mottled tortoiseshell. She leaned down and gently started licking the pads of her paws. Occasionally her ears would twitch at the usual noises in the camp, but Shadeflower paid no mind to it as she gently groomed herself. The mottled she-cat looked up momentarily as she stared at the fresh-kill pile. Her mind wandered to those that were imprisoned. Have they eaten lately? Were they alright? Her observant green eyes glanced back and forth briefly to see if anyone was watching her. When she was sure the coast was clear, the warrior rose to her aching paws and moved closer to the pile of prey. The tortoiseshell picked up a choice pieces of prey in her jaw before she quietly weaved her way through the camp and towards the prison. There wasn't much else she could do for them other than offer them some food, but she hoped that it would be enough.

Lionpride licked the wound on his leg glaring at the guard standing at the entrance. All he had asked was to be allowed to go search for his missing daughter, and it had ended in a fight between him and the guard. The guard had to be carried away, but the overwhelming number of guards finally made the massive gray tabby give in and stop fighting back. He had received several deep gashes and bites, but the other cat had been hurt far worse. Even now, his tail lashed back and forth as he contemplated the best way to get out of here so that he could find her. Poor Mousepaw... Was she scared being out there all on her own? Was she getting enough to eat? Was she staying warm and safe? He could only hope that she wouldn't get sick or captured. If one of SunClan's patrol found her, there was little doubt that she would be punished for running off. Just as he was debating on pressing his luck a familiar scent filled his nose, Shadeflower. His ears perked up, as he sat up quickly. He tried to get his coat into order before she walked in, but just as she entered he paused tongue hanging out of his mouth half way through a lick on his chest

Shadeflower gave her pelt a quick shake as she walked into the prisoners camp. Her green eyes looked amongst those forced to live here and a twinge of sympathy shot through her as she looked at them. Her whiskers twitched when her eyes landed on Lionpride. The tortoiseshell quickly straightened up when she saw him, and a small smile pulled on her lips when she saw the awkward position he was in. The she-cat walked toward him, not noticing the claw marks that ran over his pelt until she was closer. Shadeflower pinned her ears to her head as she looked them over. She dropped the prey she had brought with her before she looked up at him. “Hello again, Lionpride...” Shadeflower said softly. She glanced back at the guards with narrowed eyes briefly before returning her gaze to the large tom. “Are... well are you alright?”

Lionpride froze remaining there with his head bent and tongue out until she spoke, finally breaking the spell that she had cast on him. He looked down at the wounds, then back up at her "Oh those? Not a big deal, they will heal" he smiled shifting his position to be a little less awkward his tongue returning to it's rightful place within his mouth "The better question is are you ok? I'm stuck in here, not a whole lot going on unless I make it" he looked over to the guards "Don't worry about them, after how their friend ended up after attacking me, they won't be bothering me any more"

The mottled tortoiseshell flicked her ears at his words. She pinned her ears flat against his head as her lip curled slightly. “What reason could they have possibly had to unsheathe their claws against you?” Shadeflower questioned as she looked back over at him. The warrior shook her head and let out a soft sigh. The warrior did manage a small smile at his simple question. “You’re the one stuck in a prisoners’ camp.” She said with a light tease. “But, I’m well... I suppose.” She said with a soft shrug. “Things haven’t necessarily changed for the worst, but I have a feeling they won’t get any better. Goldengrace says it’s best if we just keep our heads down, and I do agree it is for the best... many of us have been constantly hunting or going on self-assigned border patrols just to leave the camp. I don’t think I’ve ever see. So much prey on the fresh-kill pile before.” The tortoiseshell shifted her weight between her aching paws as she sat down, curling her tail around her body. Just because it was for the best, didn’t mean that the she-cat necessarily liked it. But there wasn’t much she could do now. Instead, she flicked her ears and looked back up at Lionpride. “Though, I am more concerned about your current situation. Why would they attack you in such a way? Does it hurt?”

"Well, I had the audacity to ask to join a patrol to go search for my daughter.... Its been three days, and no one has seen even a sign of her" he replied a darker look crossing his face, before pushing it away concern taking over his expression "Mousepaw must be so scared out there all by herself... She has never been as strong as her brother, and she gets sick so easily. She only just started her training, and being in a strange land I don't know that she will be able to catch enough to eat" the tip of his tail flickered "They said they are sending out patrols to look for her" he paused before leaning in to whisper only to where Shadeflower could "but I don't if she would better off out there or being found by a SunClan patrol" he stood up straight once more. His nightmares had been plagued with her out there in the cold all alone, starving, injured and calling out his name. Yet he also feared what would happen if Bloodystar got his paws on her. She had ran off during a training session with her mentor, and he wasn't exactly keen on traitors.

Shadeflower felt the fur on the back of her neck rise as she listened to Lionpride. To attack a him for simply wanting to find his daughter? Shadeflower couldn’t believe how despicable the guards could be. The mottled warrior forced her fur to lie flat once more, but the tip of her tail echoed her agitation. She flicked her ears as he whispered to her. As much as she would have liked to see Mousepaw reunited with her father, perhaps she was better off away from the clan. Shadeflower considered her next words carefully before she looked up at the large tom. “Perhaps she is safer away from the clan.” Shadeflower whispered to him. “If she is found, I do not doubt for a moment that Bloodystar would deem the poor thing a traitor... Wherever she is, I do not believe that she is alone. The gods and noble warriors of the past will see her to safety, I’m sure of it.” She hopes that her words would help comfort him somehow. He cared so much for his children, she couldn’t even begin to imagine what he might be going through right now. Shadeflower just wanted to help ease his mind, though she realized that it would be difficult to do in such a situation.

"I can only hope and pray" he agreed, but he still had spark in his eye, a tale-tale sign that he hadn't yet given up on getting out of here and searching for her. The gray tom still offered her a gentle smile "at least while I wait on news, I have good company" he immediately regretted the words, heat rising to his cheeks, unsure of where that had come from. He hadn't spoken like that since... flashes of Aconite's face as he closed her eyes for the last time appeared in his mind, like a rush of cold water had been dumped on over his head. Their kits were not even warrior's yet, and here he was flirting with some she-cat he hardly knew. Shame gnawed away at him, as he decided to try and change the subject "and the clan is being well fed. I'm glad to hear that the freshkill pile is well stocked"

The mottled tortoiseshell twitched her whiskers. A small smile crept across her face and his words left her with a warm feeling in the pit of her stomach. However she quickly cleared her throat ran her paw across her face as if a fly had landed on her cheek. Shadeflower smiled politely at him and dipped her head. “I’m glad to be of... well... I’m glad to keep you company. I at least get to give my poor paws a break.” She said, a bit sheepishly, as she held one of her paws up. The pads were still red and irritated from her constant hunting expectations, but the ache had dissipated. “There’s not much else to do in camp. I fear everyone is trying to prove their loyalties. I simply have no interest...” Shadeflower paused for a moment and looked towards the guards. She really had to watch what she said. “Well, I have no interest in being stuck within the camp with nothing to do. I thought you could use something to eat. That is you and the rest of those stuck in here. I wasn’t sure if you had enough to eat, so I brought as much I could carry.”

As she lifted her paw to reveal the red and swollen pads, he gently grasped it in his own leaning downwards to inspect them. He wasn't a healer, but having been raised in the High Priestess' den he had seen his share of injuries and how his mother had treated them. He pulled them in close and sniffed, at least they were not infected. Suddenly he realized how awkward he was being as he dropped her paw swiftly returning to a more proper position. He coughed to clear his throat "You should go visit the red river hot springs and soak them in the water there. The warmth will make them feel better, and help it stay clean so they don't get infected" he looked down at the food with a grateful nod "They feed us, but not as much as we are used to. I will make sure my sisters get their feel, thank you"

Before she could put her paw back down, it was held by Lionpride. Shadeflower watched with wide green eyes as the tom looked them over. She had forgotten for a moment that he would probably know what to do for such things having grown up as Littlestar’s son. Another soft smile pulled at her muzzle as she watched Lionpride release her paw and clear his throat. The tortoiseshell gently placed her paw on the ground as she listened to him. The red river hot springs? She glanced down at the wound on his leg once more and flicked her ears. “Oh… yes of course.” Shadeflower said quickly as she was snapped out of her thoughts. “If you need more, I can always go and bring some back.” The mottled warrior flicked her tail for a brief moment before she looked back up at him. “The red river hot spring… why don’t you come with me? You’re hurt as well, it might do you some good as well.”
