Mousepaw squealed with delight, jumping onto the powdery white snow that lightly blanketed the ground. The young she-cat had never gotten to experience snow before, even though she had heard many stories about it "Thank you grandpaw!" she called as she spun around, batting at the soft white flakes as they fell from the sky with her front paws. After days of difficult travel, she was relieved to find the snow covered lands that had been promised to her. It meant safety from the cats that had been chasing after her. SunClan had almost managed to catch her on several occasions, but the grey cat that had been guiding her here always seemed to know just what to do.
The snow began to clump in her long tangled fur, the paint she wore in SunClan staining the snow as she played. The little she-cat might as well have been a mouse, looking tiny against the vast landscape of the mountains. He laughter filled the air, not realizing that the cat whom had guided her here was no longer there beside her.
[Mousepaw is Littlestar's grand daughter. She is running away from SunClan because of all of the stuff going on with Bloodystar imprisoning her family. She was guided here by her grandfather's spirit, but Wintrystar is going to make her a prisoner]
Mousepaw's light, fluffy pelt would help her in the snow once her bright paint had been washed away, but Emberbrand's red-flecked dark pelt would always stick out against his environment. If she had been paying attention, she might have seen the warrior approaching, but all too soon he had found her and was staring down in disapproval.
"This is WinterClan territory, kit," he rumbled, his claws unsheathed. He had a few qualms about assaulting such a young cat, but he wasn't about to let her know that. If she resisted, he would do what he had to in order to take her in. "You shouldn't be here."

Mousepaw looked up, snow clinging to her face as she heard the warrior's voice "WinterClan?" she blinked staring wide eyed at the much larger cat "THAT'S GREAT!!!!" She squeaked running toward the warrior paying no attention the exposed claws or the tone of his voice and putting her tiny paws up on his cheek purring and rubbing her cheek against his
"Grandpaw said I would find you here!" she chirped "Thank the Sun God that he was right!" unable to hold the position any longer, she tumbled backwards landing on her back staring up at him with adoration her warm purrs still rumbling in her throat
His stance was wide and firm, but he remained immobile as she closed the gap between them and started to touch his face. What was she doing? No intruder had ever acted like this before, and it certainly didn't fit with his mental image of SunClan cats. She wasn't proud or prickly or made of fire, she was just bubbly and sweet and almost irritating.
"It's not hard to find the biggest mountain around," he responded dismissively. He raised a paw to bat her away, but she fell back before he had a chance. "Who - and where - is your Grandpaw? I need to have a talk with him. You shouldn't be here."

Mousepaw giggled, batting at the tom's paw playfully before scurrying to her paws "Goldenstar!" she chirped sticking out her chest proudly before her green eyes looked around the snow covered clearing and not finding him "He was just right here a moment ago..." she trailed of before suddenly shrugging her shoulders. It wasn't the first time he had disappeared but he always seemed to appear when she needed him the most. Never mind that there was only one set of small footprints scattered about in the snow
"I am supposed to be here, I have been looking for WinterClan for days!!! It is even more beautiful than in the stories" she scooped up a pawful of snow watching as is slowly began to melt against the warmth of her paw "When he said Frozen water fell from the sky I thought he was lying"
Emberbrand studied her with renewed interest. What did she have in common with his supposed brother-in-law? If he could convince her to confirm their relation, it would help him greatly in the long run. The ancient leader wasn't here, so there was no reason to suspect the deceased tom would try and call him out on his lies. Yes, if he played his cards right here, Mousepaw would be the most valuable asset he had found in a long time.
"Of course," he purred, "desert-dwellers could never truly imagine the beauty of our home. The snow is much too beautiful for them to understand. Tell me," he trotted back to her side and rested a firm paw on her shoulder, "why did my dear brother send you this way?"

Mousepaw had her head tilted upwards, gazing up at the falling snow until she felt a firm paw on her shoulder. She looked up at the tom blinking "You are Grandpaw's brother?!?!?!?" she gasped taking in his red fur, to amazed at the differences in appearances to really answer that other tom's question
"But...but... You don't look anything like grandpaw" she mused leaning in close to look at the other cat's eyes and lifting a paw to hold a wisp of the red fur with utter disbelief and letting it run through her tiny claws "Grandpaw is really really big, he has silver fur, and you don't have his eyes! Grandma and Daddy have his eyes... So why don't you?"
Emberbrand chuckled. "I'm his half-brother-in-law, if you want to get that accurate," he explained. "Goldenstar's mate was my sister, Hazethroat. She looked like our mother, with very long and soft cream fur. I look more like my father. You don't have any of my blood, that's why you don't look like me, but I'm still your great-granduncle, I suppose. Granduncle." He ran a few calculations in his head, trying to guess if that was the right relationship for them. "Littlestar was my niece, you see."

Mousepaw blinked, she supposed that made sense. After all her grandpaw had lead her right to him, so she didn't really have any reason to question it.. She grinned "That is even better!!!"she purred, pressing up against him trustingly "Grandama Littlerstar never mentioned she had an uncle, but I am glad that it was you that found me" she nuzzled into his long fur, before looking back up at him with a sad expression
Pineflurry had been out hunting when he heard voices net the border. Ever since the capture of Bluejay, he’d been extra vigilant about the borders. Though his hearing wasn’t the greatest, he could make out the voices not far away. Heading their way he wnet prepared for a fight. What he found was a SunClan cat and Emberbrand conversing. “What’s going on?” He wasn’t exactly pleased to see the cat in their territory, especially with the Bluejay situation and the rumors he’d heard of what was going on in in the other clans. Since the death of the Sun God tbings had become chaotic.

Mousepaw was now completely cuddled up with the big red tom despite not even knowing his name yet, her paint smeared onto his coat due to the wet snow. She placed on paw on each of his front paws, standing up underneath him, still no barely brushing his chest with her back "Are you a WinterClan cat to!?!?!?!" she squeaked with joy, bounding forward from the warmth of her supposed uncle and straight up to Pineflurry with no fear. She giggled looking him over and then falling into a play bow bouncing around sending like puffs of snow up into the air in the process "You are both so FLUFFY!!!" she moved forward pressing her cheek up against the cat's long fur purring
(Pineflurry isn’t fluffy he’s just got a thick coat. Mixed blooded cat) Pineflurry reared back, confused by her reaction. “Umm...yes, and you are? Better yet, why are you here? SunClan cats are not welcome in WinterClan.” He narrowed his eyes, trying and failing to read what he Roaming was me at for. He’d never understood that. But cats in WinterClan worn crystal and SunClan cats wore paint so maybe theirs was for rank as well.

[Ah, but would still be fluffy to her where she is from SC, and feel free for your characters to not believe her. After all Goldenstar has been dead a long time]
Mousepaw grinned, sitting back giving up her grip on the other cat's coat "My grandpaw sent me here!! He wanted me to find WinterClan" she declared with pride glimmering in her young eyes "he brought me here after I got lost, and kept me safe from Bloodyrondo and the patrols he sent after me" a sad look crossed her face "he is a bad cat, and was really mean to my grandma and my ...." before she could finish her sentence she got distracted seeing the crystals around his neck. She squealed with glee rising up on her back legs, batting at them "I want one of those! They are really pretty" she seemed completely engrossed with the task completely forgetting the more serious conversation that she had been having a moment before "I bet they would look even better if you held them up to fire. Do the reflect light like water?"
Silverfury had been part of Pineflurry's hunting patrol. He had caught a vole and was circling up to regroup when he found that the other tom was not at their arranged meeting place. After following his scent, the silver tom joined the growing group, and to Mousepaw he would look a lot more familiar. He was also a descendant of Goldenstar's family line - not that anyone assembled would know that - and, although his eyes were steely gray instead of vibrant gold, he looked very much like her ancestor and father, "Who do we have here? A SunClan fugitive? Awfully young to make an enemy of one of the strongest Clans..."

"DADDY!" She squeaked running over to the big silver tom and wrapping all four of her paws tightly around Silverfury's leg "I can't believe you are here!!! How did you get away? How..." her voice trailed off as she looked up into the tom's eyes. Those were not her father's eyes and it made her freeze in place still not letting go of the other cat's leg, but now her eyes were full of wonder "Your not my dad" she added after a few moments of silence "Why do you look like my daddy?" she questioned tilting her head to the side curiously blinking.
It took every ounce of self-control to not punt Mousepaw across the snow. Truly, it was the shock of being called Daddy the froze his paw, although ultimately Silverfury did roughly shove her away, "As if any kit of mine would be poisoned with filthy SunClan blood," He hurriedly removed the paint she had smeared across his forearm, scowling as he did so, he hated its bitter taste and didn't understand why SunClan cats insisted on covering themselves in the stuff. Cleaned now, he turned his harsh gaze to the apprentice, scowling, "I don't know who you father is but I look nothing like him. I am pureblood WinterClan."

Mousepaw giggles as she was tossed into a soft pile of snow, taking a moment to roll around int eh snow before getting to her paws and shaking out her long fur “You do look a lot like my dad, your even big and strong like him” she pointed out making her way over to him as she started weaving her way around his paws “You have the same fur, you are the same size, you even frown like dad!” She stood up on her hind legs to pull his muzzle in a downwards frown, and then up into a smile, then back down again while making swooshing noises “Your smile isn’t like his though” she moved her paws up to his eyes opening one of them wide to peer into it “and your eyes are the wrong color, they are supposed to be gold like grandpaw’s”
Alright, that was it, Silverfury slammed his paw against Mousepaw's side and forcefully pinned her to the ground, his claws digging into her shoulder and painting the snow with a new color. A growl rumbled deep in his throat but he did not speak right away, his cold gray eyes glaring daggers at the apprentice, not that she could see it with her head in the snow. When he spoke his voice was deep but orotund, "Let's take her back to the prisons. If she wants a parent so badly, then that abomination Bluejay can suckle her."
Pineflurry was thrown off by her attitude and her sudden calling of daddy to Silverfury. Shocked, confused, and really having no idea what was going on, the tom agreed with the pure blood WinterClan tom. “As we should. All trespassers are to be taken to the prison. Though, I hope not latch onto Bluejay, she deserves no company in my opinion.”
You need to help her. Emberbrand's whisker twitched. He wasn't about to go free the former High Priestess even if they were related. While he didn't know the extent of her troubles, there was very little he would be willing to do for the enemy cat. Pineflurry's arrival saved him from answering the little cat, and he took a step back to observe them carefully.
Silverfury arrived - of course, the arrogant cat was a constant thorn in his side - and started to make a mess of everything. Emberbrand let it go on a while ago, enjoying how Mousepaw was harassing the tomcat. Maybe she would be useful to him in more than one day. But then Silverfury had to go and cross the line.
"Unhand my niece," Emberbrand commanded, stalking over and shoving the tom off of Mousepaw. "We can take her to prison, like any other trespasser, but she will not be harmed. She comes willingly to rejoin her clan. Isn't that right, Mousepaw?"
