Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Loelia, time to wake up," For a League tom, Creek was unusually meticulous in his routines. He always woke up at the same time, ate the same breakfast, did the same chores all in the same order. He'd changed his routine a little bit today, though. Normally he would have waken up Loelia to assist him by now. Instead he had allowed her to sleep in and taken care of the drudgeries on his own.
Creek pulled back the drape from the window, casting ribbons of sunlight across their shared nest, careful not to strike Loelia's eyes. He never put extra effort into his appearance but had inherited his father's dangerous good looks: The way the mid-morning sun highlighted his slim figure made him appear almost ethereal, "I've got a surprise for you."
Was that a smile teasing at corner of his lips? Creek was not very expressive by nature, but he seemed excited for once.
Loelia opened her eyes with ease, for once the early mornings weren't trying like they typically were. After all, her littermates back home were still tykes, same as herself, she was used to getting bed rest. Since moving in with Creek though he didn't give her any exceptions, age or no working back legs she was still given normal assistant jobs. She was glad for the work though, she liked working with Creek more than the other jobs she saw like the punishment district. Soon enough she would be of actual age to become a trainee, she wasn't sure if the league would require her to choose a district or let her continue working with Creek. But those worries all felt far away, she felt great and best of all Creek was there waiting for her.
"I'd love a surprise!" She purred, even though no one ever once surprised her in her life. But she heard surprises were fun! Loelia dragged herself out of her nest and over to Creek. Since he pushed her to walk on her own more and longer distances her muscles were aching much more. At least until she got used to using her upper body muscles regularly. "Should I close my eyes for it?"
"Sure." Creek didn't really understand the whole 'close-your-eyes-for-a-surprise' thing, he'd never been told to do that so it was a foreign concept. As soon as Loelia closed her eyes and he saw the playful smile on her lips, though, he began to understand why, "But first we need to do some exercises and warm up your muscles."
Creek had an old yoga mat stretched out in the same room as they denned. Oddly enough, he had had it here even before Loelia had joined him, he found in a handy twoleg relic to jump down from since often he entered this room through a broken window directly behind it. It offered traction and cushion and it didn't take him long to realize that it was a great material for stretching and scratching.
"I have a new exercise I want to try," He explained, padding over to the mat and stretching himself, first forward then backward. He was nearly as tall as his father now but probably weighed half as much as he did; Creek had a lot of filling out to do first, "I need to make sure that you have been doing what I told you. What's next is a pretty big step and if you aren't strong enough then there's no point in trying."
"Oh, alright," Loelia said, opening her eyes once more she followed him over to the mat. She replicated Creek's movements, there was far more ease and grace when she mimicked him, not like the first time they met. She was able to hold herself steady instead of trembling at her weight, which was important since she was still growing.
