Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Autumngossamer and Divinepaw had been on a patrol led by Leucisticcrow, but he conveniently vanished when they neared the apple orchard. Likely dozing off in a tree somewhere with a half eaten apple leaving the two to hunt on their own. For Autumngossamer it had been a while since she hunted, but she did remember that there wasn't a whole lot of prey if any in the apple orchards.
"We should head to golden pastures, there's probably bigger game to catch over there," Autumngossamer suggested.
There wasn't a whole lot she knew about Divinepaw, but despite that every time she looked at her she was reminded what was robbed from her. Foxbane apologized to her, forward and honestly, that was all she ever wanted. But Littlestar, when she asked, multiple times for the truth Littlestar repeatedly tried to convince her not to ask until she let it go. Then at the gathering accused her of not wanting to know, as if she hadn't refused the information to her twice. Seeing Divinepaw it reminded her of everything Littlestar took from her. Reminded her how innocent she continued to act till the bitter end of the gathering when she could no longer claim to not be responsible. Because of Littlestar's so called help, her family suffered and unlike Foxbane, she didn't have the decency to apologize.
"Can I talk to you honestly or are you in the mood for this patrol to end as painlessly and quickly as possible?" Autumngossamer asked. She was that age before too, she could understand if Divinepaw just wanted this to be over. She wouldn't drag it out if Divinepaw didn't want to be a part of this conversation.
Any bystander would assume these cats kin. Both Autumgossamer and Divinepaw were ginger-and-white, identical in size and build, and even had the same eye color. Well, mostly. Divinepaw was more proud of her odd-eyed gaze now than she'd ever been before. While her biological mother's coat was a touch longer and thicker than hers, Divinepaw was all too aware of their likeness to one another, and it bothered her, especially when Lovesmitten ran up to her like a puppy-dog only to find out he'd been chasing down the wrong she-cat.
"Yes," She replied with preteen sass to Autumngossamer's two options, although quickly she realized that was being unfair. The new DayClan Warrior was trying to reach out and was just as much a victim as Divinepaw was in all of this, "Go ahead and say what you want to say," She paused, looking away, "I'm... sorry for my behavior. I know what happened is not your fault."
"What? No, I totally don't blame you, you feel however you would like. I just wanted to say that despite not knowing you existed I fought for your right everyday. When the Sun God told me I was pregnant, against my consent I was mad, not just for myself, but for my daughters and my unborn daughter. I made him swear never to do that to another she-cat before accepting the fate I was given. But I kept thinking about the life you and your siblings were going to be born into, how I couldn't let him get away with humiliating me because I knew he would do it to others. I fought against so many injustices, I'm glad SunClan knows the truth, but more than that I'm glad I was able to make an example out of someone like the Sun God. I hope even though I never knew it, that I built a better world for you to live in. That doesn't make up for the time we never had together, but I hope that our suffering meant something, that it wasn't just that... Pain. I won't ever ask anything out of you except that you always respect yourself, because if you don't I'll beat the living hell out of anyone who treats you wrong."
Before Autumngossamer had even opened her mouth, Divinepaw had already decided how she was going to feel about what she was saying. When she got like this there really as no talking her out of her opinion. Later she would look back and scold herself for being so hard-headed, but as it was she just wasn't ready to open her heart up. It would mean admitting that she was wrong about all of this and she wasn't mature enough for it.
When it seemed like Autumngossamer was done speaking, Divinepaw flicked her tail-tip and said, "I understand." She of course, did not really understand, but she wanted to dodge the topic and understanding was not the same as agreeing.
Autumngossamer smiled at Divinepaw before looking serious again, "Alright, but really though, where the heck did our patrol leader run off to. I mean, not gonna lie, I talked for a while and he's still not back," She said as she moved closer to the SunClan border to see if he was napping outside of the border. Suddenly she stiffened before nudging Divinepaw to look over the border. On SunClan's side of the border Autumngossamer could spy out Arcticsong and Dawningpaw. Only Dawningpaw had her leg trapped in a hunters trap and Arcticsong seemed to be nudging the stake with little effort. Plus she was technically a SunClan traitor for running away, plus taking a kit with her.
"We might have to fight, are you ready for that?" Autumngossamer asked Divinepaw.
Divinepaw was actually happy for the distraction, and happier yet to realize that she actually knew one of those cats. She remembered Arcticsong from back when the SunClan Warrior was an apprentice, crying and shredding herself up by the water's edge... As for Dawningpaw, with her paw trapped, she wouldn't be much of a hazard, anyway. It seemed pretty low-risk to her.
"We won't have to fight," Divinepaw said, then padded toward the two SunClan she-cats before Autumngossamer could reply. Later she'd realize perhaps she should have paid more attention to her mother's words. After all, Autumngossamer had lived in SunClan for many moons, of course she'd know Arcticsong and Dawningpaw better than Divinepaw did. But the truth was that she'd rather risk getting clawed than sit here and talk about their relationship any longer. It was strange, really. All Divinepaw wanted was for everything to be resolved between not only her and Autumngossamer, but the rest of her family, but, when the chance presented itself, she'd do anything to pull away.
"Hey." She said as she approached the border, although she didn't cross it, "Need a paw?"
