The lightning strike was almost immediately accompanied by an earth-shaking boom that left the hair on his back standing on edge. Speckles craned his neck to stare up at the sky, half expecting to see flames or smoke rising, but there was nothing. That was reassuring; whatever the lightning hit, it wasn't a danger to the clan yet. The initiate crept beneath the trees, starting to regret going out now that he knew how nasty the weather was going to be.
