( The Regime has cool, wet summers given their territory has snow three of four seasons. Despite this.. reports of a fire having broken out at the easternmost part of the territory, right next to the river have come in. As such, Shule is sending out a patrol of Regime cats to investigate and contain the fire as best they can. )
The report had come in shortly prior. Fire on the eastern border. She had no idea how it would have started. Just a day ago there had been rain, it was nowhere near dry enough, especially next to the river, for this to have happened. Shule wasn't going to take any chances, however, and though the circumstances were strange, she called in Undertow and Laurel, ordering them to gather up cats to try and contain the flames, and figure out how it started. It would be largely consisted of Mercenaries and Scouts, with a few Guiders to help in case there were injuries.
Kaisra bounced behind the Superiors as the patrol broke out to the surface, the scent of smoke drifting on the wind, acrid and foul as smoke pillared up into the sky to her right. Though the fires weren't immediately visible, few cats could miss the dark cloud rising as she turned her head to look. Well, they wouldn't have a difficult time getting to their destination, that much she was certain of.

Superior Laurel's tail twitched with uncertainty as they made their way towards the smoke. It made her want to cough and her eyes watered, but she pushed on, glancing back at the patrol every now and again. "I know it's uncomfortable, but try to keep breathing as best as you can. The guiders are here to help if anyone starts to feel lightheaded." She called behind her, striving to keep the worry out of her voice.
Undertow's ears flattened, grimacing at the smell of smoke, and coughing a little to try and clear up his airways. The fact that there was so much smoke to just how wet the woods had been.
And to burn despite this. This wasn't normal.
Unfortunately now being the Mercenary Superior, it was his job to oversee this. And while he had no trouble with water or fighting, fire was something he did not like.
He let out a sigh. "I hope this isn't some twoleg issue," He muttered. Twolegs seemed quite happy to call upon fire, given how often he saw it in their nests. Twolegs were truly insane, and for fire to have manifested where everything pointed to it not.

"Do they usually start fires like this?" Kaisra questioned, glancing at Laurel's worried face despite the fact she was answering Undertow. Unlike her half-sibling, the Sentinel didn't appear nearly so worried. Though perhaps that was because she found this more interesting than anything. Besides, it had just rained. What were the chances the fire needed too much containing anyhow?
Undertow nodded grimly. "They can," He meowed in response to Kaisra. "Twolegs like to have fires in their homes and in their garden, they're quite skilled in controlling it, it's why if it is them we'll need to practice extreme caution." He said.
"There hasn't been any sign of twolegs for many moons, but this fire is too suspicious, it could not have started naturally. The only other option is that it is supernatural..." Sentinel Havilah said, following up his final statement with a cough. Of all his siblings, he had recovered best from his child hood poisoning, although it seemed the smoke was having a stronger influence on him than most of the other cats who had been in it longer, "... but Elementals are not supposed to be able to use their abilities across in RR. No unless..." He trailed off again and gave Shule a hard look, "Regardless, we must do something about it."

It wasn't long before they neared the fire. The smoke thickened, and they could actually see flames ahead as the warmth saturated the air. The river blocked them from the edge of their territory where the fire seemed to originate. There were a few stones a bit downriver to take one over the frigid waters and into the thick of the burn.
"Seems contained so far." Kaisra mused. Convenient.
