Weepingkit giggled, leaping onto the leaf that Oakshade had brought for her to play with. She had been happily playing with it for a while now, but this time something different happened... The leaf crumpled under her paws, falling into several pieces.. Tears began to well up in her eyes "My LEAF!!!" she wailed
You can't stop being afraid just by pretending everything that scares you isn't there
Grasskit could hear the she-cats cries from where he was laying in the sun, his head shot up, eyes round with a sense of fear. He got to his paws anyway and ran up to Weepingkit. "What happened?" He asked just before his eyes made contact with the crumpled pieces of leaf at her paws, it was then that he understood. "Wait here!" He purred, the tom took off and returned a moment later with another leaf, it wasn't as nice as the first one she had but he hoped it would make her happy. "Here, I found this for you."

"no, no no" she replied, pushing the leaf back towards the other tom, tears still streaming down her face "You don't get it!!" she cradled the broken pieces of the leaves desperatly trying to put them back together "My daddy gave it to me! It's special" she sobbed "when he finds out that I broke it, hes not going to love me anymore"
His sister's cries were alarming. Snakekit hopped over to her, pressing his nose into her fur as she sobbed. How could he make this awfulness stop? He hated seeing Weepingkit like this. "Of course he'll still love you!" he said, stepping on the new leaf as he stumbled around her, trying to get her to look up at him. "Weepingkit stop it! C'mon, please!"
Snakekit looked over at Grasskit with wide eyes. The other kit meant well but he didn't know Weepingkit like Snakekit did. Only Oakshade could stop her now. Still, he tried. "I'll be you could ask Oakshade for a brand new leaf. Bigger and better. He'd find the most special one for you!"

“But this was the first leaf” she wailed, the other kits only making her more and more upset “I don’t want a bigger leaf, I wanted this one!!” Her voice was climbing higher and higher in pitch as she spoke, getting more worked up. She desperately tried pressing the crumbled pieces back together only to sob as they would fall apart once more “Daddy’s gonna think I don’t care about him, I broke his precious leaf!!!”
"This might not be so bad, Weepingkit! Twilightkit told me that one time all of the kits got together and used all kid of things to make art for their parents. Why don't we try to make Daddy a gift with what's left of your leaf?" Valleykit's plummy brown-and-white tail gently rested on her sister's shoulder and in sends had herself wrapped all around her silver-furred sister's flank. Her purrs were loud but unqie, sort of like the chirps of a bird, "It'll be fun! Right, Grasskit? Snakekit?"

“BUT...But... but...”her cries getting softer with each repeat after her sister’s suggestion and soothing chirps. She was still sniffling, but at least the high pitched wailing had stopped “You all will help me?” She whimpered, his big eyes watering “it’s gotta be a really special art piece for daddy, something that will make him smile”
"Sure we will!" Valleykit hadn't quite figured out where they would get their supplies for whatever sort of art they were making, but she did have an idea of where to start, "What we need first is a canvas... any ideas? Snakekit? Grasskit?" She gave them both an adorable pleading look, it was one that sometimes ever worked on Tinymutiny, so pretty high quality.
Snakekit had no clue how to help, but he still wanted to. Weepingkit's rejection of his help had stung horribly and he was frantic to fix the situation. "Uh what's a canvas again?" He was chewing on one paw, agitated but trying not to show it. He put the paw back down when he noticed and smiled brightly. "I'll find anything you ask me to!"

Weepingkit sniffled, pulling her leaf in and cradling it up against her chest "Thank you Valleykit, Snakekit" she rocked the leaf back and forth like a baby "It'll be ok, i'll fix you right up and we will make daddy smile together!"
"Well, what's Cherrykit saying all the time... uh.... anything can be a canvas? You know, the walls, the body, that kind of stuff. I think we should use body paint the stick the bits of leaf to... something. Maybe another leaf?" Valleykit tipped her head to the side, trying to draw Weepingkit's eyes to her own, "How does that sound, Weepingkit?" Her amber eyes flashed bright as a new idea came to mind, "Oh! How about we find leaves from a weeping willow!"
His sister was so good at this. He was relaxing now that Weepingkit was calming down. "Where are we gonna find a weeping willow?" asked Snakekit, eyes sparkling.

Weepingkit slowly nodded, lifting a paw to wipe away he tears keeping the leaf bits firmly between her paws so that she wouldn't loose them "but we aren't allowed out of camp"
"There are ways." Valleykit purred, although her heart was racing, she wasn't much of a rule-breaker yet here she was, breaking the biggest one of them all, "This whole camp is full of tunnels. They guard the biggest ones, but there are little ones too, ones only kits can use. And one of them surely is a way out... but... I don't know." She was beginning to have second thoughts; her tail was low to the ground and waiving slightly, "... we could get in a lot of trouble."
