Shadeflower had let out a soft sigh as she basked in the sun. The tortoiseshell had begun to distance herself from the rest of her clanmates, something she was perfectly content with at the moment. The warrior had come back from a decent hunting expedition and after placing her catch on the fresh-kill pile found a comfortable spot in the sun. She turned her head as she began to groom herself, her ears alert as she listened to the noise around her. Occasionally she would lift her eyes, glancing around the camp at the rest of her clanmates. Her green eyes narrowed ever so slightly before she returned to her grooming as the sun warmed her pelt.
With her parents imprisoned, Jetfire now in the den of the High Priest, and her younger siblings now taken by Bloodyrondo. Goldengrace didn't know what to think.
Walking around camp, she found herself glancing around warily, trying to keep track of everyone. Unsure who all would be sympathetic or believed Bloodyrondo's load of fox dung.
She spotted Shadeflower, and immediately snagged a small mouse and went over to her. Of everyone at least she knew where Shadeflower stood, the she cat having been keen to try and attack Bloodyrondo and only through much persuasion hadn't.
"Mind if I sit here?" Goldengrace mumbled around her mouse as she went over to the she cat, sitting down next to her.

The mottled tortoiseshell paused briefly, her ears twitching as she heard the soft approach. The warrior swallowed a soft groan before she looked up and noticed Goldengrace. Shadeflower quickly sat up as she watched the warrior approach. “No of course not.” Shadeflower said, quickly dipping her head. After Goldengrace had settled down, Shadeflower lowered herself back onto the ground.
“How… well how have you been?” She asked softly. “Have you been well? I know it must be a silly question after everything that’s happened…”
"Well, I'm not imprisoned or dead, or stuck being close to Bloodyrondo because I have milk to feed kits like my sister...but that's not saying much considering everything," Goldengrace muttered setting her mouse down her ears flattening. "But I guess I'm alive and free for now."
She'd debated leaving, just running for the hills. But she couldn't abandon her family to their fate here. She didn't know what she could do to help, but she hoped she could in some way lighten the burden.
Plus there were still good cats like Shadeflower in SunClan, and if they stayed maybe an opportunity to end this insanity could arise. Enough of them just needed to stay and endure the madness.
"How bout you?" Goldengrace asked, "Oh, want some?" She asked holding up the mouse in offering.

Shadeflower smiled softly at the offer and shook her head. "Thank you, but I'm quite alright. That's all for you." She twitched her whiskers as she took in her words. She glanced around the camp once more, something she realized she had been doing frequently as of late. She just wasn't sure who to trust anymore. Well... with the exception of Goldengrace that was. Shadeflower still regretted not doing anything to help... she had just stood there and watched. The she-cat shook her head. There was nothing to be done about that, and she shouldn't linger on it.
"I suppose that's one perk of being a she-cat in this clan." Shadeflower said with a shrug. "Though, I worry that even that may change with... well with him."
"It'll definitely change," Goldengrace muttered. "You weren't at the gathering where Little-," She couldn't be caught calling her mother by her old name, but she would not call her Littlecrow. "My mom murdered the Sun God right? The Sun God forced the old soothsayer to get pregnant you know," She said lowering her voice in a hushed whisper. "That was why my mom took him out, he wasn't a good noble god for us to follow anymore. But that's why Bloodyrondo's all... you know. So... I'd be wary not to catch Bloodyrondo's ire."

"No... I wasn't at the gathering but I had heard of what happened. Its all the clan would talk about..." Shadeflower shook her heads the memories danced in her mind. She had been angry at first, but what sort of god would force anyone to become pregnant? No god of hers that was for sure. A small part of her admired Littlestar for her actions. But he was still a god regardless. The tortoiseshell curled a lip.
"When did everything become so complicated?" Shadeflower hissed softly. "Gods thinking they can do what they please, cats taking justice into their own paws... Oh, those poor kits... poor Skipstep... I am truly sorry for what you and your family went through, Goldengrace. Littlestar did not deserve what happened to her. I can only pray that the next Sun god brings justice..."
Goldengrace tensed when Shadeflower said Littlestar, she quickly, but still doing her best to be subtle, glanced around.
As far as she could tell no one had seen or overheard. But she hastily finished her mouse.
"Well, now that I'm fed, let's go for a hunt," Goldengrace said quickly rising to her paws and nudging Shadeflower towards the tunnel, putting her mouth right by Shadeflower's ear. "You can't call my mother such here," She whispered sharply. "Lest you join the others in prison."
Then louder and with her tail behind Shadeflower's flank. "Come on Shadeflower, the mice are running really well near the eastern border." She said urging the other cat out of camp.

Shadeflower let out a soft mew of surprise as she was suddenly ushered to her paws and through the tunnel. The mottled tortoiseshell nearly stumbled and tripped over her own paws as she tried to keep up with Goldengrace. Her ear twitched rapidly as the warrior whispered to her. The she-cat curled her lip as she looked back in the direction of the camp, her green eyes narrowing into slits. However, she made sure she was out of ear shot before she spoke.
"Bloodyrondo is not High Priest yet." The tortoiseshell hissed softly as soon as the two warriors were out of the camp. "And he is no high priest of mine... though you knew that already..."
Shadeflower let out a sigh as she looked at the other she-cat. The mottled tortoiseshell would have to watch her words. She knew this, and it would be no good getting Goldengrace worked up. The Sunclan warrior had been through enough already.
Goldengrace sighed, "I know, but he will be taking the title regardless." She reminded her. "And now that we're stuck here... all we can really do is just... wait it out. Come on, let's go towards the border to the east. There shouldn't be a lot of patrols there, they're mostly looking for the runaways in the clans rather than in the rogue lands." She meowed beckoning for Shadeflower to walk beside her now that they weren't in camp and there weren't any cats in immediate earshot.
"At this point the way I look at it is... a storm has blown in, a bad one. But just a storm. We just have to wait it out and then eventually it too will pass." She assured her friend. "We need to be strong during this time... else we'll lose SunClan for sure."

The mottled tortoiseshell looked over at her before nodding. She walked next to her, tail lashing slightly as she moved. Shadeflower shook her head as she looked around the forest for a brief moment. "Wherever the Sun god is, they need to make an appearance... preferably soon." The she-cat muttered.
"Even the smallest storm can do the worst damage." Shadeflower said softly. "Bloodyrondo and his... loyal followers have made that clear. Families separated... others prisoner... and for what? The delusions of a lunatic... I fear for what he has planned for the clan..."
Goldengrace sighed. "I hope he does soon too, but we must weather this storm." She meowed. "Bloodyrondo is still getting settled in, there is bound to be an opening we can exploit if we keep our ears pricked and our eyes sharp."
"But he's going to be keeping a close eye on me, so you'll have to keep an eye out and maybe even try to see if you can slip in near the prisoners... at least make sure my father is okay." Goldengrace said softly.

Shadeflower flicked her ears as she glanced at the she-cat. "Have you not been able to see your family...?" The mottled warrior cursed herself inwardly. It was a foolish question to ask, she knew this now. But still, she could not believe it. Hasn't Bloodyrondo hurt this family enough?
"Surely he would allow you to see them with supervision." She mewed. "It may not be much but... at least you would be able to see your family. Perhaps there is a way that I can sneak you there. To see your father and siblings."
