Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
They had been traveling ever since the invasion of SunClan. The clan was looking for a new home, and it might be a long time before they found it. For the night they had chosen to settle on an exposed plain where the cats could huddle close together for warmth if the summer moon was not warm enough.
Shatteredshine was restless that night. Her injures from the battle stung, but what hurt more was knowing that they had lost the battle. SwiftClan had been driven from their own home. What if they were attacked again? The she-cat heaved herself to her paws, looking around them fearfully.
"Are you alright, Shatteredshine?" Tinybreath glanced up tiredly from where she lay beside Shatteredshine and her siblings, Sliprabbit already curled up in a deep sleep on the she-cat's other side. The recent loss to Sunclan had been...difficult. Not as hard as losing Waterclan, or Phoenixstar and Lightingswift, but it was a tough piece of crowfood to swallow all the same. The black she-cat's lungs still burned from overexerting herself to protect the clan nursery, but she hit the pain well, as she had for most of her life. She had to remain strong, for her adoptive daughters.
The faint chirps of crickets cut through an otherwise silent night as the warrior rose to her paws beside her niece, careful not to wake up any of their other family members around them. "Would a midnight walk help settle your nerves? I remember seeing a nice, cool stream not too far from here."
"I suppose," she replied tensely, still shooting furtive glances around the ragged camp as if enemies were going to come pouring from the bushes. Her muscles were still sore and aching from the fight, her skin shredded from countless scratches, and she doubted she would last long if she had to start another fight. Let SunClan be happy with their victory, please.
Shatteredshine looked back over as Tinybreath stood up and smiled a little. "That would be nice," she admitted, "I could use a drink to calm down again."
