Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. Windyhurricane didn't wake up from his nest. For as cold as the evenings got, this particular one was quite hot, but it was SummerClan. When a warrior came to check up on him from not waking up sooner they found him with a high temperature, he was over heating. He was an outsider, born in WinterClan, he had naturally thick dense layers of fur on top of the usual baggage of nature that got tangled up in his fur. He was suffering bad from the heat, possibly having a heatstroke, but definitely needed a way to cool off. Usually he would roll around in mud or take a long dip in the lake, but as the summer moons became increasing hotter he was suffering more and more.

Gentlebreeze felt extra warm when she awoke. She had been sleeping next to Windyhurricane in the warriors den. Placing her paw on his coat, she discovered where the heat was coming from. After making several attempts to wake him up, she realized he needed some serious help. Heat was coming off the thick furred warrior in waves and she knew he had to get cooled down fast.
Grabbing a mouth full of old bedding moss, she dashed out of the den to soak the moss in the stream near the camp. On her way back in, she saw her son, Graythorn padding across the camp. After telling him the problem, both cats rushed into the warriors den.
"Place the moss around his head," the medicine cat instructed his mother. While Gentlebreeze worked on Windyhurricane's head, Graythorn groomed his fur in an effort to allow more air into the skin.
Windyhurricane's breath was shallow, but became a little more pronounced as his temperature went down slowly. He stirred, but it was barely noticeable, it was only when he opened his eyes that it was clear he was cooling down a bit. The sweat coming from his paws was heavy and his thick matted pelt was only making things worse. Not to mention the temperature would only naturally rise as the day continued. He looked grateful as he stared at Graythorn, but the heat was pulling at him to sleep once more, it was hard to even think of uttering a word to the medicine cat and warrior.

"It's working but we've got to get his temperature down," Graythorn meowed. "Go to the stream and bring back some more wet moss," he told Gentlebreeze. "I'll get some feverfew and juniper berries from my stores." He hoped he could rouse Windyhurricane enough so that he could make it to the stream under his own power. Cold water and lots of it is what was needed most.
The gray tabby she cat gathered up some more moss and went to the stream while Graythorn went to get the medicine. He arrived back ahead of his mother and place the berries on the ground. Taking the leaves, he held them up so that Windyhurricane could take them. "Come on," he mewed. "Wake up and eat these herbs."
Windyhurricane began drifting off when he felt the cold water pressed up against his forehead. Opening his eyes he saw the herbs Graythorn was offering to him and lapped them up slowly. His mouth was clearly dry as he struggled to swallow the herbs, but managed to get them down. "Thank-you," He whispered, his throat felt too raw to speak at his full volume.
The water was beginning to warm against his forehead, but he already felt better having felt it against him. He finally no longer feel the lull of sleep tugging at him. Raising his gaze to meet Graythorn he looked more attentive.

"Good, good," Graythorn mewed when he saw Windyhurricane reviving. "Now take it easy," he cautioned, not wanting the warrior to overexert himself. "When you're feeling up to walking, the best thing for you to do is to lay in the stream." Seeing a movement at the door, he turned to see Gentlebreeze coming back. Taking one of the pieces of wet moss she brought, he set it down at Windyhurricane's paws. "Lick this moss to get some water into your system."
Meanwhile Gentlebreeze took the remaining piece of wet moss and began to wipe down the warm warrior's back. Cool water trickled down from his neck to the base of his tail.
Windyhurricane eagerly lapped up the water, but when he realized he was overexerting himself he took slower sips before his shoulders sagged and he relaxed once more. He bought himself sometime and once he felt certain that movement wouldn't cause him to black out he stood up slowly. Lying in a stream did sound refreshing.
