Hi. So this is the board you go to to make a character thread. Just click create a thread and name it whatever you want cause you can always edit it later

and to link it to your profile, you go to My Profile > Edit Profile > Personal and down at the bottom is a box that says Character Thread Number. for instance, this is thread 7552, which you can find after the thread/ in the url. so once you make a character thread, you'll put the number that thread has in that box and it will automatically make a link to it for your profile.

as for character page layouts; some people code their own but bbcode isn't fun so i don't recommend it. there are a few free to use layouts here on site in the technical help board. there's also a bunch of cute templates on adoxographyv2.boards.net/ and templatehq.proboards.com/

most layouts will have a specific spot for a picture. it'll most likely be either shown by a generic picture like this one (in this case, the black cat picture)



or a placeholder image like this one



after you have your picture, you need to look into the code to see how big the image should be. i recommend cropping it down to exactly what the code says. for instance. 



code is laid out from top to bottom, background to foreground. so we can figure that the first image in the code is the background and the second is the actual cat picture. here, the picture is 195 x 290. there's a couple different programs you can use for cropping. i use pixlr.com cause it's browser based and really easy.

once you save your cropped picture, you'll wanna upload it to something like imgur. honestly, imgur is the easiest way to but i've also posted them on a private discord. then you just take the direct link it gives you and put it in that src line. you just gotta make sure you don't accidentally erase any of the quotation marks or equal signs. hope that makes sense
