Jetfire
SunClan Warrior
The Sweet
Jetfire waited on Bloodyrondo in the High Priest den, her eyes not lifting from her small paws. This was her fault, all her fault. She had known what was coming, but she hadn't been able to stop it. She had been ordered to wait here for him so that they could talk. She shifted her weight back and forth, her slowly swelling stomach making it impossible for her to sit comfortably. Why had she ever trusted him? SHe had told him everything... about her sister and Sorrowfularia.. how he had rejected her... She had thought that maybe he would be the one cat that would understand after Satinlights... but it seemed her trust had been misplaced...
"Jetfire." Bloodyrondo entered what was now to be his den, spoke her name, even touched his nose to hers, but he didn't look her in the eyes. Was it shame that held him back? Not quite, but he couldn't name how he felt about her. All he felt right now was fire and ambition. He'd done it. He'd get to be High Priest soon enough and had weeded out most of the traitors in his Clan. But looking at Jetfire filled him was an emotion comparable to regret. A apology danced on the time of his tongue but his mind was so broken that he didn't quite know what it was for. He sighed, "I hope you are fairing well. I was worried you were going to be caught up in that conflict, but you seem unharmed."

Jetfire flinched at his touch, a shiver of disgust working it's way down her spine "Don't touch me" she snapped, but it lacked her normal fire her words were laced with, her eyes never leaving the ground out of fear of angering him. Had it only been her life in the balance the outcome would have been very different, but he had her siblings and parents at his mercy. Not to mention she was carrying kits, and she had little doubt that he would take them from her in a heartbeat if she fought against him... She had watched as her younger siblings were torn away from her father....
"Don't be like that," Bloodyrondo meant to sound a touch flirty, but his tone was wrong; his words came across more as a command. Regardless, he did not push it, not because she asked him to stop but because he just was not feeling it. His heart was too empty. He decided to change the subject, "Have you been taking your herbs?"
Bloodyrondo was referring to the borage-fenugeek mixture that he had preparing for her the last few days. He had not explained to Jetfire why she needed them; however, as the High Priestess's daughter, she likely had spent enough time around herbs to connect the dots.

Jetfire wanted to just melt into the ground and disappear, her skin was itching just being in the same den as him making her even more uncomfortable. She couldn't help but wonder if the blood that still clung to his pelt was her mothers...
Her eyes went to the herb bundles that lay neatly outside of the side of the den he had previously occupied. He had bringing them to her for several days now. At first she thought they were just normal pregnancy herbs, but upon closer inspection she realized that wasn't quite right... They were herbs using for pregnant queens, but usually towards the end of pregnancy to help them build up a milk supply before the kits were born.
She was still towards the beginning of her pregnancy... Unfortunately she had only discovered the farce to late and she was already begining to produce a small amount of milk... After a few tense moments, she reluctantly nodded
"Come on, Jetfire, you're making me worried." Bloodyrondo counted the herbs, the numbers were right, and he could smell milk in the air. Of course, it wasn't all that long ago that another queen was nursing kits here. Only now he lifted his gaze to meet hers and cocked his head ever so slightly. He really did seem concerned, "You're not acting like yourself. I understand that things are... complicated right now... but you need to cheer up. You're going to be a mother! There's nothing more beautiful in the entire world than that."

Jetfire looked away, any where but directly at him. Accusatory statements dancing on the tip of her tongue, threatening to spill out into the open air. It was only her fear of what he would do if she talked openly that kept them as thoughts instead of words. What was she supposed to say to that? That her kits wouldn't get to meet their grand parents? That she despised him for what he had done to her mother? So many words she couldn't speak "Morning sickness..." she mumbled as an excuse
"That's all?" Bloodyrondo padded into the Priest Promised's den and rummaged around in his personal herb stores that he had not yet moved. Early on in his training he had been drawn to extracts and he had learned that this one in particular was great at soothing a sore stomach. When he returned he had a small bottle in his jaws - twolegcraft - and carefully removed the cork in the top of it. The room immediately filled with a strong minty scent, "This is peppermint extract. Just put a little bit of it under your nose and it should help."

Jetfire closed he eyes as he applied the herb under her nose, it's strong scent filling her nose. She pulled away trying not to recoil from his touch, rising to her paws to leave "I'm going to go rest..." she was sick to her stomach, but morning sickness had nothing to do with it. Just being here... with him.. alone... it was enough to make her nauseated
"That will have to wait until later, Jetfire, you and I have an obligation," Bloodyrondo's tone gave no room for argument. He beckoned for her with his tail, a distant look in his celadon eyes, "I'll give you a few minutes for the peppermint to take hold."

Jetfire reluctantly stopped, having almost made her escape away from him and into the relative safety of the darkness of the side den. She slowly turned back towards him, sitting down and wrapping her tail around her swollen stomach closing her eyes and taking in a few deep breathes. It look like it was because of the nausea, but really she was just trying to calm herself. Whatever he had in mind, she really wanted nothing to do with it. Fighting her inner panic, she swallowed opening her eyes "Do we now?" using the word we left a bitter taste on her tongue
"Of course," Bloodyrondo replied although he intentionally did not elaborate. He knew that if Jetfire was aware of where we would be leading her next, she would surely make some sort of excuse to try and avoid it. They stood in silence for a few moments before Bloodyrondo began to exit the den. Without looking back, he softly meowed, "We need to hurry. I'd like to be back before the sun sets."

Jetfire slowly rose to her paws, stopping at the entrance for a moment staring after him trying to calm herself. Was he going to humiliate her next? The clan wasn't gathered, not that it eased her anxiety any. She took in a deep breathe, slowly following....
[don't worry, Faith has me trained well, we all hate traveling RPs]
It probably wouldn't have taken Jetfire long to figure out where Bloodyrondo was leading her. The Janus camp, at least, the public part of it, where SunClan's main prisoners were currently being kept. He didn't really need to speak, she surely got the idea, but he always felt the need to fill the silence, "We are going to visit the prison so those who dwell there never lose sight of what they could have had if they had stayed loyal to the Sun God. Perhaps you can talk some sense into them. If they pledge their loyalty to me and our deity, I will free them."

Jetfire figured out where they were going the moment they began to walk up the ceremony spring's hill, not that it made it any easier. Each step felt like she was walking on thorns "You are going to let them go?" she questioned tilting her head to the side.
"Only if they swear their loyalty to myself and the Sun God. They will have to go through Initiation and will be watched closely, but there is no reason for a true follower of the Sun to be locked in prison," Bloodyrondo replied as they began their descent into the dungeons. Already they could hear voices of their old clanmates echo throughout the tunnels, it sounded like a normal day in camp, almost, except laughter was entirely absent. After passing by a couple of guards, then approached the main chamber first.
