Vixenpaw placed her paw on Ravenskit's tail as he eagerly tried to jump into the gathering of cats. The small kit let out a soft squeak as he fell short. He glanced back at his sister, who was watching the rest of the clan with slitted amber eyes. She had heard her name being called as she was assigned a new mentor, but had no intentions of moving from where she sat at the edge of the large gathering.
"Vixenpaw, come one." Ravenskit mewed as he gently pawed at her foreleg. "Don't you want to go meet Tatteredraven? Or even say hi to the other apprentices?"
"Why?" Vixenpaw asked softly. "I know who she is. I'm sure she knows who I am. We're fine here."
"Please?" The black kit pleaded, his blue eyes growing wide as he looked up at her. "I really want to go! They look like they're having fun!"
Darlingpaw rolled her ocean blue eyes as she was assigned her new mentor, she hadn't gotten on well with the last one and she honestly didn't see her training with Crownglass going any differently. With the ceremonies now over she stood up to take her leave, shaking her scar covered pelt as she vanished into the apprentices den once more.
Tatteredraven was pleased to have been given an apprentice again, but when the young she-cat remained seated at the edge of the gathering she wondered if she wasnt pleased with the choice that was made. Her eyes focused on Vixenpaw the warrior smiled and slipped out of the thronged of cats, trotting up to her new apprentices side. "Hey Vixenpaw, and hello to you too Ravenkit." She let her eyes move between the pair and dipped her head to the kit in greeting before taking a seat beside the apprentice.

Ravenskit let out a loud purr as Taintedraven approached them. He loved his sister with all his heart, but he wished that she would let him at least make friends with the others. Vixenpaw seemed less then pleased with the warrior's approach. She quickly released her brother's tail as her claws slid out before she quickly sheathed them. Her tail bristled softly and the apprentice kept her eyes on the ground.
"Hi! You're my sister's new mentor!" The black tom kit said, seemingly more excited than his sister. "That's so cool! Don't you think so, Vixenpaw? I think it is!"
A new apprentice! Crownglass couldn't hide his excitement; his wide grin stretched from ear to ear. He pranced away from his family to meet Darlingpaw. "Hi-" he began, but she was already turning away and heading into the apprentice's den.
Pumpkinspice's first reaction was to beam with pride at her promotion. It seemed like she had been an apprentice forever, and now she was finally promoted! Perhaps now she could relax and eat whatever whenever she wanted, especially since she was a nursery aid. It wasn't like there were too many kits in the clan - oh wait. Her ears fell, tail drooping as she remembered the sudden clan of kits that had just appeared in Hystericstar's den just a few days ago. She would have her paws full, wouldn't she? Would she even have time to eat?
Normally, Mangopaw would go search for her new mentor, but the cold paw of fear had gripped her heart when she learned just who her new mentor was. Strongjaw was a goliath of a cat, the complete opposite of Mangopaw's tiny form. Just imagining the tom was enough to cause her to tremble where she stood, paralyzed by fear.
Tatteredraven purred at Ravenkits excitement and let out an airy laugh. "That's right little one, I'm your sisters mentor." She returned her gaze to Vixenpaw, her smile softening. "You can go and relax if you like, now that the ceremony is over." Tatteredraven could tell that the apprentice wasn't comfortable and she couldn't help but to remember herself at that age. "Why don't the two of you go and eat?" Offering the apprentice a way out, the warrior got to her paws, giving her one final glance before walking over to try and comfort the crestfallen Crownglass.
Well, even if his apprentice didn't care to talk to him, he knew who did! Crownglass turned and bounced back to Pumpkinspice, bumping her affectionately. "I'm so proud of you, kid!" he beamed. "I always knew you could do it! Why do you look so bummed? You're going to be the best nursery aid in the clan - after Seablossom, of course!" He turned to see Tatteredraven and grinned at her broadly. "Don't you agree?"
Though Pumpkinspice gave her previous mentor a smile, it was strained. He was right though, she shouldn't be feeling so bummed about this, but her eating time... She gave a glance back to the nursery, where she could already see a large group of kits. "How am I ever going to eat?" she muttered, bringing her gaze back to Crownglass, eyes wide as if she were trying to beg something of him.
