The russet pelt apprentice crouched down close beside the nursery, her eyes half closed but her ears alert as she listened to the sounds around her. Her slender tail curled around her white paws and hid her unsheathed claws as she slowly flexed them in the dirt. The muscles in her back twitched every so often as her younger brother climbed on top of her. Ravenskit had claimed he was practicing some moves he saw the other apprentices performing right outside their den. Vixenpaw didn't mind as her brother attempted the moves, only opening her eyes to see if the kit was alright when he tumbled off her. But the small black tom quickly jumped back onto his paws. He charged at his sister with a loud squeak, battering her sides with his hind paws. Vixenpaw let out a startled hiss when her brother accidentally unsheathed his claws on her. The young she-cat quickly jumped up from her crouch, startling Ravenskit as he too jumped up.
"Ravenskit, you did it again..." Vixenpaw muttered as she looked at her side. Ravenskit looked up at his sister and quickly pressed his nose against her side. The little black tom hoped that it would make his big sister feel better. The apprentice rolled her eyes and gently cuffed her brother around the ears before she crouched back down. The small tom let out a purr as he quickly climbed in between her forepaws.
"You're lucky you can't do any real damage yet..." The orange colored she-cat muttered as she went back to observing the rest of her clanmates.
While she didn't consider herself shy by any means, there was hesitation settled firmly on her expression as Gardenkit crept out the nursery. She took comfort in her siblings' presences, in particular Meadowkit, but her gaze couldn't pinpoint any of them nearby so she felt just a bit smaller on her own. She noticed Vixenpaw and Ravenskit play brawling a bit ahead of her, though her gaze betrayed the internal struggle she felt; did she feel confident enough to approach them herself, or did the quiet fringes of camp look more appealing?

Ravenskit has made himself comfortable as his sister began to groom his pelt. A loud purr erupted from his small body as his eyes fell closed. He enjoyed this time with his sister. They didn’t get to hang out much since she was always training. The little black tom thought that his sister was going to be the best warrior ever! That was until he became a warrior. Then she wouldn’t stand a chance next to his amazingness! His ears twitched as he heard something close to the nursery and he opened his eyes. Ravenskit perked you and nearly jumped out of his sister’s paws. Vixenpaw has quickly lifted her head to avoid being head butted. “Gardenkit! Hi! Over here!” Ravenskit squealed as he tried to grab the attention of his denmate
She'd just made her decision, clear in the way her paws were turned to take her away from the pair, but it was too late- Ravenskit's voice could slice through ice, signifying he'd seen her before she had the chance to skirt away. Turning back in their direction, Gardenkit drew in a stabilizing breath; however, her calico colors still bristled with anxiety that burned her paws with each step she took. "H-hi, Ravenskit... Vixenpaw," she greeted them. While nervous she was not unkind, but her reservations were often interpreted as frostiness.

Vixenpaw flicked her ears as she watched the kit approach. Something about her seemed... off, and it out the young apprentice on edge. However, Ravenskit was clueless and quickly ran over to her. The young tom quickly forgot the meaning of personal space as he smiled brightly at her. “Hi! How are you! We’re you coming out of the nursery? Do you want to explore? Vixenpaw could take us if you wanted!”
“Ravenskit.” Vixenpaw scolded as she pulled her brother back, gently grabbing his tail in her mouth and pulling him back. “You’re going to overwhelm her...”
The small tom had a sunbright enthusiasm that probably put most at ease with him, and perhaps it could thaw Gardenkit's chilly demeanor in time, but in this moment she was beyond thankful when Vixenpaw herded him back. Out of camp? With them? She wasn't sure about that.... though, with the way Ravenskit was staring at her, she didn't feel she could decline, even if she could detect some uncertainty on the apprentice's part. "If it's okay with Vixenpaw..." she hedged with a glance at the she-cat.

“Please, Vixenpaw?” Ravenskit pleaded as he turned towards his sister. He seemed unpaused by the way his sister had pulled home back. Vixenpaw flicked her ears as she looked between the two kits. Gardenkit didn’t look as though she really wanted to go outside of the camp. The apprentice flexed her claws into the earth as she was prone to do while thinking. Ravenskit bounced excitedly on his paws as he waited for her answer.
“...Well...” Vixenpaw said softly. “We could get in trouble if we go outside of the camp. But we can figure out something to do inside the camp? That could be fun, right?”
There might have been some indiscernible tension between she and Vixenpaw, but Gardenkit couldn't help but appreciate how keen the older she-cat was at picking up on her feelings. It helped to make the little calico feel a bit more at ease. "Maybe Vixenpaw could teach us some apprentice crouches? If you wouldn't mind..." she suggested.

"She can teach us lots of things!" Ravenskit squealed as he started jumping on top of his sister again. Vixenpaw flicked her ears as she looked back at her brother. She really hoped he would keep his claws sheathed this time as he climbed all over her. But it didn't stop Ravenskit from the compliments he had about his sister's skills. "Vixenpaw used to take care of me all by herself before she brought me here! I think she should have been a warrior but they had to make her an apprentice because she wasn't old enough yet, but she's the best! She has the best crouches, and the best fighting moves, and she can be really quiet when she's hunting!"
