Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Mushroomkit rarely left his mothers side, always coming up with excuses to remain near her without coming off as needy or overly attached but today he had taken it upon himself to creep out of the nursery alone, his smokey black pelt blending into the night with ease as he ventured further from the milk scented den.
"Hey! Look out!" Came a warning squeak as a moss ball flew through the air, hurtling toward Mushroomkit. Unfortunately, the little black Kit's warning came too late and the moss ball bounced off Mushroomkit's head. A very stunning black she-kit bounded over, her hypnotizing sapphire blue eyes apologetic. She was very young and still had much of her fluffy kitten fur but was incredibly smart for one so young. "I'm really sorry! I wasn't watching where I batted my moss ball."
The warning did indeed come too late, by the time the smokey Maine coon turned around the ball of moss was already in front of his face, bouncing off of his forehead and tumbling to the ground. "Obviously, if you had it wouldn't of hit me." Dragging his amber eyes from the ball, he planted them on the other kit, the breath catching in his throat at the sight of her, he quickly shook his head and the look of irritation returned to his face.
The little black she-kit twitched her whiskers in amusement and she gave a little "Ha!" Of laughter. "Your funny! Wanna play moss ball with me? My sister is being a bore." She rolled her pretty blue eyes. "Oh, my name is Astralkit, by the way! You wouldn't know me because I don't live in the nursery. My mum takes care of me in her den. She's the leader!" She puffed out her chest proudly.
He let out a grunt at her cheery disposition, she reminded him of his siblings and it was slightly disturbing, were all other kits like this... annoying. The only difference with her was how pretty she was, it made listening to her a little more bearable. "I'm Mushroomkit, my mom isn't the leader." He lifted himself up to his full height which left him standing taller than the average kit due to his breed, with careful pawsteps he picked up the moss ball and carried it to Astralkit; he didn't drop it though, instead he lifted it up and bounced it gently off of her head.
Her jaw gaped open when she realized just how tall this tom was. But before she could comment, he approached her with the moss ball and bounced it off her head. She flinched when the ball hit her forehead but she burst into laughter and rolled onto her back. She liked this tom. He was funny. "Your so weird!" She rolled onto her side and stared up at him. "Are all other kits like you? This is my first time being out of the den and your the first kit I met besides my lame sister! She's no where near as fun as you!" As she said "you" she pawed him in the chest gently.
Her laughter caught him off guard and he looked down at her as she lay on the ground, his head tilted to the side. "You're the weird one, most of my siblings are like you but for some reason they annoy me more." What was so different about her that he hadn't turned tail and run yet, was she always like this? His thoughts were cut short as her paw brushed his chest and he jumped back instinctively. "I've only ever talked to my siblings and now you, so I don't know what the rest are like." He worked hard to avoid the other kits and even ignored his own family sometimes when he wanted to be alone, none of them had ever called him fun before.
She raised a brow as she climbed back onto her tiny little paws. "I'm like the rest of your siblings?" She tilted her head. She thought she was different. Perhaps she just needed to show him that she was different. She looked at the moss ball, now laying motionless on the cavern floor before turning to look at the cavern entrance. Finally, her blue eyes met his once more. "As you know, this is my first time out of the den. But the cavern is so boring. What do you say, you and me, sneak out of camp?" She suggested, smirking mischievously as if she were almost daring him to take her up on her offer.
He opened his mouth to answer her but closed it again, to anyone else it was probably an easy question to answer but for him it required thought. Would he really follow her and sneak out of camp, perhaps he should just say no and go back to his mother, then what would Astralkit think of him? As the only cat to ever say he was fun, he really didn't want to give her any reason to think otherwise. "Alright, I'll go, but you arent the boss... Got it?" Who was he kidding, if she told him to do something he would probably go ahead and do it at this point.
"Yeah, okay" she purred. "I think we should go when the sun is up. No one will be awake and we can explore as much as we want without fearing someone noticing we are gone! Let's agree to meet back here at dawn. Deal?"
