Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Okay, so it probably wasn't generally acceptable for someone to knock out their ex and drag them back to the clan they'd formerly led. The clan currently led by their other ex, and both of said exes were now engaged. Foxbane was sure it would be fiiine.
It might only cause irreparable damage to her relationship with Glowstar in the pursuit of making things right. Now, they just had to ignore the 'knocked him out' part and trust her on this one. Not that anyone in DayClan was about to trust that Foxbane hadn't just killed Deal and brought his body into camp... at least not until they saw the obvious signs of him breathing. And even then, she didn't expect a lot of trust, so when she set him down she took a few steps back out of range of him and sat down, waiting for him to wake.
Okay, a moment of honesty: being a loner sucked. This was what, his third attempt at the life? and it was easy to remember why he once liked clans. When he slowly opened his eyes to find a familiar old camp, he couldn’t help hoping it had all been a dream. He was still deputy or leader, on top of the world; or maybe this was just a nice-looking purgatory his soul was stuck in while he waited for his deathplace to be decided.
But then his head flipped back and he saw Foxbane, so they must have decided tk send him to hell.

The third member of that equation was left out, but not for long. The walk was easy, and when he wasn't being a Nemesis or doing some experiment or another, he liked to come and talk with the Dayclanners. Though, just as Foxbane, he didn't expect them to trust him either. So when he sauntered on the scene, there wasn't much of a commotion, like he may as well be here. As the group milled around some centerpiece, the Nemesis glided his way through before standing next to Foxbane, a little ahead of her.
Funk held his paw in front of Deal's mouth. Yep, still breathing. Though he looked familiar, at the same time not. Something like fire licked at him and he lightly touched Deal's nose before backing away. "Mornin' sunshine. Had a good nap?"
The wind stirred the heavy wisteria tree branches like the ghostly hands of fate were luring Glowstar to the scene unfolding nearby. She could catch Deal's black and white body a mile away, she always did, but usually they were tricks of the mind. Any black and white pelt caught her attention, every white tailed looking plant, every whisper of the wind her head turned wondering if it was him. This time though it was him, she had to stare for a full moment in order to really let it sink in that he was in camp.
She half stood up before lying down, did he want to see her? As the wind blew back more she caught the glimpse of Funk's bengal pelt and Foxbane's fiery fur before deciding to wander over. Seeing Foxbane standing over Deal she playfully pushed herself into Foxbane, not to tease her so much as to remind herself that Foxbane was her mate now or close to being her mate so there was no need to fear that she would turn murderous towards Deal. But she could feel her mind searching for the memory of Foxbane standing over Deal, stealing his life, leaving her helpless to save him. Just remembering it made her want to press her paw over Deal's throat as though he were still bleeding.
"Are you alright Deal?" Glowstar asked gently before batting her paw over Foxbane's muzzle, this time teasingly, "You know this isn't SunClan, there's no need to make someone join," She purred.
His instincts may have been a little sleepy still for him to greet Foxbane so calmly - or maybe he was finally getting used to her antics, or genuinely believed she wasn't going to hurt him but did anyone ever really think that? - but when a stranger's paw floated in front of his face, that was enough to startle him into action. Deal jerked and scrambled to his paws, wavering slightly until he found his balance, and took a few large steps back away from Funk E'tan.
"Who-?!?" he sputtered, staring at the exotic coated tom, his head suddenly hurting. The pattern was so familiar, and so was the scent, but when he looked closely at his face he knew it couldn't be the Nemesis he knew returned to haunt him. Vera E'tani had left long ago and she wouldn't be coming back. That was for the best, given what she had done, he reminded himself.
"Glowstar? What am I doing here?" His helpless green gaze switched to her next, pleading for her to explain. He hadn't seen her since they ended things and it shook him more than he could say to see her again, but he pushed it aside for now.
("And then I turned to see my fiances face and she is helpless and I knoooow she is helpless and her eyes are just helpless")
The wind rushed past Glowstar, the helpless look in Deal's eyes left her weak and breathless. The way he stared at her like she held all the answers, he may as well have looked at her like she had the power to collide or crash worlds because it felt all the same to Glowstar. A slow blush formed across her cheeks, faint until it wasn't. "I believe Foxbane brought you here, I just spotted you. Where were you before? If you want to go back I can get you there safely." She glanced behind her with a worried expression and added as her gaze redirected back to Deal, "But if you're not a rush you're always welcome," Her blush deepened further. She was a sucker for those helpless eyes, the same way he came to her in leafbare seeking safety. It was almost a carnivorous instinct inside of her like a wolf drawn to deer knowing they were weaker. But instead the instinct had evolved into an attraction to protecting those in need rather than hunting. Foxbane and Funk E'tan never gave her this natural feeling, they were too much like carnivores such as herself.
As Glowstar leaned into her, Foxbane twined her tail with the DayClan leader's as much a warning to Deal as it was a reminder to herself that Glowstar and Deal weren't together anymore. She'd prepared herself for the possibility of Green's reaction being what it was, but even knowing that did not prepare her for the swirling jealousy that erupted in seeing the she-cat look at Deal this way. Irony. Last time she'd wanted to part them because she was jealous of not having Deal, and this time, it was because of the possibility of losing her future wife, however slim such a thing was.
In contrast to the other's blush, the fox-furred feline's expression darkened, and she forced herself to close her eyes and take a slight breath, though the possessiveness didn't subside in the slightest. "No, I don't need to force Deal to do anything. But he would have stayed wandering all alone and lost if I hadn't brought him here to show him he wasn't about to just get killed." She'd promised Glowstar she'd try. Though this was proving a lot harder than she thought as the urge to tear out his throat mounted with the way one of her fiance's was looking at her ex-mate.
She looked at Deal, her expression colder than it had been a moment before, but she purposely forced herself to stay rooted in place, at Glowstar's side. "You really should be asking the one who brought you." Foxbane noted, tilting her head slightly. "But to answer that question, as I said, you would keep yourself a sad hermit if I didn't bring you here. I'm not going to kill you. If you want to join a clan, even DayClan, you can." She couldn't bring herself to look at Glowstar as her tail slowly unwound from the leader's, and she took a distancing step back.
"You and Glowstar have a lot to catch up on. And it's about time you had the chance, without worrying what I might do." Foxbane walked closer to Funk, barely able to have gotten the words out and take herself apart from the situation, when all she really wanted to do was claw her ex to bits for being able to elicit such a look from the Eerie. She sat beside the Nemesis, letting her pelt brush with his, still unable to bring herself to look at Deal and Glowstar. She couldn't trust herself right not to interfere or murder the black and white tom if she did. "It's about time you stopped living in fear. You deserve a chance at peace."
Glowstar laughed a little as Foxbane's expressions grew colder her gaze drifting away from Foxbane's eye contact. She gave Deal an apologetic look that said give me a moment before rushing back over to Foxbane.
"Fox, I'm so sorry. I know how I must have looked at him... I shouldn't have blushed as hard as I did, that's not fair to you. I just- when I look at him I still see him dead in SunClan camp, I still see him as this cat staring at me like he doesn't trust me. I can't get the glazed over helpless confused look in his eyes out of my head. I dragged him for days to Moon Creek after he was cursed and when it was undone I tried to help him recover, but even then I never saw that light come back in his eyes again. I didn't expect to see him in camp and I didn't expect to see him as him again. I still can't tell if he's back to normal or not," She said looking back over to Deal as though she may have imagined the look in his eyes had changed, but when it didn't she smiled. He was better.
She could have felt Foxbane's jealousy from a mile away. The last thing she wanted Foxbane to feel was doubt, she didn't deserve it. "In fact, I gave you a deal that if you tried to made amends with those you hurt that I would marry you and you've done that. So from now on my side of the deal is that I'll always trust you so long as you do so with our hearts best interest. And if the situation doesn't affect the lives of anyone, but myself I'll always listen to you. You've proven time and again that I should have never doubted you so it's time I stop doubting. I hope you can forgive me, I won't slip up again," Glowstar promised dipping her head to her.
Her heart ached, the only thing that hurt her more than seeing Foxbane like this was knowing she put her in that position. Everyone else saw Foxbane as lucky to have her, but Glowstar couldn't have felt like it was anything but the opposite. She was lucky to have Foxbane, she wanted her for years and having her as a fiance only to let her down? She couldn't have been more ashamed of herself.
He trusted Glowstar. After everything they had been through from youth to marriage to now, he believed every word she said to him. She didn't have anything to do with knocking him out and dragging him here, she would never have agreed to that, and if he demanded to leave right now, she would help him march out of there. But knowing she meant every word didn't make it easier this time. Trusting her didn't change the fact that she was standing here, supporting the cat that had murdered them both, right before each other's eyes. Foxbane was complicated, she was manipulative, and despite what he once felt for the ex-leader himself, he couldn't comprehend standing by her now, knowing full well what she had done.
He opened his mouth to answer her, but interrupted by Foxbane, fell silent again. His eyes narrowed mistrustfully at her, and the possessive way she guarded her mate didn't escape his attention. If the situation was different, he might have laughed; did she truly still believe he could steal away Glowstar? They ended things long ago, and he knew better than to steal from the fox. But Deal couldn't focus on his mirth, too wrapped up in his bitterness at what she was daring to say to him. She had stolen him from his home, where he might have been living very comfortably, and dragged him back to the clans to prove some twisted point about trusting her?
Annoyance flashes his gaze as they all left him alone to speak among themselves. "You couldn't have had a heart-to-heart before you dragged me all the way out here?" Deal grumbled, not really expecting them to hear or care what he said. He propped himself up and turned away from them, quickly examining his body for any new injuries. He felt unharmed, and that made everything worse because Foxbane could have just told him this message in his own den. Even if it was nice to see Glowstar again.

It was a coincidence he was here, so Funk really shouldn't have been surprised when he was more of an outsider to the situation. Too young to really know what happened, only hearing things through whispers and old fairytales. But it still stung, felt like he had nothing to say or do as Fox and Glow talked among themselves. The last thing he wanted was for Glow to be taken away, for her to look at him like that. But it also felt inevitable. Cause that was the kind of person Glowstar was. Funk wrapped his tail with Foxbane's, a hint of a smile on his face. "And if you do, we'll forgive ya." He leaned in to touch his nose to her head before pulling away.
Looking over to Deal, the smile was pulled a little wider. "It'll be okay, old timer. There's at least one cat here who can heal." The Nemesis said with a laugh.
