The large sturdy form of Ocherflame exited the warriors den early that morning. Ready to attack the day headfirst. He padded swiftly to the fresh kill pile to eat before heading out with a few others on a hunting patrol. The sunlight dappled his white, orange and ocher pelt and lit up his already bright aquamarine eyes. Selecting a mouse for himself he carried it back to a patch of sunlight to eat his breakfast.
The tom was not alone is his waking. Ghazen had awoken before the sun rose above the horizon, as always. The pitch-black tom was a nocturnal creature by nature, but his time in SunClan was changing that bit by bit. Maybe once he no longer had to deal with initiation, he would revert back to his old ways, but that was in the future. He stopped trying to predict his own a long time ago. He left the patch of sunlight as the warrior neared, and he ended up bumping shoulders with Ocherflame as he passed. The initiate's icy blue eyes glared at the tom as he started to eat his meal.

Ocherflame felt eyes on him and he fought the urge to look up but did anyway. Aquamarine eyes meeting icy ones. What on earth did he do to this cat besides the small shoulder brush?
Part of the reason for Ghazen's reaction was a test. He had never seen this cat before, despite living in the Clan for a few weeks. Maybe he just never crossed paths with him, but he had to be sure. Ghazen walked back over to where the tom lay down before sending the mouse across the sandstone floor. He tilted his head to the side and sat down.

Ocherflame sighed as he stood up to go retrieve his breakfast. Not entirely sure what the idea was here he moved back over and continued to eat his meal while trying not to react too much to the odd behavior.
The tom was more passive than he thought. Ghazen never thought his type could last long in SunClan. Everyone in the Clan seemed to be more active with their wants, but Ocherflame just let someone he never met step over him. Instead, the tom sat right in front of him and put his paw on the mouse's tail before pulling it over to his feet.

Extending his claws quickly he skewered the mouse on them and pulled it swiftly back and gazed up at the tom with eyes glowing with deeply suppressed anger but mostly annoyance. "May I help you in any way that doesn't include you trying to goad me into fighting you for my meal?" He asked in a voice as calm as still water. Only his eyes would show that he meant business. The large bulky tom was not exactly one to be messed with, he may not have been the young warrior he once was but that didn't mean he was an elder either and he was still formidable.
The dark tom raised a brow when Ocherflame decided to fight back. He found a line, and he walked right across it. He simply pulled his paw back and met the tom's challenging gaze with his own icy one. He had no fear of the larger tom. Ghazen trusted in the skills he acquired in the other clans. "That." He pulled away and sat down, again maintaining his stare.

Ocherflame sighed and shook his head. He had seen this Initiate and heard of his...antics...but usually he was able to steer clear of him. With the black tom's one word answers that made little to no sense he chose to once again remain calm and collected. Instead the anger faded from his eyes and in it's replace was nothing at all. He just willed it all to go away so that he could maintain a neutral situation. In no way was he going to fight....over nothing at all. Ocherflame wasn't some senseless brute and he wouldn't be goaded into being one either.

And then, like a pick driving through the ice, she appeared. A breeze on a sunny day. Anemoneshade was used to the early rising, after being born and raised here, it felt natural. The young lilac warrior could have easily grabbed breakfast before heading off to do her own things. And sometimes she did. But today, she grabbed a squirrel before laying down in the sun next to Ocherflame, somewhat blocking his view of Ghazen and vice versa. Pressing her nose to his in a greeting, she purred, "Why the long face, Dad?"

She always brightened his day when she appeared and instantly his expression warmed. Purring in response he grinned at his daughter. "Oh nothing. Just a bit of an awkward encounter " he side eyed the pitch black tom before focusing again on his kit. "How are you today my bloom?" He asked, using a pet name he had given her as a young kit when her mother had chosen her name. She was his perfect blooming flower. Always a bright reminder of her mother. Always a balm to even his worst days
He raised a brow as this random cat barged between the two of them. He stayed apart from most of the Clan, so he had no idea who was related to whom, but he quickly caught on to the family relation between the pair. Ghazen tilted his head and faced Orcherflame's daughter. His icy gaze was a calm as it was unnerving. "Bloom?"

The clan was so large, it was no wonder there'd be a few awkward encounters. "Good, good." She still answered, ducking down to take a bite of her squirrel. But she remembered something that happened yesterday and batted at her father's paws as she tried to chew faster. She only got half of it down before she started talking, "You won't believe what Fawnroll did yesterday! Okay, so I was..." Anemoneshade started, but then looked down as if she just remembered she was eating and covered her mouth with her paw. "Sorry about that. So, she was--" Anemone definitely rushed to get it down and a few coughs rattled her. But at least she wasn't spewing everywhere when Ghazen asked her something. "Oh yeah, it's my nickname. I'm Anemoneshade by the way."

Ocherflame chuckled at his daughter's usual exuberant attitude and smiled when she didn't miss a beat when Ghazan addressed her by her nickname. She had her strengths. This was one of them. Dissolving awkwardness.
