The Peace Keeper
Littlestar's eyes fluttered open for the first time since the gathering, her body still trembling from the effects of they hypothermia and the fever that had followed. Her mind was sluggish, thoughts hardly having time to form before moving on to the next. The den around her was a blurr her eyes that hadn't opened in several days having trouble focusing. She went to lift her head upwards, only to be greeted by waves of nausea and pain forcing it down again with a groan. The various healers in SunClan had been working around the clock to bring her around, having to carefully monitor her condition as it went from one extreme to the next. Her broken bones had been set and splinted, her cuts cleaned and bound, but she hadn't woken. It left everyone worried, wondering when or if she would open her eyes again. To help her regain consciousness sooner, they had withheld any pain medication, hoping that it would bring her around faster.
Skipstep had been fretting over Littlestar, making sure to get everything Foxbane or Mountainsound needed... well whenever Singedwolf didn't beat him to it.
Had he not been so on edge about Littlestar's state he might not have been so waspish towards the other tom, but with Littlestar as hurt as she was and Singedwolf so pushy to be close to her during this time.... it was making Skipstep very testy.
Hence why both toms were circling around Littlestar, like a game of music chairs waiting for the other to try and lie down beside her so they could shove them aside and take up the spot.
At the sound of her groan he immediately focused on Littlestar making the first wrong move and leaving an opening to the spot beside her.

The Peace Keeper
Everything that happened was hazy, like looking through a frosted window. She could remember Autumngossamer standing out and calling her and Foxbane out in front of the other clans, she could remember getting angry with the Sun God though not why, but the last thing she could remember was the Moon Goddess' words 'Do what you must for your clan' as waves of cold energy that washed over her... then nothing but cold for a long time until fire seared through her body and the realization that she had lost the first of her nine lives. Had a battle broken out? How had she ended up back here? How had she gotten so injured with no memory of anything that had happened?
This time she remained still, "What in the Sun God's name happened?"
“You killed the Sun God, and then you died and took a nap for a few days.”
As Skipstep moved in, he moved back. Singedwolf settled a few steps away on the other side of the den, the silent guard impassive as ever, as if her death was a minor inconvenience that only made his job more difficult because it meant her insufferable mate wouldn’t leave her side. From his stiff posture and moody expression, other cats would be forgiven for thinking he hadn’t cared at all for her death... but everyone knew that he hadn’t left her since her death. The little competition with Skipstep was just for entertainment; there was never a chance he wouldn’t be by her side, waiting.
Despite his neutral posture and unimpressed expression, he didn’t believe for a second Littlestar would believe he had only sat here out of a tired sense of duty. She might not have imagined the stoic tom would break down like he nearly did at the gathering, but he couldn’t fool her into thinking he didn’t care.
“It was proper brutal and for once I approve of your choice.”

"If you approve that means I probably did something..." her sentence got caught short when she started to laugh sending sharp pain down her sides. She sucked in a deep breathe, held it for a few moments before letting it out once more "terrible, now really what happened...Did Foxbane start a riot?" she questioned not understanding that what SIngedwolf had said was indeed the truth, not some sort of sarcasm.
"Easy Littlestar," Skipstep said softly, rasping his tongue over her ears in a soothing gesture. "Singedwolf isn't exaggerating. We found out what the Sun God had done to Autumngossamer, and the moon goddess granted you the power to kill him. You lost a life after the fact and have been out for a few days as Singedwolf said." He nuzzled his mate.

"The Moon Goddess gave me her blessing?" she paused none of this really making much sense, but she blamed it on the pain that was coursing through her. It was like some sort of strange dream, after all the look Singedwolf was giving her... It was something that she hadn't seen before, and both and Skipstep looked disheveled, but his words began to set in... "I killed the Sun God?"
“Yeah. The one thing you’ve done right in your life, frankly.” Singedwolf hated the Sun God and he was never too private about it. After all, that was why the initiate was never made a full member of the clan: they knew he wouldn’t pass the test, and he reckoned he would take most of the young Janus down with him if they tried to finish off his miserable hide. The God played with fire, and he could never follow a cat like that.
“Your deputy has gone quite mad,” he added casually with a yawn.

"What has he done this time?" she swore under her breathe, every time he got an ounce of power he did something ridiculous and started another war. So her clan was without their god, their high priestess has been down for days, and now her promised was doing something mousebrained... She supposed the time for resting was over, even if she couldn't leave her nest
