Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"I don't know, I just think being a warrior looks really hard," Serenekit sighed. She lay on her back with her eyes to the stars, speaking softly to her siblings that she didn't realize were no longer right beside her. "Everyone is always running in and out of camp, they must be tired all the time. And it sounds so dangerous. Don't you think?"
She stopped, craning her neck to look around. "Guys?"
Briarkit had been keeping her mouth shut - a very difficult feat for her - as Serenekit lay there, talking to herself. Finally, as the she-kit turned to notice she was alone, Briarkit burst out into laughter. "Oh man," she giggled, rolling onto her side as her stomach cramped up. "I was wondering how long you were gonna do that for!"
Phantomkit was mentally telling herself not to laugh, but she had also made no promises to herself. She held back as much laughter as she could but a chuckle still managed to escape. She looked up at Serenekit before glancing towards Briarkit. 'You know, I've been told that talking to yourself is a sign you're going crazy." After she said this she couldn't hold anything back anymore and broke out into a much louder laughing fit.
Serenekit scowled at them. "That's so mean," she whined. "I didn't know I was alone! Guys!" As much as it should have hurt to be laughted at, their mirth was infectious, and Serenekit found herself cracking a small smile. "Stop it, it's not funny!"
Briarkit was snorting now as Phantomkit added her piece. "Serenekit," she managed to cough out through her wide smile. "That was so silly." The dark ginger rolled to her paws with some difficulty, wincing at her worked out stomach, before bounding over to her and hopping on top playfully. "And being a warrior can't be that hard, c'mon! Fight back!" Briarkit hoped Phantomkit would come playfight, too.
Phantomkit smiled even wider at Briarkit's actions, getting ready to spring into the mix. "Yeah! You'll have to defend yourself now! Pretend I'm an enemy warrior!" With this she sprang into action, heading for Serenekit. Nothing about her was all that intimidating though, as her claws were sheathed and her form was way off.
"It looks really hard!" she protested, eyes widening when the other kitten ran over to attack her. Serenekit dropped into a crouch as Briarkit leaped onto her shoulders and wavered, fighting to keep her balance but ultimately failing. She fell onto her side and toppled the other kit to her ground, but there was no time to react because Phantomkit was coming to attack too.
Briarkit was on her side still from being knocked onto the ground but she smiled. "I guess that isn't fair, huh?" And with that, she played the defensive. Briarkit scrambled to her white paws and leapt at Phantomkit instead before she could make it to Serenekit. Might as well make it a free-for-all. "Watch out!" she cried happily, paws outstretched to land.
Phantomkit was mildly surprised and, instead of continuing her pursuit of Serenekit, rolled to the side in an attempt to avoid Briarkit. Phantomkit let out a purr of excitement at the current game they were playing.
She brightened immediately to see she had won over an ally. "Yeah, get her!" she yowled happily, springing back to her paws to watch them. She was bobbing up and down with excitement, watching the fight but waiting for a better opportunity to jump in.
Briarkit panted a little and raised one brow dramatically. "Now why do I feel like I'm putting on all the work here?" Then she flopped down belly up, waiting for one of the other she-kits to jump. Then she'd curl up in a ball and grab their ear!
Phantomkit hesitated. She knew Briarkit was probably planning something here but it's not like she could just quit now. With this thought she leaped towards Briarkit, ready to win the fake fight they were currently having.
"I put in work, I attacked you! I'll help soon," Serenekit assured her. She wavered between the pair, then fell into a crouch and slunk toward Phantomkit and Briarkit. "I'll get you!" she warned, jabbing at them experimentally with one paw.
Briarkit watched with pleasure as Phantomkit leapt at her then squealed as she was landed on. The air went out of her and she forgot to bite, giggling from the impact instead. When Serenekit began poking at them, Briarkit growled playfully at her denmate. "Now there's a ferocious warrior! I knew you had it in you," she encouraged, trying to scramble out from underneath Phantomkit.
Phantomkit nodded happily. "You know it. I'm going to be the best warrior!" She fluffed out her coat to make herself appear larger and sat down, curling her tail around her paws.
Serenekit smiled, though she felt the opposite lesson had been learned. "Fighting you guys is hard work! Fighting trained warriors must be harder," she reasoned. She jabbed out once more, then lunged at Phantomkit to knock her off of Briarkit. "Arrr, don't hurt my ally!"
