Subaru stretched out one marbled paw, inspecting his claws out of boredom. It had not been long since he was accepted into the clan. Today he was supposed to be "on break" but his pelt itched to get moving and do something useful or fun. Instead, he was sitting in the shade of camp, nibbling casually at a mouse. He had to admit, this life was much better than the one he had before. After that gathering, though... He had a strange hunch things were about to get busier than any of them expected. That red moon sent shivers down his spine.
Bluekit was in the camp away from his siblings, searching for something to do, when he had one of his fits. The trembling began like usual at his shoulders and rippled down his back, ending at his tail. The little blue tom instantly turned to bite at it, willing the uncomfortable feeling to go away. He hated that. "Ah!" he cried out anxiously. "Stop it!" The feeling eventually subsided, and Bluekit pressed down onto the ground in a crouch. Usually that only happened when he was stressed, but he couldn't think of anything that would have triggered it this time. As he lay there, his blue eyes met those of another cat with a mouse in front of him. Bluekit forced himself to his paws and turned away, angry that he'd looked so dumb in front of an older clanmate.

Well, that was certainly an odd sight. The lanky tom was just about to greet Bluekit when he had some sort of...episode? "Hey, hey, pip." Subaru meowed, placing a paw on the kitten's tail to stop him in his tracks. "You can't just walk up to someone, get the jitters, then run away."
The tiny youth bared his little teeth in embarrassment. "Let me go," he complained, yanking his tail away defensively. "It's not my fault it happened." Bluekit refused to meet the warrior's gaze and looked down at his shaky paws instead.

"Alright, alright." Subaru grunted, placing his paw back under him. "So you can't help it? That's curious. Were you born with it?" His question was gentle but casual. He wasn't one to baby kits even if they were sick but he also didn't want to scare him off.
The warrior's tone didn't seem to pity him, so Bluekit settled back down and looked at the tom with his stormy blue eyes. "Yeah," he answered, body still jerking in barely noticeable movements. "I guess so." He wished he didn't have that problem, but he woke up with it every day and no amount of praying to Selene changed it.
